A meeting of the minds
Date & Time: 11-09 Morning (backdated)
Location: Training room
Characters: Alice and Lee Chaolan
Summary: Alice and Lee discuss training methods that can be used in any situation.
Warnings: None (Maybe)
As promised, Lee brought the coffee in a metal thermal container and a two cups. He hardly went a day without coffee. This was a serious discussion and with a very serious cause. He wasn't about the escape, he was about survival. Escape could come later once they find their opening.
So far, Lee's purpose was to make life a little less boring if he could help it. What better way than training. Lots of training. Fighting was a way of life for Lee. It solved problems, made friends, showed affection, negotiated business, or it simply got the point across who was the better. In this case, it would prove how the two can work together.
Lee knew that in order to get anything done, being idle wasn't the way to do it. He was already working. He had his basics down with the start of recycling materials, refining them and making them into something useful.
Now, all that was left to do was learn more about what they were dealing with than relying on rumors, speculation and half-truths through perspective. Lee was never idle for long.
He leaned on one of the tables with his back turned to rest on the edge as he checked the temperature on the digital display that was built into the thermos.
"This world isn't all that bad if we can make it ours instead of theirs." He mused. He grew tired of being a puppet.

Sorry for the slow, I've got a chest cold that's knocked me for a loop
Her hair was brushed back neatly and she was wearing the suit she had gotten from Umbrella Prime, it was easy to move and fight in and it breathed surprisingly easy. Then again, it was a product of Umbrella. As she entered the training room, she caught what he said and gave a small laugh.
"I wouldn't want it, honestly."
Oh no! I'm so sorry you're suffering. I hope you feel better soon.
"You're right. It's too disgusting." He playfully wrinkled his nose. "It's filled with corruption so awful that we would have too much to clean up. Could you imagine the bill?"
He eyed her outfit and nodded. "Nice outfit. I see you are completely prepared for the weird I've heard about this place."
Seeing a dr. tomorrow for it :3
"Too much work, we're better off trying to fix our own worlds." She smirked and then placed her hand on her hip, following along with the playfulness.
"Can never go wrong with black leather."
Oh, that's good. I hope it's nothing serious.
He leaned back against the table and picked up the thermos to serve the coffee. "So, with that being said, I suppose your assessment is just as sound about the assumptions that we're only here to do the dirty work. Still, it intrigues me just how screwed up the world could possibly get. I have enough of that back home." He handed Alice her cup.
"Personally, I would rather not be in either place and take my remaining years in the Bahamas."
I'm sure it's nothing :3
With a grin, she accepted the cup and inhaled the scent appreciatively. It's been years since she's smelled coffee, let alone drink it. Alice hadn't actually realized how much she missed it.
"Sounds like a plan. Maybe I'll take Becky and head that way once my world is taken care of."
I hope so too.
"I think the both of you will find it very welcoming." He smiled in thought. He lived there a good part of ten years and loved every moment of it even if he was working. Lee knew that the chances of meeting again outside this place was slim to none, but at least the thought was there. Perhaps they would remember each other but that was highly doubtful judging by the time distance wasn't too conventional by any means.
He was certainly enjoying his present company even if it's just idle chat for the moment.
And it's already passing!
"Anywhere specific we should visit when we get there?" Maybe the virus hadn't spread that far. She could steal a helicopter and--
No, Alice wasn't that heartless. She wouldn't leave the humans that were left to die because of the Red Queens psychosis.
That's great news!
His eyes looked to Alice with curiosity. It was speculated by some that he was the other half to Steve Fox's DNA but that was never proven and he wouldn't talk about it.
"I bet she's as wonderful as her mother." He sipped his coffee before he addressed the question.
Setting the cup down gingerly, his head turned toward the placed cup, he thought about the best possible places she could go. He exhaled with his head turned toward the ceiling in a light contemplative expression. "Let's see, for a mother-daughter outing, I recommend the Atlantis Resort. It has just about everything you can think of including a water park and a petting zoo."
:3
If only Alice knew how to be a mother now. Maybe she could get some advice from people around here that had kids. Not now, of course, but eventually.
"Sounds like something she would enjoy. Especially after all she's gone through. No kid needs that."
no subject
Lee was in the similar boat when it came to children. Somehow, he managed to do decently well with a few but as a whole, he would rather not become too involved if he could help it. There were too many things that could wrap a child up in dangerous espionage that wouldn't do well for anyone and he certainly didn't need one to be used as leverage against him.
He pulled himself from the leaning position on the edge of the table to turn and face Alice squarely. "I think you'll find instinct plays a major role in protection and the basic needs. Social needs are a bit more fluid. It's requires a lot of trial and error, unfortunately. Plenty of books have been written but not a single one is proven one hundred percent true. Children vary. As long as you remember what it was like for you as a child, you could use that as a guide."
Lee wasn't sure why he said it, it could be that he was trying to help, but if the time ever came that he would be a father his own memories would only serve as a baseboard for the early years. Anything after that wouldn't be so well thought out. His own childhood didn't have a lot of love to support him and he had to become independent from the time he was twelve to the present.

"It's worth trying. She's a smart kid anyway, shouldn't be too hard." Sign language wasn't hard to learn but Becky had it down. Alice had to think a bit when using it.
"Anyway, we're here to plan training, right? The Initiative already has us training but it just doesn't seem adequate."
no subject
He wiped his hands on the backs of his thighs on the leather. The Initiative training was lacking considerably and he certainly didn't want to be caught unawares much like so many other times in his past.
"What kind of hand to hand skill do you possess before we start?" He said the moment he started his stretching and warm-up. He was incredibly flexible for a man with defined muscle.
no subject
She watched him with a grin as he started stretching, setting her gun aside after a moment to do a few stretches herself. Alice was glad for the years of fighting and surviving, she was pretty limber herself.
"I definitely wouldn't want a group of hand fighters having to put up with me."
no subject
Truth be told, he would rather limit the use of his rapier unless he was going up against something that wasn't too friendly. "Martial arts come in all different types. You seem more like the direct sort."
no subject
Like dealing with people here who annoyed her or acted out in a way that upset other Transports. She may not necessary like many people here, hell she's barely made a couple friends here, but that doesn't mean she won't stick by her beliefs.
"I definitely like being direct."
