(no subject)

Date & Time: 01/02 in the afternoon
Location: The creepy hotel, guest study
Characters: Rufus Barma and Huey Laforet (or anyone snooping around the museum/hotel)
Summary: Very safe science and alchemy
Warnings: Moral ambiguity- WHUP Blood and Baccano! death

In its prime, the study, boasting of a selection of actually printed books and rich, polished oak desks, was austere and quite a draw to the wealthy patrons of the establishment. While the valiant cleaning crew had done what they could from the warp of cold, bite of vermin and the simple passage of neglect, the room only clings to its fancy dress of ages past.

Still. It had books and paper, two things Rufus Barma took comfort in. Also, it was close to the heating ducts and far from the remaining colonies of aggressive penguins... Probably.

"I trust thine journey were a safe one."

[Actually snooping. No, no, he is just bringing tea and the most delicious scones ever baked on this side of Exsilium. How did he know Barma was there? He merely searched every single habitable room for a glimpse of ridiculous hair.]

Your Grace? May I come in?

[Huey Laforet was starting to get bored.

Because of an unexpected change of plans, he was forced to discard part of an experiment that he was starting to make some progress on. While he didn't regret this decision, he realized that he had to find something else to take interest in and so far, he had little luck. He had talked to several others through the network, but none of them had fit quite right into his plans.

Finally, he stumbled upon Rufus Barma, a man that had a presence that was strangely similar to him own. If he was truly similar to Huey, then Rufus was also a man who had his own agenda that he wanted to fulfill. It meant he had his own methods and his own theories, and sometimes learning about another person's work can lead to new discoveries of your own.

And honestly, Huey couldn't help but admit that he was curious as to find out for himself just what kind of man he was. He was bored.

When he arrived, he knocked to announce his presence. He brought with him a stack of handwritten paperwork and also, a smile.]

It was fine. Nothing interesting to note, really.
