Coffee, Donuts, and Lots and Lots of Teasing. :3

Date & Time: March 6th, the afternoon
Location: Somewhere in the city ~~MY, "the city"~~, and ending up at a coffee shop most likely!
Characters: Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, Blaine Thorps
Summary: What happens when two mages encounter a troll who found it way too fun to tease them? ... a helluva lot more teasing, that's what.
Warnings: Probably none!

Morning training was always brutal on poor Lucy's body, especially considering it was Erza who was putting them through those drills. But it would be worth it in the end, even if she felt like she couldn't move afterwards. So immediately after training she'd informed her friends she was going back to her unit to have a shower. After that was done, she then decided to head outside again for a walk and possibly get a coffee and donut from a shop nearby. She'd meet up with Natsu again later (or sooner than she thinks), but for the meanwhile, coffee and donut was on the agenda. Also meeting certain trolls that teased her the other day, but shh, she didn't know she was going to run into Blaine yet.

Blaine had finished with his morning training as well. He'd showered and pulled his hair back into a ponytail before donning a newsboy styled hat to keep out the ever present rain. Upon leaving the apartment building, a face he had only recently been introduced to caught his eye. He gave a half-grin and wandered over.

"Already out this early in the morning?" he asked, giving her a friendly smile.

Lucy rolled her shoulder slightly when she heard the voice, blinking in surprise. She knew that voice - give her a second to place it. "My friends and I have extremely early training at the center. I've been up since five - not that big of a deal for a lot of people, I think, but I'm used to sleeping in to a more sensible time."

She chuckled slightly, "I feel like I'm still half asleep."

Blaine laughed. "I don't see five in the morning very often, but I was up around six. So where are you going now?"

He was planning on just a walk to cool down and finish waking up from his stretching, but he was always up for a detour.

Even a sleepy Lucy brain could process things - though at a slower speed, so as she responded, she was working to place the name to go with the voice.

"To a little coffee shop on the corner. I still need to wake myself up and get something to eat. You're welcome to join me, if you like."

Tick tick tick. OH! "You're Blaine, right?" A little hesitance there because she wasn't sure. And then a lot of hesitance because if she was right - oh dear lord what did she just get herself into. Maybe she could still clear up the confusion!

It's not too late! ~~Yes it is.~~

"I'll take you up on that. I could use breakfast now that I'm warmed up for the day."

Her hesitation as she said his name amused him. He'd had a lot of fun joking around with the lot of them, her especially. Teasing people was just fun all around though, and how fortunate for him that he was meeting her in person so soon after their first conversation.

"I am. Good to meet you in person, Lucy."

Ohhhhhhhhh dear. Well. She'd just have to clearly explain that there was nothing between her and Natsu other than a very very close friendship ~~that bordered on more than friendship.~~

She probably was going to be about as successful as she was with anyone else, but sigh. "Okay - it's not far from here. Just a block over that way, really." So saying, she started off, considering how to approach the subject of the other evening.

"Oh, it's good to meet you in person too! Talking over those network devices is always so impersonal - I prefer meeting people." Doo de doo. Once at the coffee shop, she's nice enough to open the door to let him pass her by first - because equal rights and stuff.

Now, how is he supposed to look at her ass if she's coming in behind him? He just laughs at her opening the door and moves on through with a 'thank you'. "This is a decent place. Their drinks at least taste a little bit like coffee."

But in turn he slides out her chair and gestures for her to sit in it. We can have a chivalry-off, no problem. "What would you like?"

Oh that is a dilemma indeed. How does he look at her ass if she goes in after him. Answer: He doesn't. BWAHAHAHH oh well unless she gets up for napkins or something but yeah.

"Yeah, I recommended this place to a friend of mine, Haruto, too. Mostly because of the donuts." But she didn't want something that sweet this early in the morning, so after a brief quirk of an eyebrow, she smiled and slid into the chair.

"I think I'll just have a bagel with a little butter, and some coffee. I don't want to eat too heavily in the morning. What are you getting?"

"Breakfast is the biggest meal of the day," he replied, tsking at her light meal. "Gotta eat a lot of calories while my body is still burning them off from exercise. I'm getting the full course."

He tucked the chair under her as she sat and he took a half step towards the counter. "Do you want it black or do I need to bring over some creamer and sugar?"

Bah, she'd probably make herself something more hardy later, she was only in the mood for something light. "Well I did have a little something before I left for training so I wouldn't be hungry." Although if he got bacon, all bets were off. Bacon had the power to make anyone hungry.

"Cream and sugar, please." She can't take the bitterness of black coffee.

Getting settled, she glanced towards the window absently, gathering her thoughts. How best to approach this... well with total honesty of course. (Honesty born out of denial but honesty no less. )

Blaine ordered the food, paid, and came back down to sit while it was being prepared. He brought two cups back in one hand and a small handled, metal basket that had a carafe of creme and a small pot of sugar. He set it down on the table first and then the two mugs.

"Here you do," and he slid hers over to her. "The food'll be ready in a minute."

He took a sip from his cup, which was filled with a breakfast tea mix of some sort, before asking, "What kind of training do you do in the morning?"

Catching sight of Blaine paying for the food, Lucy reached into her wallet to take out some money. "Thanks. How much do I owe you?"

What - she couldn't just let him pay for her, that was datelike! "Oh, well, a little physical training to build up my muscles, and training for my spirits- meditation, mostly, to increase my stamina. Natsu and Erza are usually sparring against each other, so sometimes I watch them."

"Don't worry about it," he said, waving a hand dismissively at her wallet.

"Your spirits? I have a feeling you don't mean alcoholic spirits." If she had to train for that, he wasn't sure what to think.

"Eeh? No way, I can't let you pay for me...!" But she's distracted from the protest at that latter comment, laughing as she reached for the creamer.

"No no, I mean my celestial spirits. They're friends of mine, who fight alongside me in battle."

"And meditation helps you train to fight with them?" There are stranger things, but he finds that interesting as he sips his tea. He totally ignores her attempts to pay.

"It's part of it," Maaan. If this was a proper restaurant she could ninja a tip there or something. She'd have to even it up somehow. "Meditating allow me to be able to increase the magic energy I use to summon them- the more magic I have, the stronger my spirits are."

"But what about you? How do you do your training?"

"So you're a mage? Ahhh, more people with magic. I'm really feeling left out, here." He says it playfully though, and lifts up his arm to flex, yeah look at that muscle. "Just physical training using resistance, some weights, and a lot of running."

"Yes. Everyone in Fairy Tail is - that's myself, Natsu, Erza, and Juvia." And Natsu was pretty ripped too. Actually so was Gray - they destroy the trope that mages were physically weak. Even Erza, who wasn't overly muscled, was ridiculously powerful.

She pauses to take a sip of the coffee, thoughtful. "If you need someone to spar against, I don't think Erza would mind training with you, or even Natsu." Because it'd been at least what, thirty seconds since she last mentioned her friend?

"I think Erza would beat me too badly," he laughed, lifting his hands in a fending off motion. He had talked to her once before, and threatened him about using her nickname. He hadn't used it, mostly because he hadn't talked to her again since. "A woman called 'Titania' may be too fierce even for me."

"I may give Natsu a try. We can battle it out for your affections~"

"Oh, you've met Erza? When?" She wanted to hear about this! Though she giggles a bit, nodding agreement, "There's a reason she's called Titania. She's one of the strongest mages in Fairy Tail, with her requip magic."

And smiling, "I'm sure he'll like that; he always like having strong people to fi-" She promptly CHOKED on her drink, grabbing a napkin to quickly cover her mouth lest she accidentally spit it out again.

"M.. My what?!"
