Date & Time: 26th-29th December
Location: Japan during the late 16th century!
Characters: A whole bunch of people!
Summary: Saving rice, fighting insects!!
Warnings: None yet!

Summer at its height: a middle-sized village on the outskirts of a province in the midst of a famine with almost wilting half-grown rice crops after their river for some reason ran dry.

With taxes to pay and war nearing or already at their borders, the people of the village though friendly are weary and in despair over their future.

[ noooope, totally here. breathing slow and completely relaxed.

then he shifts a little, inching closer. ]

[ just. going to attempt to wiggle over several inches.

too close, this is too close! ]

[ there's a brief respite for a couple of minutes.

and then Totsuka follows, seeking the warmth. ]

[ this isn't working. this isn't working at all. ]

. . hey.

[ still asleep?? ]

Totsuka-san.

[ for a few seconds, there is only even breathing. then, Totsuka makes a groggy sound, eyes fluttering half-opened almost as if in response to his name being called. he's not fully awake yet but awake enough to voice a sleepy hmm? ]

[ there's a moment of silence that follows, in which eric--stops and questions how he's supposed to tell him to. what. get off?? ]

. . can you move? [ yes good that works. ]

Move...?

[ he can't comprehend words yet, hold on -- Totsuka blinks, eyes opening fully. ]

...Eric? Oh, is it already morning?

No.

[ but he's running low on wiggle room over here! ]

[ blinking and seeing the situation they're in now.

ah.

he's just going to reach out and poke Eric lightly once, chuckling. ]

Mmm, you're warm.

[ is he cold, is that what that was about.

just. going to pull his own blanket off and shove it at totsuka. he doesn't really need it. it's not that cold out here--not really. ]

[ loooking at.

and then he reaches out to take it, scooting back to his space as he holds out the blanket for Eric to join him under. ]

[ just gonna shake his head over here and move to lay back down. ]

Don't need it.

[ he watches for a few seconds before making a sound of affirmation, letting the blanket drop down and closing his eyes to go back to sleep.

...don't freeze, Eric!! not that it's. that cold, anyway. ]
