(openish | prison log) lock our eyes on distant horizons

Date & Time: Nov. 19th - ??? at least several days, tbd
Location: Empty housing in the West Wing.
Characters: Arrested mutineers & visitors (potentially YOU)
Summary: Everyone locked up some mutineers so now they're slightly stuck in place.
Warnings: there will probably be discussion of violence and death, will add if necessary.

[ Mutineers have been put in some of the empty rooms in the West Wing, one guard at a time on the hallway and the doors only able to be opened from the outside for now. Roslyn and whoever else she can get to volunteer are rotating guard duty.

They have been set four to a room for the moment.

Cell 1: Charlie, Connor, Max, and very briefly Sev
Cell 2: Chloe, Marie, Tempest, Bond
Cell 3: Sev (after not long at all)
Cell 4: Jesse (after taking Tempest's powers)

Visitors are allowed, but please note that anyone who had at any point been advocating violence against the mutineers in a place where Roslyn is likely to have seen it will absolutely not be allowed near them. Visits will be supervised and in a separate room from the cells for the sake of privacy, with the door open and a guard within easy eyesight  and earshot of any raised voices.

Mutineers will start without access to their tablets but will regain access within approximately a day to two days. However! These tablets will be temporarily unable to encrypt messages. Private messages to personal inboxes are still accessible but on the network itself all their interaction must be public.

Guards on Duty: Roslyn, Riku, Raiden, Wesley Mitchell, Travis Marks, Seras Victoria, Caspian. Working on 6 hour rotations, so each guard is on approximately once every 1 1/2 days.

If you have any questions about confinement etc just let me know! ]
totallytrustworthy: (wtf is wrong with you)

No offense, love, but you're-- what, twelve? Thirteen?
fintastic: (hmm~)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-22 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
More like fifteen or sixteen.

[ Time conversion was never her strong point and the time travel factor makes it a little more difficult. ]
totallytrustworthy: (ciao amore)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-22 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure that's not gonna help me sleep better at night. [She almost cracks a smile at that, so that's something.]
fintastic: (former future empress)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-22 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
But I'm small and feisty and I can slip under their feet!

[ Smiling is infectious, but then again, it's not hard to get Feferi to smirk. It's her state of being 90% of the time. ]

But they are not going to kill you. There are a lot of people out there who don't necessarily like your methods but agree with the sentiment. I don't think they'd be happy if you got murdered.

That's a nice thought but the armed swordsman lurking outside my cell door doesn't exactly inspire. And I don't fancy an 'accidental' trip through the airlock so. [Chloe turns one of the candies over in her fingers before biting down on it.] At this point I don't think a few people agreeing with us is going to shift things in our favor.

Only so many times we can stress the while nonviolent bit before we realize that detail would prefer to go ignored in favor of 'dealing with traitors', after all.

fintastic: (suuuuure)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-22 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You know what else isn't going to help? What you're doing right now, this whole us against the world thing! It doesn't have to be like this. It might seem hopeles right now, but people just need a little time to settle down.

[ She neglects to mention that she is pretty sure the swordsman is for everyone's protection... on both sides. Partly because everyone's just so riled up, and tempers are still cooling. So she leaves it out in lieu of optimism, which she assumes hasn't exactly been a focal point in most conversations lately. ]

I don't like what you did, either, but I would rather we shun people for doing bad things with bad intentions, not because they got a little mixed up and went about something the wrong way. And for what it is worth, we were always listening and we-- I still want to listen, and if you let me help, I promise I will do everything I can to help this work out.
totallytrustworthy: (I'm waiting for the movie to begin)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-22 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I think it's serving its purpose just fine. [Because provoking everyone and their base-dwelling grandmother might not be the best of plans, it's shifted things enough to get people talking. Their initial plan to work with the Initiative might be impossible thanks to memory issues, but plan B? Plan B's at least had people talking. Wanting to prove the mutineers wrong.

Of course plan B also happens to be martyrdom but enh. Details.
]

The longer there is something-- or someone-- to be personally upset about, the longer people will keep paying attention to the issues that matter. I know you want to believe talking's enough to get the job done but right now it just isn't: meetings flounder, information gets withheld and every month new transports stumble in blind with no idea of what's going on or why they should care.

Sunshine and rainbows would save me one hell of a lot of stress in the long run-- I'd gladly take it-- I just know that right now we need more than that. So keep pressing them to be better. Use words and resources and pressure your mates to stop keeping the public in the dark if they happen to trip over something important; we'll be doing the same in our own way.
fintastic: (i'm not a model)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-22 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Too bad people were already talking at least from her perspective, and that's what she doesn't really see. Limited field of view and all.

