if you let me go, i'm running fast.

Date & Time: forward-dated to late september.
Location: just outside the hold, later ... wherever they decide to run
Characters: natasha romanoff ([personal profile] chelicerata) & roslyn small ([personal profile] boughtabookstore)
Summary: badass chicks natasha and roslyn run into each other when going for morning jogs. aw yiss.
Warnings: none.

[ The primary reason Natasha goes jogging along the perimeter every morning is that she needs an outlet for excess energy, to stay in shape, but there's also that each time she does, she learns the layout of the town a little better. Her feet become more and more familiar with the roads, she finds out which natives are the early birds, which people she'll see on a consistent basis and those with a less strict schedule. Alternatively, no schedule at all. She knows for a fact that Special Agent Roslyn Small is a morning person who prefers to leave for a run around the same time Natasha does herself, and it's not at all her first time coming across her within the Hold, ready to head out.

She's never introduced herself nor been offered a name from the woman; the reason she knows anything about her at all is because she's more than decent at hacking and from studying her on occasion from a bit of distance. She isn't about to let this be known, however -- the way she meets her gaze upon approaching is the way you meet a complete stranger's, and after filling her water bottle and putting it away for her return, she says,

The path by the beach is nice even on cloudier days.

[ Roslyn's reasons for running are slightly less multifaceted. Habit, old habit she finds difficult to shake. Even after nights she's been up late she wakes up early to take her run. Sometimes she sleeps again after, but she almost never misses it. The only times she has since she arrived here were for missions or the trip to the UE or her recent few days in the clinic.

She's seen Natasha around as well, though she's never gotten a name and she's never particularly gone searching. She'd halfway assumed they'd just continue their unspoken nod of acknowledgement and subsequent ignoring of each other forever, so the other woman's words come as a surprise.

If you're planning on running there today, you'll have company. If you don't mind.
