The statement “Let’s go to Vegas” exists as the multiverse’s quintessential definition of, “well it seemed like a good idea at the time.” Even in this case, it really had, between zombies, insurrection, and the day to day tedium of life on the moon. Besides which, Xerxes Break has a new sentient (sentient-er) weapon, which in a stunning show of good judgement is too dangerous to test on the moonbase, nor in any concentration of people. Las Vegas, set against the backdrop of the vast, desolate Mojave desert, seemed to be a perfect choice.

When our heroes wink into existence, squinting against the early-morning desert sunshine, they’ll find themselves duly welcomed. Come play in the casino. When you feel a bit peckish, indulge in all you can eat. Take your winnings and go shopping; at night, take in a show. And if you’ve done really well gambling, unwind in a ridiculously luxurious suite.

[By Allen's urging, she's struggling to keep the sheet tucked about her even half off the mattress (mostly off the mattress) as she is-- to the tolling of a third voice, Lenalee startles and goes completely... off the mattress..., and onto Allen's kneeling form.

It is not her finest moment.]

[TOPPLED ONTO WITH A SHRIEK, nearly knocking his head into the metal bar as he's flattened by a falling drunk Lenalee and a tangle of sheets - yelling out right at the same moment,]

Oh dear, I seem to have caught you two in the middle of something.

[ Surely modern medicine has come a long way, making these things obsolete; perhaps they're only provided in the hotel rooms by way of enhancing the retro charm. However this is a technology that's been in use since the seventeenth century, so perhaps it's not too surprising to see it in the twenty-seventh.

Even Break had been able to recognize them fairly easily (after an initial period of confusion when he thought they were balloons).

In any case, he ferrets in the top drawer of the bedside table, sweeps up a handful of multicolored square packets with a ring shape inside and tosses them on top of Allen and Lenalee. ]

Well, well. What can I say? Be careful~!

[ And poof that's it, he's gone.

She is all leg at the best of times, and seems to be made of nothing but when tipsy, apologetically she gathers herself with- not a terrible amount of grace, and accidentally pulls on his hair once or twice on her way to the hardwood.]

Silently, he rises to his feet once more, and steps heavily around her. Some part of him may have already died.]

[Her hands find their way into her hair, and she very gracefully hides her face in the rise of her knees. It has been months since Lenalee last heard that haunted weight enter Allen's tone and she's worried now it may infect hers, as well.]
