Date & Time: Backdated to shortly after April arrivals, daytime?
Location: Apt. 701
Characters: Oriko Mikuni & Kratos Aurion
Summary: Meeting roommates, making overcautious plans for self-preservation, the usual.
Warnings: None I can think of.
What a troubling turn of events.
Oriko arrived with nothing on hand but her consciousness (and her conscience). Better to skip the market for now, she had decided, until she had a better idea of what she would need.
She's used to living alone in the same way one gets used to a shoe that causes blisters. After hoping for the entire journey to the complex that the place would be empty for her arrival, but just outside the door she pauses and frowns.
Not empty. Just that sort of luck, after all. Distracted by the thought, Oriko opens the door on her own before thinking to knock.
"Hello? I apologize for the intrusion."
Oriko places one hand on the door frame and gives the entryway a cursory and cautious look over. Nothing in this flat is organized the way she would have it. She's already looked too many times for things that aren't there, and it's been little more than seconds. It's possible to even miss a place you've been frightened of, it seems.
"Well, it can't be helped." A lie - everything can be changed. This is nothing. Things are bad, but they have been worse: She's seen worse.
Closing the door behind her, she calls again, still polite but firmer this time: "Hello? I thought someone might be home. Maybe I should have brought something..."

Due to said importance, it's little wonder that he pays no attention to the sounds of footsteps outside the apartment (perk, or possibly curse sometimes, of angelic hearing is that you can hear a pin drop a mile away). The knock at the door finally manages to shake him from the book in front of him, but it takes someone calling out to get the realization across that it hadn't been his imagination. The voice isn't a familiar one. Best to check out who this stranger is. It's probably far past time for a break from researching, anyway.
The current page gets bookmarked before the book gets closed. After a quick stretch, Kratos stands and walks out of his room. Upon getting closer to the apartment's door, the unexpected guest comes into view. Yes, definitely not someone familiar. "Can I help you with something?"

She brushes the thickest of her bangs back into place, taming it down where the travel sent it askew.
"My housing assignment placed me in this apartment. My name is Oriko Mikuni. It's a pleasure to meet you; I hope we'll get along well."
She conducts herself with the best mannerisms she knows how to perform, but that doesn't stop her from feeling like a child visiting a house not her own. The sooner she stops feeling like a stranger here, the better it will be for her.
"I hope I've come to the right place. It'd be crass of me to settle in without introducing myself."
The Initiative could do themselves a great service opening up better avenues of communication with their Transports. She marks it down, mentally, as a shortcoming she may have to address if she wants to prevent future hardships for the island.
