Date & Time: Jan 7th
Location: THE MOON, some VR room
Characters: Apollo & Tony Stark
Summary: shenanigans on the moon idk
Warnings: none atm will update as needed
[ Apollo hadn't actually planned on going back to the moon today (or anytime ever, really) but goddamn if her dog didn't get himself into some shit sometimes. How he even managed to get on a shuttle without her she didn't know, but he had, which meant that she also had to make the trip to go fetch her lost friend. Finding him was a quick job at least, and now that she was here despite her plans not to be - well, fuck it. She might as well steal some shit and entertain herself while she had the chance to do so in a sleeveless shirt without freezing to death.
And so here she is, wandering about the moon base with her dog faithfully trotting along behind her. And, oh look, one of those VR rooms. It's been a while since she's played with one of those so, without bothering to check whether or not it's being used, Apollo decides to just stroll on in uninvited, chattering idly to the dog behind her about all the squeaky toys she's going to steal for him. ]

Endurance, apparently. [ Okay whatever he's apparently done for the moment, so he'll just sort of drop whatever stance he might still have been in and might as well give her his full attention. More or less. Also it's not a bad opportunity to catch his breath - he hasn't been going too easy on himself.
Yes, Tony remembers... Rockhead? Shellhead? Metalhead? Numbskull, that seems about right. ] Codependency. It's a dangerous business. Guess you guys'll be headed back down soon then, right? Get him all settled and cozy again.
no subject
Uh huh. That one of your weak points? [ Standing there with one hand on her hip, Apollo is eyeing him up, actually taking note of what he's doing on her own accord instead of just pestering him with a barrage of stupid questions. Well, she still has stupid questions, but she's going to ask them while she continues curiously inspecting him at least. ]
Naw, he's settled an' cozy where ever I am and hey I'm on the fuckin' moon again, so he's good. Cute you're worried though, you a dog person?
no subject
Also that's weird stop actually looking at him. He's going to start moving again then, since you're not doing anything interesting except staring at him. Maybe some stretches, pulling an arm across his chest and holding it there for a few seconds before releasing and repeating the mirror. If that covers up the reactor for a few seconds, then that's just a plus. ]
I'm a robot person. But I've got a cat. Here, anyway.
no subject
But no, she's not gonna stop staring for a little bit longer, sorry Tony. Stretching only feeds her curiosity; she's cataloging what his strengths could be and pondering over a few different things now. The robot and cat answer gets her blue and green eyes back to his face though, a smile accompanying the shift in her gaze. ]
Robots! Sounds fun, you build anythin' lately? Good to know 'bout the cat stuff too though, I'm part cat y'know! [ That idea kind of clashes with her little wings, but it's because technically she's part gryphon; meaning not just cat, and not just bird either. ]
no subject
[ She is such an interesting looking person. Still. He isn't really sure how long this chat is going to last, but there's a little bit more stretching he can probably manage, now that he's caught her eye with it anyway. There's a difference between her staring at him and him getting her attention, right? ]
Few things. Had to restart some projects recently. It happens. [ Part .. cat... ] Long as you don't have claws, you can come spar.
no subject
[ There she goes again, swearing as though she's using normal words instead. She's about to respond with some more nonsense when he mentions his projects, but the second he says "spar" that's suddenly the topic she latches onto. ]
No claws! [ She holds up her hands to show him, nails painted ten different colours now that she's discovered what nail polish is, and a few fingers decorated with rings. ] So, sure! Been a while since I had the chance to knock someone around, I'm thinkin' you'll be fun to play with, yeah?
no subject
What are you, a fifteen year old Hot Topic teenybopper? Who paints their nails ten different colors. Who has that kind of patience. Yes, he's being cynical as shit for no real reason. Also he likes that she says that like he's going to be some sort of fun new dog toy. Fun to play with indeed. ] I'll do my best. You need to warm up? Stretch it out? Take off some bling?
