(open) let's go see that silver screen, flickers pass on a nighttime reel
Date & Time: Sunday April 21st, Evening.
Location: Renovated art movie theatre a few blocks into the city, away from the Hold and closer to the Thames.
Characters: any & all
Summary: Welcome to the grand opening of the Usual Place Movie Theatre! Tonight we're showing a mostly faithful rendition of Crank as restored by Billy, with refreshments available at minimal cost via Charlie's ingenuity and Collette's general statement that no movie is complete without access to popcorn. Please enjoy the show!
Warnings: Crank is a ridiculous film if you've ever seen it. That is technically PG-13/R, but the log itself should be much more tame!
Notes: Action, prose, or gif-spam each other at will. Just have fun with the first up and running movie theatre in Exsilium since goodness knows when!

If you're going to be that way about it, you can just stay here. I'll keep the flask of ambrosia to myself.
[Real mature Lee.]
no subject
[Oh no, you are not hogging the ambrosia, Lee.
Kara pushes off the door frame and moves out of the way.]
We can go on this not-date to the movie. How do I look?
[Yep, she actually just suggested going out in a towel. Because she's nuts like that.]
no subject
I don't know. Maybe a little risky for a post-apocalyptic Earth theatre. I guess if you can manage to hide a gun in there somewhere you might be okay.
[He tries to deliver that as straight as possible.]
no subject
[Yanno, if you can find one in the mess that occupies the couch.
She'll just disappear into one of the rooms and when she comes out, it's in nothing more flashy than tanks and a jacket. He did say it wasn't a date.]
no subject
Right then. Let's go. [Lee resists the urge to offer his arm. Not a date.]
no subject
[He may not offer an arm, but she bumps his side with her elbow anyway and whispers:]
This is so a date.
[And then promptly busts out laughing.]
no subject
Yeah well I expect most of the flowers here to be poisonous and I'm not entirely sure I'd want to share any chocolate I manage to find so...
[Worst date ever.
Though if he actually had chocolate the only person he'd consider sharing with would be her. So there's that?]
no subject
[She's still grinning and it's genuine enough to almost thing they hadn't been at each other's throats the day before.]
Funny really. Almost all the comforts of home. On Earth.
[Kara clears her throat and glances away.]
So uh... thanks for this.
no subject
[Lee has to wonder what else he'd written off entirely that he hasn't realized he's missing yet.]
"Earth." [Air quotes.] I'm still not entirely convinced on that bit. But if we're stuck here, might as well enjoy it.
[As Kara gets awkward, now its Lee's chance to tease. What? She has it coming.]
For what? Its not a date. [The cheeky grin he has is probably enough to earn him a shove down the stairs.]
no subject
It's so a date.
no subject
You're making me pay for it, aren't you?
[Groan.]
no subject
[Honestly, Lee, did you expect otherwise?]
Didn't think this hellhole had movies.
no subject
It made me wonder what the civilian portions of the fleet do ship to ship, you know? I mean there was that mess with the black market but. There's got to be good stuff too right?
[Idealistic, even in a nuclear wasteland.]
no subject
It's worse now that we've got Dogsville on Galactica.
no subject
[Lee felt more out of touch with Kara every time home came up. It wasn't something he could explain, but there was almost a divide.
Once she has her chance to explain, Lee will interrupt again, this time with just a bit of strain in his tone.]
And the old man? How... how's my dad?
no subject
Not bad. Just got his ass handed to him by the Chief in the dance. President gave him a medal for "45 years of devoted service."
[Realizing she's maybe being too flip, she changes tone to more reassuring.]
He's okay, Lee. I promise.
no subject
Well. Can't say a good clock to the jaw doesn't help an Adama man every now and then.
...And that's not an invitation either.
[Grin.]
