[Standing to the side of the living room with a few buckets of paint at her feet, Kallen looks at the largest wall present. Even though there's furniture in front of it and all around the room, she seems to be picturing something in her mind. After a moment, she turns to the man next to her and grins.]

That one works, don't you think?

Hmm. [Taking a step back, Rookie's cocks his head to one side as he eyed the wall himself.] ... Yeah.

I think that'll do just fine.

[She nods decisively, turning to look at him,]

We should probably start getting this place ready if we want to have it done tonight.

[helljumper]

You make it sound like we're doing more than one wall.

[Something he says as he starts moving some of the furniture out of the way, glancing up at her with a teasing look.]

If you're not careful, you'll be doing all of it yourself.

[Kallen joins him, pushing an armchair away from their target.]

Right. Shutting up.

[Words spoken with a smirk, before he's drawing a hand across his mouth like it was a zipper.]

[That earns him an eye roll, but she can't help grinning all the same.]

Not for too long I hope.

[helljumper]

[His smile breaks into a grin, but the only response she gets is a shrug.]

[Kallen shrugs back.]

I guess your silence means you're willing to focus on the moving alone. In that case-- [She puts down the lamp in her hand and makes her way over to him, plopping down in the armchair he's pushing away from the wall.]

[Rookie perks up hearing that, and when seeing what she was doing went to quickly move the chair - only to sigh when she flopped down and in turn shifted to rest his arms along the back of the chair.]

All right, all right. You win. [Quirk of a smile.] I'll behave.

[ardor]

I'll believe that when I see it. It's been a while, so I forget what it looks like.

[She lets her head flop back on to his arms so she's grinning up at him.]

[He'll lean down just enough so his face is a few inches away from her's, before he's giving her a tiny little smirk.]

Might be because it's less fun.

[His smirk is met with one of her own as she reaches up and pokes his head.]

Potentially.

[helljumper]

[Rookie backs up at the poke, chuckling softly, before he's placing a quick kiss on the top of her head.] Usually.

[And then he'll wander away to a different piece of furniture, while leaving Kallen the decision of when she wanted to hop back up and help or not. Since he honestly wasn't bothered either way.]

[She laughs lightly, getting up as well and following him to help. Sitting around idly isn't her first choice for much of anything.]

We should have lunch sometime during all of this.

[Rookie was already starting to move another piece of furniture, but he'll stop and grin when she brought up lunch.]

Do you want to have it here, or are we going out?

[ardor]

We're having it here, of course. We both know if we go out, we won't be back in time to finish this today. Speaking of-- [She nods to the table he was moving.]

Let's get to work.

[... True, but he'll let his attention fall down to the table before giving another casual roll of his shoulders in response.]
