MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA

Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.

The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.

The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.

The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.

And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.

Very bad move.

[The rings changed form, answering the silent need as Takegami moved one arm up to block the punch and swung his own punch. The rings had shifted from protection to attack, the edges sharp enough to shred through clothing and skin. It hurt him a little, but it was worse for anyone receiving the punch.

And once that caused the guard to fall, Takegami pinned the guard's arm against his side and spun, tossing him at the wall. He could have killed the man, but that would not look good for someone who claims to be jsut a normal person. Sighing, he flexed his fingers, the rings shifting back to their innocent-looking mode.]

Excellent!

[Lee's eyes finally caught glimpse of the shifting metal and a grin formed behind the helmet. His tone carried it and a thumbs up in response.]

I wouldn't want to piss you off.

[With a quick turn of his head, Lee looked down the hall.]

I'll ask about the name of your jeweler another time. Right now, we've got company.

[He pulled the rapier from his side that shifted into a pipe with a rapier's grip instead of the bladed weapon. The pearl handled pistol remained untouched. He didn't feel it necessary to kill anyone. Knocking them out, that was free game.]

And he's moving to pin Zelos to the ground with the palm of his clawed hand, talons caging around his neck. Practically screeching:]

You killed them—!

[In case you hadn't noticed.]

[And since Zelos can't really match Allen in raw strength with that claw? Consider him pinned]

[Also looking at Allen like he grew a second head because seriously this is like freaking out over a baker baking for Zelos]

Well yeah! They were trying to kill me and this is a battle! What did you expect?

"Yes, and they've given themselves the more favorable angle, haven't they? The freedom fighters."

There's more than one way to win a war. Half of us are on another mission--didn't you see them splitting us up? The battle itself is only part of what's going on, and the longer it lasts the better chance the rest of us will have.

And the possibility that at least some of what they've told us is the truth hasn't crossed your mind?

"I've noticed that," There's a little bitterness in her tone, a sort of awareness that it's exactly the angle that would work on her, if they hadn't kidnapped her.

"Do you think they're teling the truth?"

She pauses, at that, and lets out a little sigh. "I think even if they are, it isn't all of the truth. And that might be worse, or more duplicitous, than not telling us anything at all."

[ But a classic!! ]

[She was hardly peturbed by Clive's treatment, but even more amused. To her, he was so cute when he glared and scowled in such a way, and it made her want to embarrass him even more. The fact that Remy stepped in also added to her amusement. Most didn't know, however, that the way Clive reacted was his own defense mechanism when dealing with situations he was unaccustomed to.]

You don't have time for my nonsense?

[Her tone was amused, to say the least, and it was obvious to all involved that she was far from offended by Clive's abrupt attitude. Regarding Remy, she smiled pleasantly.]

He's not used to being social.

[gevurah]

Police aren't always so understanding. [ Hence why she avoids them. ]

[Clive turned his glare on the other man, shaking his head in his cloak before huffing noisily.] Of course it's not polite, but if you had to deal with her antics all the time, you wouldn't be either.

[He took a step back, giving himself room but also putting them both on good angles for his eyes, his hands and whatever might come up in them at any moment. He narrowed his eyes at Elza, and he knew she was amused. This was clearly not an opportunity she could have passed up.]

Alright, you showed me off. Get back to work.

[He twisted his neck slightly, setting his shoulders back and rolling his arms. The rings shifted again, the wires settling to their more innocent look of simple jewelry, but at his words, they shifted, covering his hands.]

The ring set is my weapon. As you can see, they are very good at adapting to meet my needs.

[He smiled, dipping his head and watching through the fall of his hair the advancing group. They too seem to be armed with thoughts to catch and disable and not kill. Fine. He'll play nice unless they do something to make him mad. For now, he'll just his rather formidable skills in hand-to-hand, aided by the weight and edge provided to his blows by his weapon.]

[Seven guards round the corner and it was enough to block their path. Lee didn't waste any time and sent one to the ground with a kick and grapple move with his leg. A quick punch to the back of the guard's head was all that was needed to knock the first one out.

The second one attempted to hit Lee on the back of the head with the cattle prod. He grabbed the leading arm, stood up and using the momentum of a back flip, he sent that one against the guard behind him.]

[Nick snorts in amusement.]

Yeah, that'd be nice. Maybe one of these days they'll send us to Hawaii or the Bahamas or something.

... [ Some quiet reluctance and then a small sigh: ] I'll try.

[ It doesn't look like she really wants to, but she'll try for Jack. And she needs a distraction. She sets her plow down to the side and prods at the ice a little with her foot. ]

Do I just step onto the ice?

...yes. I was caught up in some trouble. I'm fine now. [ "Fine" as in she's back to her current self. She was stuck in the makeshift daycare most of the time. ]

So, you know magic? That's amazing. [ A half-hearted smile. ] Are you going to be heading to the labs?

They send us back and forth in time often enough that you can interact with people that way. But they obviously aren't familiar with our more pressing situation.

Getting out of their England, to the conquered territory... I'm not sure how one would even manage it.
