it's just another saturday night

Date & Time: GROUNDHOG WEEK, just after midnight
Location: Robocastle
Characters: Rodimus ~~Prime~~, Sentinel Prime, Nova Prime
Summary: Someone gets thrown into a wall every morning and is generally unhappy about it.
Warnings: Giant robots being assholes.

( The world fades out and then back in again and suddenly he's slammed up against the wall by a blow from Sentinel that he didn't dodge in time. Which means he slides down the wall until he's on his knees on the ground before he pulls himself up, doubled over. Just like that morning.

Wait, what.

He clutches his shoulder, ignoring the pain that's spreading out from where he knows he's dented his plating to give Sentinel a confused look. They just did this, he knows they did - that morning. It had been a late night sparring session that had run longer than Rodimus wanted and left him with more chipped paint then he wanted as well. )

What the hell?

[sentinel immediately drops everything and goes to put a hand on rodimus's non-damaged shoulder for support. shit, this is worrying. especially seeing as they lack a medic.

a look of concern crosses his features.] How's your arm?

[they can figure out what's going on later. for now, rodimus's health is of more concern to him.]

I-- ( He lifts up his hand to see, and is surprised that it doesn't look any worse than it did yesterday. Well that's something at any rate. Rodimus will just find someone to patch it up later if he has to. But his optics flicker from Sentinel's hand back up to his face before responding. ) It's fine.

Didn't this happen yesterday?

[hopefully the look on his face says "i don't believe you." because that's exactly what he was going for.]

I believe so. Was it exactly the same as this?

( it does, but rodimus isn't going to mention it or mention that it's not fine. because he's an idiot. )

Yeah. I mean except for the part where we remembered we'd been through this already.

[he is going to fuss over you later and you can't stop him

Mm. If we're still self aware, then perhaps it is just the jump that's repeated.

[there's a slightly awkward pause while he idly picks at one of the primax blades.] We will have to wait and find out.

( BUT NOT-DADDDDDDDDDDDDD )

I've got better things to do than hang around waiting to see if I get thrown into a wall again.

[CHILD SIT DOWN AND LET HIM FUSS.

raise a robo-eyebrow.] Like get thrown into more trees?

( RUDE )

Okay, no. ( he doesn't want to talk about continually getting thrown into trees!!! ) Just. Other things.

( He's expecting it this time, the moment when everything goes black and he's suddenly snapped back to consciousness again - flying through the air - but this time he catches himself right before he slams into the wall, hand hitting the wall first this time. The impact reverberates through his arm and he winces, but it's better than his entire shoulder joint slamming into stonework.

It also means he's capable of hitting the ground and landing on his feet, hands clenched at his sides in irritation. Rodimus has had enough of whatever this is, and smoke starts to curl from his fists. But at the same time he's unwilling to concede this little victory after five days of being slammed into a wall. Which means he's going to make a run at Sentinel again - right hand bursting into flames when he tries to land a punch on the other bot. )

[rodimus will manage to land a very good punch on him; every time they snap back to the beginning of the day, sentinel keeps trying to stop doing anything that would cause rodimus further harm.

he stumbles backwards slightly, probably not as shocked at the connection as he should be. however, the fact rodimus was prepared for the change bodes well for the nature of the time travel.

there will be no attempt to fight back, only to calm rodimus down and restrain him from doing anything stupid that may end up being repeated.]

[This repeating time travel shit was starting to get on Nova Prime's goddamn nerves as well. The fact that there was no clear path to stopping it aside from the continued overall attack on the UE did little to settle his need for a physical outlet.]

[Being trapped in a damn time loop forever isn't easy on the mind okay? Even with the effects of the matrix.]

[So when the day is reset, and he spots Rodimus attacking a Sentinel clearly unwanting to fight, he found just that. A fight to break up - an outlet.]

Rodimus, you'd best cease your assault on your fellow Cybertronian. There are others more meriting of your aggression!

[Seriously. He's just about waiting for an excuse to go in there and let off some steam.]

( Rodimus didn't actually expect to land a punch, and drops the fist out of a combined effort of shock and Sentinel's efforts. It's still on fire, however, and it's only after Nova speaks that he shakes it vigorously to put them out. )

We were training. ( He was getting thrown into walls. At least the look he gives Sentinel is slightly sheepish by way of an apology. ) Every morning for the past five days.

( Please give him something to punch before he decides on a wall. )

[oh god this isn't where he wanted this to go AT ALL.

sentinel is pissed off and frustrated as well, of course he is. but it's un-prime like to throw a tantrum.] We are fortunate the resets do not occur at a more... inopportune time.

[like when he got punched in the face.]
