Coffee, Donuts, and Lots and Lots of Teasing. :3
Date & Time: March 6th, the afternoon
Location: Somewhere in the cityMY, "the city", and ending up at a coffee shop most likely!
Characters: Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, Blaine Thorps
Summary: What happens when two mages encounter a troll who found it way too fun to tease them? ... a helluva lot more teasing, that's what.
Warnings: Probably none!
Morning training was always brutal on poor Lucy's body, especially considering it was Erza who was putting them through those drills. But it would be worth it in the end, even if she felt like she couldn't move afterwards. So immediately after training she'd informed her friends she was going back to her unit to have a shower. After that was done, she then decided to head outside again for a walk and possibly get a coffee and donut from a shop nearby. She'd meet up with Natsu again later (or sooner than she thinks), but for the meanwhile, coffee and donut was on the agenda. Also meeting certain trolls that teased her the other day, but shh, she didn't know she was going to run into Blaine yet.

"If that's the case, then does that mean I have no competition?"

"... Stop joking around!" Blushing fiercely. So so much blushing. She grabbed the sugar, adding it to her cup, scoop by scoop. S.. she might be making the tea a little too sweet though, but hey.
no subject
"Who says I'm joking?" He watched her for a few seconds, dumping sugar into her coffee. "You won't be able to taste the coffee."
no subject
... never mind Lucy herself wasn't sure how she felt about her best friend beyond that she adored him. Platonically. If Blaine was serious, this just got a whole lot more complicated.
"Wha?" She glanced down at her sugar coffee, making a face. "..." Seriously it looked like there were eight scoops in there, "I.... I should get a refill then." Unless someone actually LIKED eight scoops of sugar in their coffee, but she hastily pushed her chair back, her mind scrambling around Blaine's words, wondering if he was really being serious. Ohgod someone halp.

He didn't really pick up on Blaine since his scent was just as new as any other stranger's. And it wasn't Lestat's either so in a way, he was walking into this unexpected situation, blind.
Just as Lucy pushed back, he stepped in through the door, the bell jingling and announcing his arrival. Not that he didn't have that covered on his own.
"There you are, Lucy!" See what I mean?
no subject
"Sure you're not taken?" he asked, and up went his cup for another sip.

Clutching the cup of coffee, Lucy got to her feet, only to startle at the sound of the bell and Natsu's voice. "Natsu..." She thought they were going to meet up later? "What are you doing here?" Not that she wasn't happy to see him. Come come, join them, there were plenty of chairs.
Attention going back to Blaine, her cheeks darkened again, "I-I already told you it isn't like that!" Which still left her without a way of dealing with Blaine if his comment was serious. "Anyway I'm going to get another coffee -I... I'll be right back." Play nice with Natsu. And don't stare as she wandered over to the counter to get fresh refill.
no subject
"What do you mean? I just followed your scent since we were going to meet up." Natsu answered with a raised eyebrow before taking note of her state. The rosy color in his cheeks, he couldn't help his eyes as they drifted back to Blaine. Who was this guy anyway and why did his voice feel familiar?
Regardless he invited himself to a spare chair, never taking his eye off Blaine. He was going to so watch him.

... well technically some time had passed, so it was later...
Anyway while she was at that counter she also ordered a spiced drink for Natsu, since she knew he'd join them at the table. Wandering back towards said table, she put the drinks down and reclaimed her seat, feeling the slightest bit awkward. "Natsu, this is Blaine." She added, by way of introduction.
"We... spoke to him the other night.." Ahem.

Natsu also watched Lucy go though he snapped out of it when he noticed Blaine was doing the same. He's watching you, buddy. The comment about his sense of smell does give them a different topic to consider.
"Yea it comes with having a dragon as a dad. " That's right Cassanova. This princess has a dragon as the guardian. And she returned just in time. Oooh with a drink for him too. When Lucy introduced them though he quickly filed that information away in his memory. Only to then connect the two dots.
"You!? You're that guy?! "

The second it took for Natsu to connect the dots gave Blaine just enough time to prop his chin on the back of his hand and wait for it. A hot headed guy like this though, he was prepared to jump back and out of the way pretty fast. He gave his most charming of grins. "Good to meet you, Natsu."

"Oh really? That's good I suppose." Naturally he presumed that the misunderstanding in question was the whole having Gray tied up in her closet or something like that.
no subject
"As far as I can tell, I haven't misunderstood anything," he said with a smile. Then he took his first bite of egg.

But at Blaine's comment, Lucy slumped at the table, letting her forehead nearly clunk against it with a small whine. "But we've been over this - what even gives you the idea that -- that --" She straightened a little, glancing at Natsu out of the corner of her eye, "I'm telling you the truth, we're just friends!" And that kiss was... just ... it was because she was curious and wanted to know and ...
"What gives you the idea otherwise?" The blushing? The flustered glances? Bah, that could be ANYONE. Still Lucy wasn't looking directly at Natsu for this conversation in the least. "What do I have to do to prove it already?"
Whoah there Lucy. That's a loaded question.
no subject
"I don't see why you gotta do anything..." he piped up with a grumble. Lucy's business was her own and the approval of others could matter less. At least that was how Natsu saw it.
no subject
"He's your very own dragon tail," he said, swallowing what was in his mouth. "Guys don't follow a girl around like that just out of camaraderie."
Not many, anyway. And from what Natsu told him it definitely wasn't that, anyway. "The blushing is really cute," he purred, "and tells me more than your mouth is." Then he shoveled another few forkfuls of egg into his mouth and bit off a piece of toast.

She did eye the bacon briefly, but instead focused on her bagel. Mm, bread. "Natsu does," she countered instead, "That's just the way he is. Besides-" she was attacked by a vampire and none of her guild mates wanted to see her suffer that way again.
Wait, what did Natsu tell you - she only followed the part up to where he mentioned the kiss. "You're just twisting things around now and reading too much into things!" She polishes off the coffee in front of her, glancing briefly at Natsu again. "Go on Natsu, tell him!" Tell him you devote yourself to following your friends and protecting them as much as you do Lucy!
no subject
That's one way to throw a guy under the bus. Natsu blinked as the focus of attention was shoved on him. Natsu eyed Lucy then Blaine then back to Lucy again.
"Err...yeah Lucy's absolutely right, she's my best teammate I could ask for" That wasn't going to help was it?
