( OPEN ) santa claus is coming to town

Summary: Someone made the mistake of telling Snow about Santa - now there's a two meter tall hobo walking around dressed as him. Oops?

[ A few days ago, Snow had no idea what Christmas even was.

Now? Now he's driving around on his bike with a giant sack over one shoulder, dressed in a Santa outfit that looks entirely ridiculous on him. His fake beard is awful, and he hasn't yet figured out who the guy is beyond 'wears red and gives gifts', but that's more than enough for him.

Whenever he spots anyone (familiar or not), he hits the brakes; offering a friendly wave and dumping the sack onto the snow-covered ground. ]

Hey there! [ Wait no what was he supposed to say... ] Merry Christmas, right?

[ And Sophie offers a friendly greeting back, mimicking Snow's waving gesture exactly. It's kind of... awkward. Hearing "Merry Christmas" though, she gives a head tilt. Never heard of it. ]

...mm. No. My name is Sophie.

[ Well... maybe she's just friendly! Snow blinks at the response, before shaking his head. ]

It's just a greeting, kiddo. They say that stuff around this time of year. [ Look at him, sounding all informed. ]

[ She's friendly and most times, incredibly derpy. Yes, inform her, Snow. She will suck that information up like a sponge. ]

...They do? But why? I've never heard of it.

[stonewall]

No clue. [ At least he's honest?? If... not a very in-character Santa. ] We didn't have this kind of thing back home, but I figured I'd get in on the action.

[ He tugs at his fake beard, and waves down towards the sack. If you ask him, there are no negatives to this situation. ]

[It's hard to miss that rumble of a bike even in the snow. Mei turns around, in the midst of delivering some goodies to friends herself, and can't help but raise an eyebrow at the sight.

Is this guy supposed to be Santa or something?]

Um, you know that Santa rides around on Sawbucks... right?

[Sawbucks. Reindeer. Same difference.]

[ It's not as if Snow knows any better, anyway. He's only seen pictures. ]

Yeaaaah, I read about something like that. [ He rubs the back of his head, glancing down at his bike. ] But there's not a whole lot of those around. Shiva gets the job done just fine.

[ Rika's out in the snow today, lingering around her snowman with banana-mangos for horns. She's patting more snow onto it until she hears the sound of the bike.

Could he be the one who left behind the stuffed penguin?! Nah. She would have heard this guy coming. ]

... [ Of course, she can totally tell it's Snow behind that beard, but she'll play around today. ] Merry Christmas to you too, Santa Claus☆ Have you delivered all your gifts yet?

[Tyki was just out for a smoke, sheltering under an awning for some protection from the weather. England is still a drippy place. His eyes pop wide when Snow brakes in front of him.

It's not that he doesn't know what Christmas is. Mostly it's just that this is hilarious.]

Oh, well, hello.

( for a long moment, Hope just has to stare. because really. he isn't surprised though, this sort of thing just screams 'Snow'. )

Snow... what are you doing? ( a beat, and then onto the important part. ) Merry what?

[And here we've some kid in weird skates trudging through the slush—until Snow drives into sight and he's got to stop walking to stare properly. No offense, but he reminds Kazu a little of the fishiest kind of Santa. Maybe it's the bike. Maybe it's the everything.

He crooks a questioning finger at himself after looking around and finding nobody else Snow could be addressing.]

Uh... Could use less snow, but I guess it's been okay. [ beat ] Thanks?

[She has to smile at that. He's trying, she guesses, and spreading Christmas cheer! You can't afford to be too critical of that.]

Well, if I had one of mine here, you could have borrowed that.

[And naming your bike? Talk about kind of strange, but that might be sort of a guy thing too...]

...Shiva?

[stonewall]

[ Oh good, someone okay with humouring him. The grin on his face says it all. ]

Not yet! [ He reaches into his bag, pulling out a hat and tossing it over to her. After a moment, he sticks his hand in again, producing a second one, which he moves to put on the snowman. ] Here you go, kiddo. Got something for your friend here too.

[ Hopefully it won't get bullied for having poor fashion sense. ]

[ To be fair, Snow knows he looks silly. He just doesn't care at all. ]

Rain getting in the way, huh? [ He's a little soaked himself, but that doesn't dim his cheery attitude any. ]

[ WELCOME TO CHRISTMAS HOPE ]

It's a holiday here. There's supposed to be a guy who gives out presents to everyone. [ And that's... about the extent of his knowledge, really. He waves down at his outfit with a grin. ] Not bad, huh?

[stonewall]

[ It's definitely the everything. ]

The snow's half the fun, kiddo. [ He should know, he helped make it all. But if it's going to be an issue... he reaches into the sack, pulling out a pair of gloves and throwing them over. ] Catch.

[stonewall]

Maybe next time.

[ Assuming they're all still here next Christmas, anyway - but he doesn't think about those things. Shrug! ]

And yeah, Shiva. Something wrong with that? [ He clearly means it as a joke. Experience has taught him already that people usually doubletake at his bike having a name, but he at least has good reason for it. ]

[—whoa. A little slow on his wheels thanks to the snow, Kazu fumbles the gloves at first, but manages to hang on to them. They get a look that's all raised brows and casual appreciation, then he's scuffing his way closer as he waves them in the air at Snow.]

Caught! This mean I get to keep 'em?

Hmm. Maybe Asbel hasn't told me about it yet. I'll have to ask him if we have that in my world. [ If she ever sees him again! Sophie looks Snow over once, then lowers her gaze towards the sack. ]

What's the bag for? And why are you wearing a lot of red?

[miiracles]

[ Aw, how nice. Something to keep her head warm. She accepts the hat, immediately placing it on top of her head. Yes, she has been such a good child to deserve a wonderful gift! ]

Thank you very much, Santa Claus.

[ She glances at her frowning snowman for a moment, like she's having some silent conversation with it. Then she grins. ]

My hat is better.

If there is a next time. [It's said without any malice though, but she's hopeful that she won't spend a whole year here.]

Not really? [She gives a small, helpless laugh.] I'm just not used to people naming their motorcycles I guess! People, pets, Pokemon, sure! But, not names for vehicles.

[stonewall]

You think so?

[ SQUINTING as he tries to decide for himself. Snow Villiers: Professional Hat Judge. ]

Well, so long as he's happy. Not many other snowmen around with a hat like that. [ Or... any at all, for that matter. There's probably good reason for that. ]

Eh, don't sweat it. You're not the only one.

[ Even some other people he'd talked to didn't have a clue. It seemed like anyone not from this world didn't recognize the name, even if the date rang a bell. ]

The red's a part of the deal. In the story, there's a guy dressed like this who gives out presents. [ He hefts the sack again. ] That's what the bag is for.

Wouldn't be much of a gift if I took it back.

[ He grins, leaning against his bike as Kazu gets closer. All this Santa stuff is exhausting. ]

If you wanna grab some stuff for your friends, go ahead. There's enough in here to go around. [ what is sticking to tradition ]

She's a bit of a special case.

[ He winks, just as there's a bright flash of light from the bike - after a second, it splits into two women. The pair stare for a few moments, before reforming into the bike without a word.

Maybe normal vehicles don't get a name, but he likes to think Shiva is an exception to the rule. ]

[He tears his eyes off Snow's bike to peek in the sack, curious but not actually trying to take anything.]
