[OPEN TO ALL] 2nd DEFENSE MEETING

Location: Near the Botanical Gardens
Characters: EVERYONE AND ANYONE. Ehether it was previously arranged with Fiona, someone else did the convincing, or they just happen to be around at the right time.
Summary: Second Defense Meeting. Some chatting, some sparring, a little showing off, and everything in between.
Warnings: Swearing and violence, very yes.



[Only problem with trying to have the meeting near a botanical garden is unfortunately the spacious non-elevated scenery. At least last time there was rubble to hop on, but no matter. Near the front of the gathering crowd, Fiona will do what she can to find something to stand on and if that’s not enough she’ll tap her staff loudly onto the ground and it’ll produce a bright light for a moment. Hopefully it’s an attention grabber.]

Thank you everyone for coming to our second defense meeting. For those of you coming again and those of you here for the first time, welcome. Although this place itself is hardly one to be welcomed to, I am glad to see others here. We are trying to be a united effort and for this I say welcome to. I’m Fiona and I’m the one who has been coordinating the meetings thus far.

[A short breath as a small bitterness creeps onto her tone of voice] As I can never stress enough, those Initiative bastards here are unorganized fools who trip over themselves while we are expected to win this war of theirs for them. Although they have made some improvements since the recent battle they still lack any generals or commanders to guide us. We are our own guidance and our own defense andit is up to ourselves to keep each other safe and deliver a blow on this enemy of theirs without sacrificing each other to do so.

I won’t lie to you, this defense may not only be one against the UE. In past months the Initiative has performed… tests on those they’ve brought here. These tests have been harmful to us, from poisoning to using our own memories against us. Whatever mishap or cause that they may claim to have brought these tests about still proves their incapability to defend the very soldiers they’ve brought here unwillingly to fight. However just their cause may be, we are on our own to defend ourselves. From whatever may come against us.

For the meeting today, I hope for everyone to get to know one another. That is our greatest disadvantage. We are all from different worlds where some have magic, or technology, or neither. It is impossible to predict what each other are capable of and that is why we must learn. If we do not then lives may be lost for what we never cared to know.

Our third meeting to come we will be deciding our leaders. For as it stands there are none.

Each person attending our meetings will be able to nominate a person they see fit to lead those around them. But they will not be able to nominate themselves. Three nominations and others may vote for them. Those nominated will be allowed to make a short speech during the meeting’s time and answer questions to those concerned. At the end of the meeting we will vote. And hopefully we will have five leaders by the end of our third meeting. These leaders will be choosing groups that the rest of us will adhere to. Come our fourth meeting, we will see if the chosen leaders are the ones right for their positions and if the groups made are truly capable of defending one another.

We will not allow each other to fall.

[She’ll take a moment to look around then before nodding. At least it appears that most were listening.]

[ This is actually pretty relevant to Asami's interests. Acquainting herself with this guy might actually be helpful for the day she returns home, if that ever happens.

She sidles closer to him later for more personal conversation, because her affairs at home probably don't matter much to the group. An arm is crossed over her body while the other hand idly plays with a tuft of hair. ]

So what kind of sales do you work in?

[ You beat me, I was gonna tag you. Hello, pretty lady. You get one of his salesman smiles, though it looks a lot more genuine than cheesy.]

I worked in pharmaceutical sales, prescription drugs to doctors and the like.

[ I guess I just wanted it more 83 And hello to you, blondy. Still getting used to seeing heads of yellow around here. ]

Oh, so you must be like a medicine man! That's a worthwhile venture.

[He gives a chuckle that just this side of a laugh.] I do a little bit more business than a medicine man, I hope. I mainly deal with bulk orders, if I'm lucky.

[ She smiles without breaking eye contact. So things function differently in different worlds, she's getting it. Maintaining an understanding composure, Asami doesn't want to come across as the eighteen-year-old girl she is. ]

I see. I'm mainly asking because I'd just taken over my father's company back home, so I was wondering if you have any advice for if and when we return to our own worlds?

[Oh, a fledgling business owner? And a young one at that.] What kind of business is it?

It's called Future Industries, and our claim to fame is the Satomobile. We make cars, motorbikes, planes, construction vehicles, and this, at one point.

[ She shows him the electrified glove. ]

Anyways, it's a big project.

Ahh, cars. Not my industry, but don't make them overly complicated with a million different settings and customizations. It'll make your life hell later on when it comes to parts.

[He looks at the glove] Can I see?

[chittybang]

Yeah, sure.

[ She hands him the glove. ]

So I take it that's a problem where you come from?

[strategic_guile]

It's not a current problem with cars specifically. It's just technology in general.

[Takes the glove and turns it over in his hands slowly. His hand hovers over the circle in the middle, tracing it with a finger. He's half joking as he asks her.] Laser beam?

[But more seriously] We love customization, but the differences between models is negligible. The changes are the capacity or just cosmetic. And the cosmetic things, like cases and screens can be done by third parties quality.

[chittybang]

Good to know. Sounds like you're way ahead of us, there.

[ She smiles as she takes back the glove and slips it on. Instead of telling him he's wrong, she aims for an empty area and releases an electrical current. It connects to the leg of an empty bench. Oops. ]

It's electric.

You'll get there if you have cars. Once you master those, things really start speeding up on what you discover and learn.

[Watches the poor bench and whistles.] Very nice. I wouldn't mind one of those myself.

[Thoughtful.] Though it's interesting you have that glove and basic cars. Assuming they're even the same as what I think of in a car.
