[A slight nod of approval and she smiles a little wider.] Good!

[When he leaves his room she'l start walking to the elevators with a brief bounce in her step.] I was bored, and I figured you were probably bored too. [Or, you know, sitting alone in silence in your room or something.] Would it kill the initiative to get some cable for us?

[definitely sitting in silence in his room. What a loser] I guess they're too busy honing us into soldiers to worry about cable television.

Isn't morale supposed to be a factor though? What's better morale than mindless TV and the occasional comedy?

Never thought of it like that. Maybe that's something we can look into. God knows we can use the break.

[breakablegirl]

Yeah, really. I'd suggest even a carnival or something, but we know how- [The joke ends abruptly and she clears her throat. Oh yeah. Peter hasn't been there yet.] Nevermind. [She adds with a light chuckle.]

A carnival? [wait you can't leave him hanging like that] Something in my future, right? I miss out on everything.

I'd tell you more but there's the butterflies we probably shouldn't step on. [That's an outright lie. She isn't telling him more because of very specific reasons. Reasons that through her association with past-Sylar here she is already trying to change by herself. She knows Peter well enough to know he probably shouldn't know.] Let's just say, bad track record with carnivals.

Butterflies. [fuck those butterflies. His future self pretty much wiped out an entire colony of them. But they're not going to talk about that]

[A pause and her voice takes on a more serious tone.] It's weird, isn't it? How everyone from home is here from different times?

[it's not a great way of dealing with things, but he learned it from his parents]

Yeah, it is. You're so much more grown up than I remember.

[A humorless hint of a chuckle.] Time does that.

[She pauses to open up the door to the outside for them. Once outside, she takes a deep breath of the cool air.] Anything new? Any interesting people you've met?

[and it's that unknown gap of time that bothers him. What sort of things had she seen and done since that moment at Kirby Plaza? Too many unanswered questions]

A few. There's this girl named Mystique.. I talked with her during the masquerade. My roommate is interesting, too. There's something about her I can't put my finger on.

Mystique's cool, did she show you what she can do?

Yeah, she did. [not blushing by the way, so just ignore the color in his cheeks] Pretty incredible.

[She sees it, and what follows is an ever-increasing grin and just a knowing LOOK at him.] Pretty pretty, too.

[Playful nudge with her elbow.] Oh yeah, I bet.

[FULL ON OBVIOUS TEASING NOW.]

[god why did he even start this conversation] You're enjoying this too much.

[Claire grins.] Maybe.

It's not every day I can tease my uncle about a ~love connection~.

I get the feeling my love life doesn't improve much back home. [since, you know, his girlfriends tend to die or get lost in time]

[breakablegirl]

[SHRUG.] I wouldn't know for the most part.

..But you do kind of have a habit of holing up and doing the selfless hero act. Which is fine by me, that's why I like you so much. But you alone is not something I want to see.

[spongetastic]

I'm not sure how being in a place that wants us to fight battles will be much better for me, but you never know. It is nice being around people with abilities... Not having to hide who we are.

[breakablegirl]

...Yeah. [And her smile fades pretty rapidly.

Speaking of people with powers, Peter. SPEAKING OF.]

You uh.. I'm going to tell you something about your future okay? But don't ask me too many questions.

... [She takes a breath, runs a hand through her hair.]

You lose your main ability, Peter. To hold onto all of the abilities at once. ...You eventually, can only hold onto one at a time.

So.... You only have mine when you touch me and absorb it. [Cautious look.]