But she does win points for inadvertent fish puns. Flounder. ]

Okay, but you cannot just go around kidnapping people and making a mess of the base and getting people stuck in time, just because you think you weren't told something out of spite. If everyone did that, where would we be? And if you ask me, now nobody's paying attention to the things that are important. Our stocks are up, we finally have time for missions that will actually make a difference, but instead we are here trying to get everyone back together enough to agree on where to go from here.

[ So much for diplomacy, but if there's one thing that really irks her about the situation, it's not the specifics of what went down, or even what happened to her personally, but the fact that now not only do they have to worry about getting transports to get along with the Iniaitive, but also getting transports to get along with other transports. ]

I'm here, trying to find ways that we can all work together without fear of getting thrown out of an airlock if we disagree, when I could be on Earth a few thousand years ago, doing something about the UE and the attack. How can anyone think about the past if we can't even keep our present straight?
totallytrustworthy: (always in my eyeline now)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-22 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Not spite. Short-sightedness. Selfishness. Stupidity possibly, though that might be pushing it.

Letters from exiles withheld till it's convenient for winning an argument, information about the United Earth rover, valuable data dragged back from UE headquarters and it's held onto like someone's private bloody messages. Before we played our hand no one could decide on a thing-- if that hasn't changed then you've lost nothing.

The divide's on our end; we're in the minority. The rest of the transports from what I've seen up close and personally seem impressively devoted.
fintastic: (to cull or not to cull)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-22 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So you mean... all information gathered or held onto by other transports?

[ More curious than anything. Because the Initiative left isn't really doing much intel themselves, as far as she knows. ]

totallytrustworthy: (Chloe and Flynn)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Bingo. [It's not patronizing; that's just how she talks I swear.]
fintastic: (oh hello there)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-23 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ She doesn't even take it that way. The gears in her head are turning. ]

So then what we need is a better way for everyone to share information when they find out things like that, that isn't just lost in the rest of the network shuffle. And some kind of incentive or way to hold people accountable if they don't!
totallytrustworthy: (cold like some magnificent skyline)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
The latter part particularly - a lot of this information was never shared directly. I have a feeling there's still more Charlie and I lacked the time or resources to uncover.

fintastic: (hmm~)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-23 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
And I agree, we need to be able to make sure everyone knows what's going on. Okay, so that's one thing. What else is there?

[ Success! Well, partially. At least she won't be coming away empty handed. This is exactly what she wanted out of this visit. ]
totallytrustworthy: (worst job ever)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
The United Earth rover needs addressing, and representatives ought to be chosen for the sake of conducting meetings and discussing serious issues keeping in mind the mistakes of the past rather than offering up apologies for them. We all know the Initiative's the one thing keeping our universes going; that doesn't mean we ought to agree with their methods if it means unethical or inhumane missions.

Once we get back to earth and the Initiative is restored again this has got to be stressed or else we'll just be glorified lapdogs that end up right back on the bloody moon. And I'm not about to let that happen.
fintastic: (casually tents fingers)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-23 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
[ Woah slow down there! She pulls out a little notebook and pen (from where, don't ask) and starts jotting some of that down. ]

UE Rover, representatives, meetings... okay. I think those all sound like good ideas! It might not be an overnight thing, and there's still everything from this to deal with, but at least the process can start, right?

[ That's a lot of good stuff to start with, she feels accomplished. ]
totallytrustworthy: (feel their cold hands on)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
No, not overnight, but if we get back to Exsilium and things go back to exactly what they were before... [It's not directed at Feferi; she's frustrated and she has no idea where to aim it. Charlie was better at this sort of detail work, Chloe's the momentum. And momentum doesn't ever stop. Not without dying off entirely.]

fintastic: (damn onions)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-23 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
They won't. It won't be perfect at first either, but do you think it can be okay if we try some things until we find what works?

[ There has to be something that can be reached that will fill the most needs. Though she might be biting off more than she can chew, but she's going to try her damnedest. ]

I don't know if you know this, but that's my home now. I want to make sure everyone can get along and get what they need, without having to live in fear of each other... on either side.
totallytrustworthy: (in everything I touch)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's mine too. [There's a short, weighted pause before she adds:] Was.

fintastic: (devious)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-23 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It still is. We just have to... clean it up a little.

[ But she's said her piece, and now she has something to take back with her. She puts her notebook away, and takes the bag of fish candies and holds it out. ]

I have to get back now. Do you want to keep these? I have tons more.
totallytrustworthy: (dabooty)

[personal profile] totallytrustworthy 2013-11-23 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Chloe doesn't really hesitate when it comes to accepting the offer. All things considered it might cheer up her cellmates as well, having something addictive to snack on.]

Thank you. [And not just for the candy.]
fintastic: (finter is coming...)

[personal profile] fintastic 2013-11-24 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. I'll get in touch in a week or two. Bye!

[ And she's already flouncing her way to the door, to let the guard know she's done. ]
