(open) crash into me
Date & Time: Mid-afternoon Sunday, May 5th
Location: The Hold and Housing Complex
Characters: All who wish to be in the vicinity!
Summary: The Initiative asked for the Housing Complex to be evacuated starting early morning on 5/5, in preparation for the expected landing of the spaceship stolen from the United Earth. The landing goes horribly wrong when an undiscovered bomb detonates onboard the ship, causing partial engine failure. The ship proceeds to be crash landed into the Housing Complex; no lives, however, are lost.
Warnings: Spaceship crash landings it's all horrible!
Notes: Respond in action tags or prose, as you please!
The ship breaks cloud-cover as a spot of light in the dreary skies, leaving behind the beauty of sunlight above the broken cloud layer as it continues to descend. With the Initiative having instigated an evacuation of the area ahead of time, just in case, those watching in the light drizzle may find it an interesting sight to behold.
Doubtlessly, the United Earth, from its great distance, may have also found it interesting.
The first sign of something going wrong is an explosion visible from the ground. People who hear it might startle; the ship itself goes from a smooth, controlled flight path to one wobbly and filled with dark, flaming smoke. The whine of its remaining engine is slower to reach the ground, though the ship itself seems to pick up a spiraling speed, still controlled to those familiar with watching things that fly come crashing down to the ground.
The Initiative members on the ground are calling for people to get back and take cover. Inside the main Hold, one man at the transport pads hears his radio blast to life and swallows past his own fear, glancing at the active pad waiting to pull in another unlucky soul.
When the ship hits the Housing Complex, it demolishes the upper levels, though the force with which it hits doesn't seem to be the same as what it should be. Combined telekinetic buffering and excellent piloting from a former Guardian of theUniverse Galaxy keeps damage to a catastrophic minimum.
Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?

?!]
You're...?!

[Apart from the moment ago when he essentially dodged a bullet, Kenjirou has remained pretty calm so far. That non-chalance gives in a little when his eyes narrow in what is not quite a derisive expression, but certainly an exasperated one.]
...Oh.
[You know, Kenjirou actually never gave the possibility of this moment much thought. The time around which he stopped seeing this kid was one in which he was less than observant, to put it mildly. Guess his lack of presence just got lost in the commotion.]

[This is why I didn't want to leave the house, Shintaro thinks as he tries to swallow. His throat feels dry. His hands feel clammy and out of strength; he makes sure his rabbit doesn't fall. It's not like he hit his head anywhere but he feels dizzy now, and sound is muffled. His mind goes back to the flutter of a red scarf-- stop it.]
... Tateyama-san?

Kisaragi Shintaro.
[He buttons up his lab coat for once, proceeding to turn towards the boy. Once, he would have exaggerated his annoyance to an almost comedic effect, but he doesn't have the same opinion of Shintaro anymore. The one link that tied them together has faded, and Kenjirou has nothing left to protect from what he considered to be an unnecessary element intruding into her life.]
It's been some time. I assumed you transferred.
no subject
... If I did, I don't think I ever applied to any in futuristic post-apocalypse England.
[He doesn't move forward or backward as Kenjirou approaches, although he looks uneasy.]
I didn't think they would've brought you here, too.
no subject
[Even though he doesn't personally find it funny at all... but from an outsider's view, he recognizes it would be a staggering coincidence.]
[It seems like he's not making much of an effort to keep the conversation alive, but he never even thought he would direct a non-aggressive word at Shintaro in his life. So hey. Progress.]
no subject
Besides... I've only been here for a few days. I don't know enough about them to estimate anything. What about you, Tateyama-san?
no subject
I guess that doesn't tell you much about where I come from, though. It's been more than two years since I last saw you, Kisaragi.
[He's going to have to change that way of addressing him, if he doesn't want things to get confusing. Still, it's odd that he seems to be taking this demeanor. Kenjirou is usually a little more relaxed, he realizes. Is it really only because of their history?]
no subject
Likewise.
... You're my sister's teacher now, aren't you? She's here, too.
Sorry about that. Done with finals.
[He actually pieces it out immediately, especially with that feeling he was getting, but the surprise itself adds another two seconds to the wait.]
We rarely talk about anything other than school or her job, actually. I didn't imagine you were related.
no problem!
[He shakes his head. He's trying to think think think of something normal to say.]
Ha. Maybe if you're here, you can let her keep up with schoolwork while she doesn't have to worry about work.
no subject
That's what I'm thinking. Actually, though it doesn't really concern me, nobody around here seems to be getting a proper education... Apart from what the Initiative teaches you.
[Which aren't precisely the most valuable lessons to take to any non-post apocalyptic world.]

[Aliens. Robots. People not from Japan or possibly even Earth.]
