(openish | prison log) lock our eyes on distant horizons

Date & Time: Nov. 19th - ??? at least several days, tbd
Location: Empty housing in the West Wing.
Characters: Arrested mutineers & visitors (potentially YOU)
Summary: Everyone locked up some mutineers so now they're slightly stuck in place.
Warnings: there will probably be discussion of violence and death, will add if necessary.

[ Mutineers have been put in some of the empty rooms in the West Wing, one guard at a time on the hallway and the doors only able to be opened from the outside for now. Roslyn and whoever else she can get to volunteer are rotating guard duty.

They have been set four to a room for the moment.

Cell 1: Charlie, Connor, Max, and very briefly Sev
Cell 2: Chloe, Marie, Tempest, Bond
Cell 3: Sev (after not long at all)
Cell 4: Jesse (after taking Tempest's powers)

Visitors are allowed, but please note that anyone who had at any point been advocating violence against the mutineers in a place where Roslyn is likely to have seen it will absolutely not be allowed near them. Visits will be supervised and in a separate room from the cells for the sake of privacy, with the door open and a guard within easy eyesight  and earshot of any raised voices. 

Mutineers will start without access to their tablets but will regain access within approximately a day to two days. However! These tablets will be temporarily unable to encrypt messages. Private messages to personal inboxes are still accessible but on the network itself all their interaction must be public.

Guards on Duty: Roslyn, Riku, Raiden, Wesley Mitchell, Travis Marks, Seras Victoria, Caspian. Working on 6 hour rotations, so each guard is on approximately once every 1 1/2 days.

Fair point. [She does suppose that to some extent she did know: the Initiative's recruited a bunch of crazies in the past and even if she hasn't got a current headcount the ratios can't be all that surprising.

Chloe lifts her chin enough to give him a somewhat searching sort of stare. ] You seem to be taking it well enough though. Have to admit I'm almost jealous.

[There's benefits to being a frequent and good liar, all of which James makes the most all too often. His vague optimism isn't entirely fake, granted, but the smile he offers to Chloe certainly isn't heartfelt, no matter how convincing it may be.]

It's either this, binge drinking or murder, and I'm all out of alcohol and viable targets.

Oh right that's it entirely. Stuck in a room full of women with four beds and nothing to do.

[She's teasing of course, all the usual poking and prodding, but the grin never hits her eyes.]

I can think of plenty to do, I just don't think you three would appreciate a lot of it.

[Apparently talk of sex and alcohol are the only things that keep James sane at times likes this. Or ever.]

[Chloe rolls her eyes, swatting a dismissive hand his way.] Tsh. Now you're just underestimating us.

In that case, I'm going to be sorely disappointed if I offer myself up and none of you take the offer.

Oh I'm sure someone will-- and we'll be thrown out of here on our asses within the week.

Well there's your first mistake, love. It's why I never bother with getting comfortable at all.

[A smile, half-arsed and careful.] Oh, I feel we're stepping into deep water here. Is it best I avoid talk of settling down?

For both our sakes. [a beat] Can you even glance at a ring without cringing?

I take it you can't? [Directing the question straight back at her. Touchy subject, and one he'd rather avoid. His trouble lies less in the fact he avoids monogamy and more in the fact everyone dies all the time. The last woman he'd truly considered marrying was Vesper, and look how well that turned out.]

When it's behind glass and I'm holding a cutter, sure I can. [Touchy subject for the both of them-- point made and taken.]

I'd ask what your story is, but I feel now isn't the time. Especially with so little alcohol available to us. [And that might mean James being expected to share his tales of woe and that's just never going to happen. (Whatever, just find the movies up or something).]

[The story is commitment issues, James. She's a wuss: no more, no less. There's a reason why after over a year spent running alongside Charlie Cutter the most she manages to say is that they're partners. Mostly professional partners.]

What you mean you don't want to hear about a life spent running away from an arranged manage?

[If only James could manage a year with some chick without her dying. That would be a pretty good achievement. Maybe if these two swapped lives...]

[She cracks the edge of a smile with that: you do see right through her. ]

Well you're not wrong.

So, how much are you willing to bet they'll go and forget about us in here after about a week.

Thought as much. [Can't blame her for it though.]

Seems a week is a fair assumption. They'll be undecided about what to do, then lose interest and forget. Lucky us.

Makes it seem like commandeering this station wasn't enough if they decide to gloss over something that set them off like a fire at a gun show.

Don't take it too hard, darling. That's just human nature: If the problem goes away, ignore it. We're no longer a problem to anyone but a few guards, and so... ignored.

Well if we all go crazy in here they'll have only themselves to blame.

Just try not to get too loud when you kids inevitably go at it. [There's a quick flick of her fingers to point towards Tempest and Maria. ] Or, you know, do, if you're aiming to bother the guards.

[Eye roll. He's not a sex crazed maniac, Chloe (yes he is).]

I'll do my best. Although I might just try and behave myself. Just this once.
