Yeah, I'm not buying it either. Could be the UE wanting to grab more of us I guess, but I think we'd be hearing more noises or something. Aliens?

It was a possibility. They hadn't seen any life from other planets since they had arrived, perhaps, but that didn't mean they weren't out there - or particularly close-by, at that.
