Date: January 1st 8th
Location: The Transporter building.
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: New Transports arrive and are shuffled through their initial briefings. Then... out into the cold?
Warnings: None.
Your arrival here has been very unceremonious. One second you were somewhere else, and now, very suddenly, your feet hit the glowing white of the Transporter pad, and you're here. You aren't alone, either. There's a crowd of others around you, each seeming just as bewildered, angry, or confused as you might feel. At the head of the group is a woman in purple robes, solemn and taciturn. She hurries over a quick overview of your intended purpose here, and gives direct answers when asked for them, but to most things she simply shows you how to access the tablet you've just been given, or tells you that the DITR's greeters will explain everything. On the tablet, you can find the history of this place and a record of what your new cohorts have experienced. You're guided through the armory and given a weapon, and though the armory is now greatly reduced, you should be able to find something to suit you.
You're currently in a large multi-roomed warehouse, graciously granted by the cagey and suspicious remains of the organization known as the Initiative. They don't know you or trust you, but they've given you leave to set up camp in one of the warmer corners of this building until you find a place of your own. And if you want to leave right now, step into the driving winter winds and never look back? Well, friend, you can be their guest.
Outside you'll find the wintery village of Exsilium, with most of its buildings permanently buried in snow and ice. There are tunnels underground to connect neighbor to neighbor to marketplace, and most of the people here use them, but you'll still see people braving the above ground weather here and there for a more direct route. They hardly glance at you, should you venture out among them — unless you don't look human. That hologram emitter the greeter pressed upon anyone non-human on arrival? Yeah, consider that very important to maintain good relations of any kind.
Welcome to the current reality of Exsilium.

Welcome to the current reality of Exsilium.

But then, of course, Isaac remembers timelines, remembers a point when they were from different times in their world- when Isaac thought he was Scott's ally, and Scott treated him like an enemy. It could be the same thing here, couldn't it? It could be that they took Scott from a time before even his first visit to Exsilium?
(does it even work like that?)]
It's fine. Not your fault. [Isaac purses his lips a little, before shrugging.] Look, this is going to be a weird question, but... are we friends?
[That came out a little too weird, Isaac. Elaborate.] I just mean that- well, we are when I'm from. In Beacon Hills right now, I'm actually staying with you, but... if the reason you don't remember is because they grabbed you at an earlier point in your timeline, I don't wanna... [Impose? Force his company? Isaac just sort of shrugs at that, even though he's pretty sure he's grasping at straws. Scott still feels like an alpha, feels like his alpha, but still. It's worth a shot.]
no subject
But it's still strange that Isaac is asking. All of this is weird, and Isaac has no reason to believe they're not friends. Scott does understand that it's some conclusion he drew a little later, after trying to figure this all out. Maybe there's something connected to that.
Oh, he has an idea.]
I'd be a little mad if I forgot that. [Or any other friends, for that matter. But if he forgot being here, there's a chance of that, isn't there?]
no subject
He doesn't speak to a lot of people from home anymore. It just confirms his suspicions that most of the others were friends of his through Scott anyway.]
Well then, I'm glad you didn't.
[Isaac forces a little smile back and claps Scott on the shoulder before looking around them both.] Well, before we play twenty questions, I think we should get inside somewhere. Do you have a place to stay?
no subject
Where'd I stay before? Uh, aside from the moon. [Because with the fact that things have just begun to go haywire, he knows that he shouldn't be putting himself—or anyone else for that matter—in danger.]
no subject
[But he smiles wryly, letting his hand drop and shoving them in his pockets. It's still pretty cold out, even with his jacket.]
You stayed with me. Or- I guess I was the one that crashed on your floor, but same difference. That was before the world got reshaped though. Our old housing doesn't exactly exist anymore. [More's the pity, but.] I'm, uh. I'm staying with someone else now, pretty far on the outskirts of town.
no subject
I mean—I'll leave right away, it's just ... [He's at a loss. He doesn't want to impose on Isaac.]
no subject
Yeah- yeah, it should be fine. [He shrugs.] Don't expect too much though. It's kind of... well, the bathtub is in the kitchen.
[Just so he knows!!! But Isaac turns and starts walking then, indicating for Scott to follow him.]
no subject
[It's a very valid question to ask.]
no subject
That would be weird, Scott.
[Really weird. And Isaac doesn't even know what he's going to do when Scott notices that there's only one bed in the side of the studio- it's not like that, but he has to admit that to an onlooker, the just pack explanation doesn't really hold much weight.]
We go for walks or whatever for privacy. It doesn't take that long.
no subject
[That could also be because it is cold, but he's not denying the part where it would be pretty weird for them to take a bath together. In fact, his face seemed to indicate that he definitely agreed with that sentiment.]
The bath. Not the walk. Of course that is.
no subject
It's the only place in the apartment where there's warm water. So it's not, actually.
[Sigh.]
Look, it's probably not what you're used to, but we're just trying to survive, alright? Outside of the Initiative and whatever the hell they do.
no subject
Let me know if you guys need an extra hand or anything.
no subject
[But Isaac smiles a little faintly at that. Of course Scott would want to help.]
Do you have any- I dunno, questions or anything? I feel like I should be trying to get you up to speed.
no subject
All of this is weirder than he'd like, though.]
How do we fight? The war, anyway. Have you gone on any missions?
no subject
[Isaac sort of winces at that specific question, shrugging his shoulders up high next to his ears. Not the easiest of first questions to ask.]
You go on missions and try not to let UE's invasions kill you. Harder than it looks. But the thing about missions- it's really complicated. I mean, you've read comics about time travel and everything, right? It changes things. The city, the world... people. [He swallows hard, not sure if he should really tell Scott about his particular experience with that last one.] Peter is pretty anti-establishment as it is, and when he found out about that part, he put himself as far away from the Initiative as he can.
[Which would be why they live in a shitty apartment on the edge of town, but hey.]
I went on a few missions when I was here last, though. If you want to go that way, I can try to help.
no subject
Well, I'd like to help. To get back home. [Because getting back home is the important part here. Bad things are already on their way to Beacon Hills.]
no subject
In the end, Isaac just sighs and nods, shoving his hands in his pockets.]
Right. I'll show you where to go for missions, and I'll go with you. Not today though, there's been enough stuff happening lately.
no subject
But he also knows it might actually keep Isaac safer.]
no subject
Don't be stupid. I'm going with you. [And that settles that. Either way, they're coming upon the apartment complex now, and Isaac glances behind them with a frown.]
Peter isn't here, anyway. I'm gonna have to text him. I'll show you where the couch is first?
no subject
And yeah, good thing. Uh—[How does he ask this?] What would you say Peter's like? Bad experience with Peters. You know.
no subject
Peter is basically the polar opposite of crazy-Peter. [For what it's worth. And then Isaac is at a loss for how else to sum up Peter Rumancek so he takes a moment to think.]
For starters, he's calm. Like, really laidback and sort of- I dunno, scruffy? He's got sort of this zen voodoo magic stuff, but it's more like a sixth sense for danger than it is anything violent. [He purses his lips in thought.] He's a werewolf, but not like us. Every full moon, he turns into a four legged furry wolf, but when it's not a moon he's just a regular guy. No strength or healing or anything.
no subject
no subject
[Now that Isaac knows Deaton a little better, he can understand the parallels.]
Just- less information guy and more hippie, I guess.
no subject
[Then again, it is hard to imagine him doing the things a hippie does.
... Though Scott has a hard time with what hippies do aside from being a hippie.
He really needs to be more culturally aware.]
no subject
Hah. Now I'm imagining him with dreads, thanks.
