Date & Time: 4 years prior to the Vegas conference
Location: Okkan Agi R&D
Characters: Luke Skywalker, Lea, and Jaime Reyes
Summary: MISSION MISSION MISSION TIME YEAH
Warnings: N/A
Enough was enough when it came to inaction. While Jaime wasn't entirely clear on time traveling ethics and the lives that could be harmed through their actions, what he did know was that they weren't going to get anywhere without gathering some intel. He didn't bother asking anyone he knew to come along on this particular mission, and instead left it up to chance - whoever else signed up would be his partner. One would think that he would know better, considering the fact that he had been unwittingly rooming with a war criminal for a couple of months, but apparently he hadn't learned his lesson.
He waited in the Transporter room, leaning against the wall as he flipped through some of the information they already had on file as he anticipated his teammates' arrival. It seemed that this was a mission that would take a few days, but it didn't look too difficult. All that was left to do now was to meet and greet his two teammates.

Recon had remained one of his strong points, even so far removed from the Organization as he had grown, and so he figured he might as well put it to good use. Especially after the mission to Nepal, Lea was rather itching to slough off the whole Good Samaritan sheen and get back to a little good old fashioned sneaking around and poking his nose in places it didn't belong.
He had opted to leave his Organization coat behind, figuring since he was going to be working with people he likely didn't know he might as well at least make the effort to look trustworthy. Full length black leather trench coats made you look like a gangster, and that wasn't exactly the message he wanted to send. Jeans and a hoodie it was. The armored vest Riku had insisted he wear was heavy and a little cumbersome, but he wasn't going to complain. If he hadn't seen the vest in action he might have adamantly refused it, but... gift moogles in the mouth, and all.
Hands shoved into his pockets and a rather garish scarf draped loosely around his neck, Lea approached the Transporter room and spied a pair of young men already there. One was slim, with dark hair and a scruffy goatee. He looked younger than Lea would have expected. The other looked a little older, dishwater blond and slightly... caffeinated. No, really, he looked like he was really chomping at the bit to go on this mission. Well, there was a lot to be said for enthusiasm.
Lifting a hand in a casual wave as he advanced, Lea inclined his chin a little in greeting.
"Yo," he said; "this where the party's happening?"

Jaime didn't look like anything special, which was precisely his intent. Decked out in jeans and a t-shirt with a backpack slung casually over one shoulder, he looked for the world like one of the students that were to be given a tour of the facilities today. People tended not to notice Jaime, which he hoped would prove to be a boon on today's mission.

"So how do we wanna do this, boys?" he asked then, shoving his hands back into his pockets. "I've got about ten years' worth of professional recon experience under my belt, so if we wanna divvy up duties, that's prolly the one I'm best suited for."

He paused to flip through the pages again, skimming over what had to be done for what felt like the tenth time. He wanted to be sure. "Well, looks like we're doing this over a few days, so I hope you guys scheduled some time off. First things first, we're shadowing the guys to their offices, so maybe we can each take one, and at least one of us is gonna be able to pull it off. You could probably pass as a repairman or something, Luke, and I figure I can just blend in with one of the field trips going inside the building."
And if Lea wasn't just bragging, then there was no need to worry about him. "After that, we can meet back up, see what we've got. How does that sound?"

"Sounds good to me. Shouldn't be too hard, right?"
Spoke like someone young and cocky.

"Well don't go thinking I'm some kind'a fogey," he chided, and sort of shrugged. "I got... recruited young, you might say." And that was about all he was going to say. He grinned at Luke then. He kind of liked this kid's style. "Just don't expect it to be too easy," he said, wagging a finger; "better to prepare for the worst, got it memorized?"
And then he shoved his hands back into his pockets.
"Well, shall we, then?" he asked, gesturing to the Transport pad. "The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can come home and brag about the awesome job we did, right?"
At least that was what he was planning on doing.

It had gotten to the point where Jaime wasn't even surprised when people around here had been put into situations where they were expected to fight or to otherwise act as adults when they were far, far too young for it. He wasn't, however, self-aware enough to acknowledge the same for himself.
"Okay!" He said, bouncing a little on the balls of his feet before leaning over the Transporter's controls to punch in their destination. "Let's do this thing."
With a push of the button, they were no longer in a winter wasteland, but a little ways away from a busy looking open area, diverted just enough so that nobody would notice the three figures suddenly appearing in the middle of the place.
"So plan is, we get in there, find the locations we need, and meet back here by the end of the day? There's probably enough for us to learn around here even without shadowing them, so..."
