A Wandering Physicist [Open]

Date & Time: Anytime after she made her post about Thor being gone
Location: Her apartment, and the Hold
Characters: Jane + You
Summary: Jane's keeping busy, by trying to train, and exploring.
Warnings: Um, none? Will edit if necessary

Jane's wandering the streets, or hanging out at her apartment, or at the library. She might even be in the training areas, trying to learn how to get over her distaste for weapons to learn how to use her plasma beam gun. She may or may not be successful in the latter endeavor.

Deliberately not making like your actual reaction is where the hell did you come from when someone shows up unexpectedly has proven in the past to be highly effective a skill to possess. It allows a certain kind of omniscience, because obviously if you can't be snuck up on, then you know everything. Yay psychology. Anyway, he just keeps looking around for things.

'I've worked my way into bagging plenty of ladies. You looking for tips? Most of this crap's pretty dull.'

Dull, but ultimately useful, because as stated elsewhere, what most people consider broken and what Tony Stark considers broken are two very different things.

The ability to not jump when actually taken by surprise does not, in the-opposite-of-dull-point-of-fact, extend to being shot at. By a goddamn plasma beam. Just worth mentioning. You know, as explanation for the expletive that goes right here - and then, hah, more to follow, because this is Tony and he hasn't washed his mouth since he was about nine - and how he whirls around, really wishing he was working on building maybe some kind of weird air conditioner instead of trying to reconstitute his main means of self-defense.

'Who the shit - what was that? Was that what I think it was? I'm pretty sure that was what I think it was. Hey, are you okay?' To, you know, anyone involved. He's already done a systems check.

If there was one thing Phil could respect about Stark, it was that he'd managed to develop some pretty decent battle instincts in a fairly short time. He was around and scanning for the enemy. Phil could see where he twitched as if firing off one of his gauntlets then caught himself. Suddenly the whole picking through trash made sense. Had the suit made the trip though with him?

Just one more more thing to file away to look into later.

Meanwhile he'd swung the experimental weapon off his back and had it aimed in the general direction of the blast. He was just that good at multi-tasking.

"That was, and I'm fine," since there was no follow up shots it meant one of two things. Either it was a warning shot of some sort or it was an accident. "Explain yourselves!" he called out into the yard.

Oh. Well, that's okay then. Sort of. But at any rate, it's good enough to get him up and moving towards the sound of the voice. This is the Initiative training ground - if there's some sort of infiltration shit happening here, then fuck it, it's not even worth bothering with at that point. Healthy self-preservation instinct showing itself pretty strongly here, right.

'What, did you shoot at us to get our attention or just because you felt like knocking yourself under a pile of crap?'
