Coffee, Donuts, and Lots and Lots of Teasing. :3
Date & Time: March 6th, the afternoon
Location: Somewhere in the cityMY, "the city", and ending up at a coffee shop most likely!
Characters: Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, Blaine Thorps
Summary: What happens when two mages encounter a troll who found it way too fun to tease them? ... a helluva lot more teasing, that's what.
Warnings: Probably none!
Morning training was always brutal on poor Lucy's body, especially considering it was Erza who was putting them through those drills. But it would be worth it in the end, even if she felt like she couldn't move afterwards. So immediately after training she'd informed her friends she was going back to her unit to have a shower. After that was done, she then decided to head outside again for a walk and possibly get a coffee and donut from a shop nearby. She'd meet up with Natsu again later (or sooner than she thinks), but for the meanwhile, coffee and donut was on the agenda. Also meeting certain trolls that teased her the other day, but shh, she didn't know she was going to run into Blaine yet.

All the same, she unconsciously leaned a little closer to him. Which really wasn't that big a surprise - it was always comfortable being close to him, and there was never any harm in leanin- okay you're leaning a little closer than you need to, Luce. Stop that.
She swallowed, managing to barely stop herself from leaning towards him further, her thoughts spinning. Glancing down instead, she took a breath. She... actually she couldn't think of anything more than hearing how Natsu had answered Blaine's question about whether he thought Lucy was pretty. No, beautiful. She blushed faintly- even if ... no, he did just say it because he was her best friend, she didn't thank him did she?
"..Natsu...?" Lucy, back up a bit, you might startle the poor boy into spitting his water at you. And not in the fun way like last time.

He should really be leaning away from Lucy but he was rooted to the spot. He swallowed before answering the girl.
"Yeah? Something else on your mind? " So close. God dammit even her scent was having some weird pull like effect on him. So tempting to just lean closer.

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise that his habits rub off on Lucy a little. Just a little. "Y.. yeah." That glass was not bottomless, Natsu, how long was he going to be able to focus on it? Make it last!
"Um... about... what you said before." Wow this close to Natsu it was kinda hard to breathe. How fast was her pulse going anyway? Hggn. "To Blaine. I-I wanted to thank you for what you said." She exhaled a soft laugh, "That was the sweetest thing anyone's ever said-" And why did she just wanna - oh man, no, Lucy, you back off right this minute. The poor boy was trying to drink his water.

Oh that. He'd just blurted out his true feelings on the matter yet to hear that they made her so happy was not an altogether unpleasant feeling.
"Y-You're welcome anytime, Lucy." Here have that slightly shaky smile that is trying to be his usual toothy one.

Lucy chuckled faintly, though the more she watched him, the faster her pulse raced. And that smile - that adorably shakey smile. "...no really..." She glanced away for several seconds, starting to lean back. "Thank you."
YAY freedom Natsu! You're in the cle- oh wait, nope, because after a minute there's a quiet murmur of, "Sorry... I just can't-" right before she's abruptly leaning forward again, closer then ever and placing a hand against his shoulder in an echo of her gesture from Valentine's Day, brushing her lips lightly against his.
It's not curiosity. It's... practice. Right? Though oops, with no Erza walking in on them, she doesn't lean away just yet.

Natsu almost got that exhale of relief out before she moved in towards him again. 'Sorry?' What was that for? Natsu couldn't figure out for the life of him and it wasn't like he had much time to think on it since the next moment Lucy's hand is on him and he got a split second of deja vu before her lips were on his again. Again! Lucy was kissing him AGAIN!
It was light but it made him feel so warm. Warmer than any fire he'd eaten. And this time he didn't feel like running away. In fact he even leaned towards her on his own accord just a bit, just pressing up against her lips not really knowing any movements that would go with the act.

Her eyes flew open in surprise. It had been enough to just kiss him - once more. Just one last time, she had told herself that when she leaned in. But with him leaning towards her and into the kiss, she shivered the slightest bit. Oh Mavis, what was she doing?
The faintest of whimpers slipped out as her hand shifted from his shoulder, her arm instead moving to curl around his shoulders. Dude, Lucy, you're kissing Natsu. Natsu. Best friend remember? Everything you've been insisting on? Stoppit! What the hell, man?

For a moment he tensed up when her hand moved away thinking she might decide to shove him back but no she had other things in mind. That sound she made was cute too...wait did he just think that?! And then she pulled him closer...and it felt so...so right. Time just seemed to freeze for him in this moment, the softness and warmth and her scent all conspiring to send his mind into places yet uncharted. Just what the hell was going on with him?

