February seventh came and went...and came back again. No matter where they were or what they were doing the time midnight rolled around for the eighth...Transports found themselves exactly where they were the midnight prior.

And so the day began again.

And again.

And again – for a week!

For some, maybe the involuntary reset was a godsend. Maybe. But how many times could a person repeat the same day before losing it a little? Or a lot?

Only (looped) time could tell.

Huh. Maybe we can try searching for him anyway. It's a better start than just standing around and waiting.

I don't know where he is now. We used to all live in the same building but now we're separated. He could be anywhere; he might even be on the moon base.

The moon base? [Well, she heard about it, but she didn't really go into the details.]

It's where we went when the city was destroyed. We brought it back, but everyone's different now. We got all separated when we came back here.

Huh, I see. Guess if we have that short a time to solve this before it happens again, it's better to look for an alternative.

... Any chance you know where we can find the main location of the AI?

I don't know. AI's the one with all the cat pictures, right?

[He still was not sure what AI was, being technologically ignorant. It could be a person, or maybe a talking machine. He did not know.]

That's the one. Do you happen to know if they've got an office they go to? [Or, you know, a mainframe and all.]

[He shook his head.] I never saw the AI in person. What does AI mean, anyway? That's not really a name, is it?

[urbanmagic]

No. Not really.

I'm assuming, if we're using the normal lingo I'm used to, then that means Artificial Intelligence. Usually a computer that has some sentience, or something like that. Never heard of it before?

[hornedomen]

Artificial Intelligence? I didn't know they can do that. So it's a machine that can think on its own? Does that mean AI is alive?

[urbanmagic]

I'm guessing this one is. I figure the technology here's even more advanced than back home.

[hornedomen]

A living machine. [It amazed him to know how far technology had gone.]

I wonder what AI looks like. [He was thinking of a metal human.] I don't think it looks like those cat pictures it uses. I'm sure if we ask on the network someone will know where we can find it.

AIs can look like anything, even funky-haired cats. Usually I hear them looking someone humanoid though.

Hmmm... Well, I guess it's a shot, but it didn't seem like they were off to solve this either.

They can? [Perhaps AI actually did look like those cat pictures.] Maybe they're trying to find out what's wrong, too. Someone has to know how to fix it, or at least have ideas.

Wanna give it a go then? Since you've been here longer, maybe it'll be easier for you to do it.

Are you sure? I don't really know much about the machines here. Even if they did have ideas, I probably won't know what they're talking about.

I can assist if it comes to that, but I'm honestly pretty lost when it comes to machines too. I've got more fondness for the more ah-- supernatural type of thing.

[He took out his tablet and he began playing with the screen.] Should we ask them now?

Wouldn't it be easier to say it's not normal? Supernatural makes it sound different, like for a flood or something.

[He was about to start the message, but first:] What's your name? We're using mine, so everyone can see my name but they can't see yours.

A flood's more natural than the stuff I believe in, trust me.

Just use Traci. The ones I've talked to would probably recognize it asap.

[He looked confused. The source of his confusion was that supernatural sounded like it would involve natural forces.

Well, he did not want to focus on that now. He turned the video on and he began introducing Traci, addressing the situation, and asking for ideas. He looked up at Traci.]

Hmm... [Actually she might just, though all she really adds in is that if they ever hear anything, call them. It's better than nothing.] That should do it.

So your name's Traci? [It sounded strange, but he did not say that aloud.] I'm Ico. When did you get here? Usually we have cookies for when new people come in. Did you get any?

That's right. Traci Thirteen-- and yes, that's an actual surname. [In case there was any doubt.] I got one! But then they started briefing me about this place and next thing I know, I was surrounded by laundry.
