Summary: In a bid to conserve energy, over a dozen transports do all of their Christmas shopping at once. I hope you brought money!
Warnings: None for now!

All the transports are dropped into New York at 6:00, simultaneously but scattered. Coding the drop points for this mission was hell.

It turns out that the weather is actually fairly mild on this date; there is snow neither in the air nor in the ground. That isn't to say there's nothing of visual interest: All the lights of the city are on at this hour.



The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was lit back on December 4th.

She likes studying? [His laugh is low, and more in response to a memory than to the idea of it.] Sounds like someone I know from back home, but I'm guessing you don't want to lug back a pile of textbooks. No offense to them, but that kind of makes for a boring Christmas present.

[He'd suggest buying her a snowboard, but they're way, way out of anyone's price range. The Christmas season may be upon him, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a voice in the back of his head telling him what their funds are better used for - which is why so many of his presents so far have had a decidedly practical bent to them.]

How about art supplies, then? Bet it's pretty hard to find any of those back in Exsilium.

She'd probably like them, but yeah. [Considering] I want her to have something really pretty. Something...I don't know, unique.

That might work. Though I wonder where you can get a chainsaw from?

[Yep. A chainsaw]

[Jaime was about to ask if she's his girlfriend, but that question is just going to have to wait because count him distracted by the mention of chainsaws.]

A chainsaw. Did we just skip conversations here? 'Cause last I remember, you were wanting to get something really pretty for her, and a chainsaw doesn't really fit the bill.

[Oh if only, and sadly a chainsaw would probably make Abbey stupidly happily]

She thinks they're pretty. She uses them to make ice sculptures.

[He scratches his chin.] Well, ice sculptures are pretty. But that's kinda like calling paintbrushes pretty 'cause they make paintings. If that's what you really wanna get, though, you're going to want to get out of Macy's. Unless this world's really different from mine, you're not going to find a chainsaw section around here.

I've never been to this place before, it was always on the normie side of things.

[He pints vaguely in the jewellery department] I'm torn between the chainsaw and like...a bracelet or something.

The bracelet's a little more traditional. It'll be a lot cheaper too.

[Is Home Depot a normie thing for you too, Heath? Because hoo boy, some of those prices...

And here's when he does get to ask the question on the tip of his tongue, because a bracelet is a very boyfriend sort of present to get.] So is this girl your girlfriend, or what?

You think so? [More like he has zero idea how careful shopping works. It's good to be 15.

He looks a little awkward at the question. For all his lothario ways, Abbey...well, she was always different.]

Err...No. Just a friend.

Just a really cool, pretty friend. [He flashes a grin at him - though that does make him think a little regretfully about Traci, who is about the coolest, prettiest girl he's ever met.

Not that he's biased about that in any way at all.]

But yeah, I can pretty much guarantee you that the bracelet'll be cheaper unless you're going for diamonds or something.

Yeah, exactly! [He'll leave it at that because boy is he not going to gush about Abbbey when there's a chance she could HEAR him.]

She's more of a crystal gal, anyway.

Crystal... might also be expensive. [He frowns.] I dunno, I've never actually bought jewelry before. Worth a shot, though.

Maybe I can trade them for something... [Heath, shopping doesn't work like that.]
