Characters: Equius and anyone that previously agreed to train with him or who shows up to while he's there
Summary: TRAINING, woooo. So lots of fighting and strife and whatever else happens. Hey maybe some bonding.
Warnings: Violence.

6am, the facility opens at 6am and that's when he arrives. Equius takes his training very seriously, and besides the mandatory training periods, is here often when he's not working with his own projects or training else where. His life isn't very different here when contrasted to what he was doing on Alternia before SGRUB. About the same, well, besides all the weird aliens here and this ridiculously bad organized Initiative trying to rope and wrangle them into silly quests.

Whatever, training is nice though, at least this place gives him more time since he'd be dead otherwise.

Equius can be found in the training facility for a while, training for himself, working up a sweat firing arrows at moving targets or working on some hand to hand. Your character might come across him accidentally breaking training equipment that's not supposed to be broken, of even smashing through the floor a little, or even a wall. Whoops. Otherwise he's rather quiet as he practices archery, or lifts ridiculous amounts of weights. Kid might be young but damn is he strong.

[OOC: FREE FOR ALL. Tag in separately like you would in any log or feel free to jump into threads with other people if your character would arrive at that time. Just give the other person a message to see if they're okay with it first.]

Okay, so she kind of conveniently forgot about his robotic expertise. The thought is something that she appreciates, and that much is pretty obvious. She considers it for a moment and then nods.

"I think that would be a great idea. That way I can learn to defend against a whole bunch of other styles without having to bother too many people. I wonder if they've got some sort of database of that kind of thing in this place." Maybe the Initiative would finally prove to be useful.

His ears perk a little at that but he doesn't show any other visual response. He certainly feels it though, tempted to smile but doesn't. Unfortunately-

"I can easily construct the robot and give it the means of using such programs for different styles. Anything more refined though I-" A pause, licking his lips.

"I would have to speak with another individual, but it can be done. If we can find existing programs for it that would also be beneficial." And he'd rather that to speaking to... Sollux about it. He knows Sollux can code but dangit, he doesn't want to make deals with him if he doesn't have to.

He totally would for Mystique though.

"Well, I can always take a look now that I know the robot thing is possible." She doesn't know enough about Sollux to know about his coding, but she also ... wouldn't be sure whether Equius working with Sollux would be good or bad. How do you troll-mance.

"Or maybe I can try and convince the Initiative to work on some sort of program. I mean, it's the least they could do after their continual screw-ups." And boy, had they been ... consistent.

They've worked together before, it's possible. Hardware junky and a software pro? Yeah, bound to be an amazing duo, they just tend to bicker and fight way more than necessary and Equius will have to owe him. Which again, for Raven? Fine with him...

"You could perhaps, yes..." They've supplied this much for training after all. But Equius dislikes trusting the Initiative so much.

She isn't thrilled about the idea of giving the Initiative more things to hold over their heads either, but they need to eventually prove themselves to her. This seems like as good a test as any, and if/when they fail, then she can ask Equius to speak to his friend.

"Have you asked them for anything lately? The Initiative."

[musclebeast]

"Never." He almost snarls as he says that. He's at the most, asked for answers, but not for anything more tangible, he doesn't need to rely on hooligans and rebels after all.

[studieswaitressing]

Well, that answers whether he trusts them or not as well. She smirks, deciding she's pleased with the answer.

"Don't trust them not to screw it up?"

[musclebeast]

"That hardly covers it."

Pause.

"And you?"

[studieswaitressing]

"I've advised a few people to go to them, but only for things that they seem to be able to handle -- have handled in the past. That doesn't mean I trust them, though."

It's complicated, okay.

[musclebeast]

A small snarl, not enjoying the sound of that, but he hardly wants to scold her.

[studieswaitressing]

"Trust me, there wasn't much of another option."

[musclebeast]

"I suppose they aren't exactly giving us many..."

[studieswaitressing]

"No, and it was a pretty -- specific request." Not that she's going to tell him about her friend needing a supply of blood. That might be misunderstood.

She doesn't know about Kanaya, though.

[musclebeast]

He'll stare for a moment, unsure about what she means and if he should ask. He realizes he doesn't really care though and dismisses it, returning to the mat.

"Shall we continue then?"

[studieswaitressing]

She nods, stepping onto the mat herself and bouncing back on her heels.

"Sounds good to me."

[musclebeast]

"Would you prefer if I was more on the defensive or offensive?"

[studieswaitressing]

"Why don't we try offensive?" Since she'd spent more than a little time working him over before.

[musclebeast]

He stares at her for a moment before licking his lips and adjusting his metal gloves. Soon he's bending down into a more offensive position, a moment to allow her to ready herself and suddenly he's darting in her direction, swinging a punch with his right hand.

She has to wonder if he's telegraphing his movements to her because he doesn't want to worry about actually hitting her, but she can't say that she minds it much. She springs herself backward when he darts at her, bending into a flip that she tries to come out of quickly.

It works, for the most part.