no subject
Yeah, gimme a minute. [ The first thing she's getting rid of are her gun belts, which she tosses to her dog without looking. He catches them in his mouth and watches as she takes off her rings and gives those to him too for safe keeping, as if he even knows what the fuck to do with them. ] Hold onto my shit, yeah? [ And then she's patting him on the head, straightening up and stretching out for a couple seconds, rolling her neck and crackling her knuckles before finally she's ready. ]
Alright sugar, there, good to go!
no subject
He half watches this with half interest, wondering idly about the safety abjectly un-inherent in letting your dog catch your gun belt in his mouth, but hey, whatever. He's pretty sure from this angle he couldn't have been shot, and even if he had been, it wouldn't have been... Unmanageable. (No he would have been pissed he's just being grumpy and ridiculous rn.) The rings are a little more interesting but if she wants to let her dog hold her weave, he doesn't care.
It's pretty easy to drop into stance. This part - this part he's pretty okay with. She was right: fighting a real person is so much better than otherwise. ] Where did you learn? [ Casual conversation, right? While he circles and feels her out at first. ]
no subject
Metalhead is well trained and in tune with Apollo, so he's used to catching things she tosses to him at random without breaking anything or setting off a pistol, or whatever. And he knows the difference between a real fight and a practice run, so he's happy to sit patiently and let her do her thing unassisted. ]
Everywhere. [ Not very descriptive, but technically true. Falling into stance is simple for her too, suddenly looking a hell of a lot steadier, firmer, and all around ready to knock him around like she said she would. She turns and follows his lead at first, never showing him her back and watching him closely. She'll let him feel her out, and it looks like she's going to let him make the first move too. ] You?
wow I am sorry
He just makes a face at that, mostly, because wow, Captain Science, super informative. Probably true enough, and he gets that sometimes that sort of knowledge is accrued as you go, more or less anomalously. Sometimes that's just how that goes.
Still. He was looking for something a little more interesting. Right now though, as she drops into stance and the actual sparring gets ready to go, he's looking for something else. A decent opening, maybe, since she seems content to let him make the first move. That's fine though - he's never really minded going first. ] Picked up a lot through necessity. Training when that wasn't quite enough to work with. [ Just a quick tussle at first, maybe. He knows enough to distinguish styles similar to what he's learned, but not without engaging her at least a little bit first, so he'll throw a punch or two to get things going. ]
naw man we cool
Explaining the places she's learned a lot of her shit would end up being Apollo babbling about a world that Tony isn't familiar with. She loves to babble though, so it isn't that she's adverse to doing that - it's just that she'd rather show him. For now, anyway, since Apollo doesn't generally go long without dissolving into chatter. ]
Necessity? [ The first thing Tony may notice about her is how quick she is, considering how easily she avoids the first couple punches. She has good reflexes, so the more casual he is with her, the easier it is for her to evade. ] What didya need to fight for? [ After those first couple punches, Apollo finally throws a few of her own, not using her full strength, but not exactly going totally easy on him either. ]
:')
Now's probably not the greatest time for a geography lesson though, you're right. Or, maybe that would be astronomy. Whatever it winds up being, in the middle of a fight is still a poor time for the stuff.
And see this is the sort of thing he can be oddly blunt about. He doesn't actually care, because he's used to all that sort of shit having been publicized and in all the news and shit back home anyway. It was all anyone ever wanted to ask him about for months the first time he came back home. ] Kidnappings. I'm kind of a big deal. [ Also dang she totally is fast. And heavy - he blocks and dodges and isn't too bad himself, but she likely (definitely) has the edge here. He moves in with a couple of punches that are also grabs on the sly, because he apparently hates himself. ]
no subject
[ It's not intended to be an insult, really, it's just the first parallel that happens to pop into her mind at the time. Her focus is more on the fight right now anyway, carefully taking note of how Tony moves and running through how best to counter it. He knows what he's doing, she'll give him that, but he doesn't quite feel as though he's on the same level as she is. ]
Well, good on you for puttin' your foot down on bein' a damsel in distress! [ She flashes him a bright smile, an expression that contradicts the roughness of her counter punches and deflections any time he goes for a grab move. ] How areya a big deal, though? You ain't actually a princess, right?