This...she didn't want to stop. Wait, no, wait, what. He was all warmth and comfort and the feel of his lips - it all felt just.. right. ... wait, no, this was all kinds of wrong. You're not supposed to kiss your best friend - on the cheek or forehead, Fine, that was okay but this was the lips. Get a hold of yourself, Lucy! Put Blaine's horribly treasonous words out of your head (easier said than done), damnit.
Suddenly tensing in dismay, Lucy started to pull away to break the kiss (and breathe). Though her eyes were still closed with the memory, and her arms trembled slightly from the effort. Right. Right she just... had to move away enough and not look at Natsu because if she looked at him again while she was this close ...

He was actually short of breath too but he looked at Lucy, a slight frown of concern starting to peek through. Did he go too far? Would she be upset with him now? Probably. Yeah she should have kicked him in the face right at the start. But then she hadn't. No she had started it to begin with. So what was a poor confused Dragon Slayer supposed to think.
no subject
No really, what the HELL was she doing. And why did she want to do it again - this was so wrong it - she couldn't even bring herself to look at Natsu at first, a hand touching her lips. Damnit. Damnit why - she glanced towards her friend. Her best friend. Her most special, precious, important friend, worriedly. Dear lord why was he looking at her like that? She probably- well she wasn't sure what he was thinking. All she knew was that if she stayed close to him another second ...GAH.
"I-I... I'm sorry I ..." Get up Lucy. Get up get up get up. "I don't know why I...Sorry!"
She pushed herself up from the couch, shakily. Space. She needed to move away, because he was her best friend damnit. They didn't have that kind of relati- friendship. It was one thing to kiss him out of curiosity because Erza told her she'd kissed him once before at the Christmas party. This was completely different. Judging the way he reacted the last time when Erza walked in on them, he was probably going to bolt. ... actually, Lucy kind of felt like doing that herself, right now.

" It's fine. Really I - Oh would you look at the time. I think I was supposed to meet with Erza again to help her out with something she said she found the other day!" He said forcing a hopefully authentic laugh. Yep just going to sweep that kiss under the rug for now. As long as things didn't break he would be fine with whatever compromise he could breach with Lucy right now. Naturally he wasn't going to forget it. Which kinda defeated the purpose of his acting but hey a stop gap measure was better than none at all.

It must have been really shocking for him. Enough that he didn't even want to be around her. Why didn't she learn her lesson from the last time? He didn't run because Erza walked in on them. He ran because of her. Because she'd kissed him.
That hurt. You really are stupid, Lucy...
She smiled, even though it pained her to do so, but she didn't dare give him reason to feel guilty or sorry over her mistake. "Really? Ah, yeah you'd better hurry, she's probably going to get angry if you're late." She laughed herself, "I'll -- I'll see you later then.." And she was lucky that those glasses were there, because she leaned over to collect them both. There was plenty reason to brightly step off into the kitchen.
She wasn't going to break down. Not until he was gone. But still, she cursed herself silently in her head for making what was quite possibly the -WORST- judgement call she could make in the history of ever. Stupid, stupid, STUPID Lucy.

Did she really forget what he had said both to her about the drunken incident and over the call with Blaine? He confirmed that it felt nice and that part of him liked it. But then they both had their minds so frazzled right now, such connections were impossible to make.
"Yeah she really likes things to be on time." Natsu chuckled back. He wasn't convinced by the smile. It felt fake just like his. He knew her true smiles and that wasn't one of them.
"I'll drop by when we're done." No maybe's or what if's. He was not going to let this break...whatever bond they had. With that he made for the window, walking at a normal pace not trying to look like he was rushing to get far away or anything.

The smile that followed his statement planning to come back when they were done was a bit more genuine, at least. It was reassuring, if not a little awkward. "Okay." So she didn't completely screw things up there at least, if he was willing to come back the same day. "See you later." That said, she slipped silently back into the kitchen to clean the glasses, and try not to think too hard about what happened.

Well it seemed that helped out a bit after all. Good good. Things weren't screwed up per se. Just really confusing but he couldn't stop thinking back to what Erza had said to him a few days back when they were training. Him a crush on Lucy... Why did it start to feel less ridiculous the more stuff just...happened between him and Lucy? Well hopefully whatever Erza found would serve as a good distraction from that train of thought. And hopefully it would give him a fun enough story to share with Lucy afterwards.
"You bet. I'll tell you all about what she found." Providing Erza doesn't threaten him into silence.
