Leo had started on ideas to fix up the training building before the first mission, but then he had gotten wrapped up with it, and....well, he got distracted. It happened so easily sometimes, he couldn't help it.

But with the mission over, and a little too much free time on his hands, he got back to work. He had already made a rock climbing wall (one that moved and shot out flames!), so now he was back in the training hall, trying to decide what to work on next.

So if you come in the training hall, you might find a male studying what he thought to be crude devices for training, or you might find him already tinkering on something, more specifically something of yours. Feel the need to bother him?

"You bet'cha! That's what a real target is like, anyway, am I right?" Leo grinned more, just shrugging.

"Not an archer myself, so your input would be great. I can improve it more, if you'd like. I could even make some wicked sweet arrows, if you want."

Nathaniel doesn't need any further invitation to try out the new targets. He nocks an arrow into his bow and sights on the nearest target. It takes him a moment to adjust to the movement, he's so used to training with targets that are completely still. But he can see how useful these modified ones could be.

A slow breath and he releases the arrow, straight into the middle of the target. He turns to Leo. "Not bad." A thought occurs to him. "Can you make them move at random speeds? If I use these long enough they could become too predictable."

"Different speeds? No problem! It'll take a little adjustment, but that's no problem at all." Leo had to laugh, because really, he was expecting worse. But if speed was the archer's only problem with it, he was doing great.

"Sure there's nothing else? 'Cause I can go bigger, add more, just name it." He had been bored lately, could you tell?

Nathaniel has to think about that; it was obvious the kid wanted something to do, but all of this gadgetry was new to Nathaniel. "You said you could do something to the arrows?"

"Yep, totally could! You know, all the traps, like ropes, explosives, grappling hooks, and so on." Leo just grinned as he spoke, getting kind of excited. He hadn't tried making of these before, since the Apollo cabin liked making their own arrows most of the time, but it seemed like a cool idea. Hopefully this guy would be in for it.

Nathaniel's lips twitch into a smile. "Arrows like grappling hooks? That could be... useful." And bloody.

"I'm Nathaniel, by the way," he says, just now realizing he hasn't introduced himself yet.

"Interested?" Leo asked, before shrugging. He didn't care that the guy hadn't introduced himself. Honestly, he hadn't really noticed. He got too absorbed into what he was doing, oops.

"Leo Valdez, at your service."

Nathaniel nods at him. "Definitely interested. Anything that can give me an edge in battle."

"That I can do! Not that regular old arrows aren't bad. I've seen what the guys in the Apollo cabin can do." Leo frowns for a moment, but shakes it off, smirking again. "But yeah. If you're in, I so got this."
