Summary: White collar crime with a vampire, egads! A snake and an undead--let's see how this turns out.
Warnings: Probably Kanaya being sassy as Kano acts like an idiot.

[It's good to be back in Japan again. Although he's a bit nervous, Kano's otherwise feeling positive about this mission. They didn't need a break--what they needed was something to occupy their attention, something to accomplish, to make them feel like they were succeeding at something for once instead of throwing whatever they had at a wall to see if it'd crack.

He hasn't worked with Kanaya before. But he's certain that this mission will be a success. Compared to the ones they did back home... this isn't too bad, right?

Kano breathes in deeply then throws open his arms as if introducing the great building in front of them.]

So, so... is this the place? It looks pretty easy to me, that's a disappointment.

Mortal mouth-- right, right, that's because you're a vampire, aren't you~? Eh, doesn't being a vampire excuse you from eating mortal food? Can you even eat something like sushi?

I don't know for sure... [She lowers her voice a tiny bit to avoid being overheard by passers-by, and her head tucks slightly for a similar reason.]

The last time I even tried to eat anything was - in the holding facility, so that's not really the same situation. [Kano may have trouble determining whether her rather lost facial expression is because of this or her confusion over what exactly sushi is.]

It definitely isn't. [He responds promptly, without a change in his tone or expression.] For one, the food around here tastes way better! You have my guarantee. Anyway, now's a good tme to try, don't you think?

That is a sound argument if I have ever heard one. Alright. Let's try this Sue She.

You don't know what sushi is, do you?

...No, I have absolutely no idea. [Somewhere between "I'm game anyway" and "I'm not sure I'll come out of this with my sanity intact"]

[It's ok he won't feed her the super raw + live sashimi.]

Ehh, that's a shame! Nobody's taken the time to educate you? It's delicious art, that's what it is!

What's sushi made of, anyway? Dogs?

[He actually makes a face at that.] Where'd you get that? Poor Kanaya's been misinformed! There's no way you can fit something like that on a delicate roll of rice!

It's not technically misinformation if you're working from no information at all.

Well, sushi's fish with some sauce, plain and simple. It's much better than canines, trust me.

It doesn't sound so bad by that description. And it's a pretty core type of dish?

Now I wonder how many of the restaurants we've passed offer that. [Can't read all these candies!!]

[He waves a hand!] Don't worry about it, Kanaya~ I'll willingly be your special tour guide! I'll show you things that no other guy would show you, feed you all the best dishes in Japan~!

Okay then, Kano, continue to lead the way. I don't want to be an ungrateful guest in your great country.

[That's the spirit!! He chatters on about the scenery as he leads her to a restaurant, where he asks for two seats. Once they have a table, he pulls out a seat for her.]

After you.

[She sits down with a grateful nod, making sure to tuck her legs underneath the table unobtrusively. She picks up a menu and... oh no. More candies.]

How many years will it be until Kanaya can read this.

[Sensing her distress he leans over to peek at her menu.]

Depends on how much Kanaya wants to learn them. Do any of the pictures look good to you?

Um... this, or maybe this...

[Pointing at a salmon piece, then a yellow snapper.]

Let's get both then! No objections, right? [Because he's already waving his hand up in the air.]

No objections. The individual portions seem to be pretty small anyway. What is Kano getting?

[The server comes over--Kano gives the orders in Japanese before turning back to Kanaya.]

That's a surprise. Kanaya gets to guess when it comes!

Kanaya will try but does not make any promises.

[She puts her chin in her hand and prepares to wait.]

And Kano will laud Kanaya's wholehearted efforts.

[Kano flatters Kanaya. She finds herself smiling for a second before looking away from him to the commotion of the restaurant. There are a variety of striking visuals here, after all.]

[It's a nicely decorated restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere to it. After a short wait, their orders come. His is a mysterious looking one. What could it be??]

All right, all right~! Let's eat!
