closed | I'll take the long way 'round

Date & Time: Around the 24th.
Location: The Borgia's room.
Characters: Ellie, Lucrezia, and Cesare.
Summary: Ellie is frustrated and sad and angry, so she's hanging out with historical figures and braiding hair.
Warnings: Cesare and Lucrezia ;) and Ellie's swearing, as always.

[Ellie didn't think Cesare would be high on her List of People to Bother, but today he and his sister are. There's something about the way that they talk that makes them feel unreal, even more so than the people she knows who are superheroes and nonhuman. They're above or beyond the stupid mutiny, debates about what's right, things like that.

She just needs a break from it all. If she doesn't, she's pretty sure she'll lose her mind.

Ellie might not grasp what her new found friends from the Renaissance are talking about a lot of the time (she can't even name when the Renaissance is or what it is), but their company isn't bad. So that's why she's here on Cesare's suggestion, knocking on the door lightly, but loud enough to be heard.]

[ Cesare certainly thinks himself above their petty squabbles (petty to him, when it doesn't seem to concern his family's interests). As it is, he is concerned only with keeping those he cares about content, if possible happy, and he thinks friends would make his sister happy, albeit one with a mouth as foul as Ellie's.

If it cheers the girl up too, well, all the better.

He even took the trouble of cleaning up before her arrival, moving to the door quickly enough that it's obvious she's expected. Only he doesn't immediately let her in, standing there blocking the entrance to stare her down, trying to guess at her intentions for seeking him out in the first place. Well, Ellie? ]

Did you bring a comb?

[ Lately Lucrezia has taken to reading. She's spent a majority of her time within the small room Cesare and their mother call their living quarters. Either she paces, restless, or she takes to sitting against all the pillows she's stolen off of the other bunks to cushion herself with against the wall where she sits to read. Since her arrival she's gone through at least two novels.

Hearing the knock at the door Lucrezia closes her book with a faint snap and perks up from her spot on the bed.
]

Must you harass the poor girl before she's even had the chance to enter, Cesare?

[ She's teasing and her tone shows it, smiling at the back of her brother's head in amusement. How endearing he'd been, watching him from over the top of her book as he'd gone about the room and cleaning moments earlier. ]
cesar: (+++ / cesare)

hey, that's his sister you're talking to!!!

[ Cesare does try to make a good impression, turning over his shoulder to tweak a smile at his sister, which distracts him enough that Ellie can shove past him too easily.

He fell right into that one and happily too. He's not about to shank the girl when the threat of Joel still looms (and when he is beginning to grow rather fond of her though that's a secret) but he sure can reach to tug at the band holding up her ponytail as he walks past her toward Lucrezia. ]

That was never a fair comparison.

so rude right!!

[ Lucrezia watches on in amusement still, trying not to smile too much as she catches her brother tug on Ellie's swaying ponytail. And then she raises a brow at Cesare and continuing to sit prettily on her bunk. ]

I find that Ellie has made a rather fair comparison, brother. [ Thank you very much, Cesare. ] For we both wear skirts.

I only wear them better.
cesar: (++ / run away)

[ Biting. Now that would be a first. He goes ahead to take back his seat beside his sister, but not before he pokes her nose in reprimand. He's in a very good mood, hardly able to restrain his smile whenever he turns to Lucrezia. It's so painfully obvious. Subtlety doesn't run in the family. ]

Flowing red skirts and gold necklaces. Even a pretty ring.

his derpy face in that iconfffffff

Only Cesare wore his hair free.

[ The nose poke brings out that smile, dimples peeking in her cheeks, eyes briefly meeting his. In return she reaches to tug on a dark strand of said hair, and then focuses her full attention on Ellie. ]

Have you anything with you that you wish to share?

[ likecandy Like a new game for them to learn. A pun joke book, something from her world/time. Because Lucrezia is always curious to learn more and fascinated. ]
cesar: (& / chin)

hey don't insult his face plsthx!!!

[ It's probably telling, how he leans forward to let Lucrezia play with his hair to her heart's content. He's the sappiest sap in the entire universe when it comes to her. ]

If not a comb then she must have brought a pun with her.

adkg;akga never

[ She twines the hair around and around, releases it so that it springs back. ]

You did bring a comb, did you not?

[ Lucrezia leans a little forward towards Ellie, expectant. ]

What a conundrum.

[ He tries a mock frown but fails miserably. ]

Perhaps you cpuld do a song and dance instead. Would that please you, sis?

[personal profile] iluminar 2013-12-17 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Lucrezia discreetly elbows Cesare in the side, lips trying not to twitch into a smile. ]

What would please me, dear brother, is if we played a game. A game of exchange.

[ She says this while not taking her attention off of Ellie. ]
