When I get older, I will be stronger [Open]

Summary: Asuka kicks a football soccer ball around for no particular reason.
Warnings: None (yet).

Ever since her conversation with Utena about sports and possibly starting something it had been hovering at the forefront of her mind. Then it had turned from a random idea into a reality after she'd discovered a somewhat battered soccer ball in one of the stores in the market. Sure, it had cost a bit, but it was worth it - it gave her something to do. Even indoors. And surely the Initiative wouldn't complain too much about her using the open space for something physical, right?

Besides, if they did, Asuka wasn't going to listen anyway.

She bounced the ball off of the floor idly. The room was mostly empty right now, so it seemed as good a time as any to give this a shot. She dribbled the ball across the room, then back and gave it a little chip with her toes, sending the ball spinning into the air. She ducked under it and gave it a bump with her head. She'd intended to send it up again, but it knocked off at an awkward angle.

"Hey! Heads up!"

Sokka yelps as the ball catches him in the back of the head, Asuka's warning a touch to slow to save the Water Tribe boy from impending football doom. He stumbles and slumps over with a small groan, rubbing the back of his head as he stoops to pick up the ball, turning to see where it came from.

"Thanks for the warning--A bit late, though."

Asuka skids to a halt with a cheeky-looking grin, "Hey, maybe you just need better reflexes."

After a moment, she holds her hands out expectantly. "Well? I kinda need that back."

Sokka rolls his eyes in a good natured manner and tosses the ball back towards Asuka.

"There you go. Just messing around, huh? What are you playing?"

Asuka traps the ball with her chest and lets it fall to the ground, where she stops it with a foot. She looks incredibly smug and proud of herself for a moment. She waves her hand in a little gesture of dismissal, "It's called football! Or soccer, depending on you who ask. Well, not that we have enough for teams right now. Or space to play in."

"Cool. I'm guessing there are feet involved." He watches the girl trap the ball.

"How do you play?"

"Well, you normally need more people. Eleven to a side is how the professionals do it, but you can play with less. Basically, there's a goal on either end of the field and you try to get the ball into the goal using only your feet, chest and head. You can't handle the ball with your arms or hands."

She chips the ball again, looking contemplative.

"If you have enough people, you usually have someone in the goal - they're the keeper - and they can use their hands to block and handle the ball. There's a bunch of other rules, but that's the basics."

"Whoa." There was a game you could play pretty easily without bending. And there wasn't really a way that bending could give you advantage, either. Well, maybe if you were an earthbender or airbender. Sokka grins, looking down at the ball for a moment.

"Sounds fun! I'd definitely play."

"Yeah. Too bad it rains all the time or I'd suggest starting a league or something," Asuka tilted her head, then grinned and offered her hand.

"I'm Asuka - Asuka Langley Soryu!"
