MISSION: RELEASE THEM BACK INTO THE WILD
Date & Time: April 27th - May 1st
Location: Wollongong, Australia, 2464.
Characters: All voluntary transports + maybe a few drafted ones.
Summary: Make those stay-at-homes leave their nerdcaves! My god, do they even know what sunshine looks like???
Warnings: none planned, will be updated accordingly!
The city is old, dark, and very, very quiet. A good deal of the buildings are crumbling and old, but the ones that are actually inhabited glow like candles in the dusk the Transporter has dropped you into. All of these buildings are infested by wiring pouring in from every angle, ensuring that each inhabitant in his or her little block of a room has every modern convenience available in 2464.
There is no one on the streets, no public transportation, and even cars look scarce. But that doesn't mean there's no movement. Maintenance drones, controlled remotely, run deliveries or work repairs. Armed law enforcement drones patrol on rounds through the city, although their mechanized attention is mostly turned outward. Still, they might come to investigate a ruckus within the city limits. And if the persons causing the ruckus don't respond to peaceful attempts to get them to cease, the drones might attempt to subdue them with paralyzing technology and haul them in for a night in the city jail — another dark, unused place.
If you get hungry, there are entire warehouses dedicated to the production of foods. It can't be that hard to sneak in and collect a meal, right? Or you can hack into the system and order whatever you want, if you're good with that kind of thing. Or you can just scavenge—or fast for four days, maybe—if thieving and hacking aren't your style.
And somewhere around here, in those glowing, secluded towers, behind the legions of automated drones, live the reclusive citizens of Wollongong. The methods are up to you, as long as you can get them to come out and breathe the fresh air somehow.
[[ ooc; Mission details are here! This will run from 27th of April to May 1st, with those on the mission returning to Exsilium at the same time that the new arrivals show up. It's an optional mission, but if you'd like your character to go along that would ICly sit it out, feel free to say that the Initiative drafted them for this one.
There aren't any teams or structured threads to this one, so go wild! ]]

open, all days
[Maria has little interest in getting right to the objective of this mission. She may contribute, a little later, but first she wants to explode, get the lay of the land.
So far this city is quite different from the place she's been living for the past few weeks, and even more different from the place she was unceremoniously yanked from. But she's less disoriented now, and more willing to make her own plans.
Carefully, she begins walking the streets, learning her way around and keeping an eye out for anything that might be useful.]
( Option B )
[Disruption and destruction are the key terms on this mission. It reminds Maria a little of the rebellion in Cyprus, but she's sure they never dealt with anything like this place. And neither has she. By now she's noticed the work of a few of her fellow transports, but she'd prefer to avoid attention herself. It would be easier to accomplish anything if she understood more about how any of the things here work, but just like Exsilium, it's all a little beyond her.
But the wires look like a good place to start. They seem to connect every building that isn't desolate and empty. Maria removes her knife from its sheath and starts looking for the nearest clump.]

'Allo. Havin' fun?

I've had worse times, but I can't say this is my idea of leisure.
no subject
Well, it's not quite war, either. Maybe we should think ourselves lucky.
But, then again--d'you want leisure, or excitement?
no subject
Once I wanted glory. Now, I'd settle for knowing we're having some effect, as long as we're here.
no subject
( He bows, theatrically, putting on a show. )
no subject
[She considers applauding lightly, but instead just nods in acknowledgment of his skill.]
Do you have a good view from up there?
no subject
Oui--the best in this place, I'd bet.

A?
Which doesn't explain just how he managed to come across a large cache of antique boomerangs and didgeridoos but it's probably best not to ask.
But it seems that he's trying out the merchandise, as that rather bizarre noise he's making can attest to.
Sorry about that.]
oh my god
It's unlikely to have anything to do with their mission, but she's not too committed to that, and now that she's noticed it, she has to figure out what it is. So she begins tracking it, choosing her movements based on what makes the noise louder, and it's not too long before she's found its source.
And then Maria just stares.]
:3
And they made this look so much easier on television.
[He glances up at his audience, tips his hat to her and offers her an irrepressible grin.]
Good morning! Or as the locals would say, g'day~
no subject
Is that meant to make such an atrocious racket?
no subject
[He gets up, brushes the dust from his jinbei pants and shoulders the didgeridoo.]
Care to try for yourself?
no subject
[She answers immediately. Her mouth isn't going where his has been.]
When they asked us to perform acts of sabotage, I don't think they meant the aural kind.
no subject
No, but it would be an awfully dull world if everyone did everything they were asked to the letter, don't you think? Besides, it would be woefully ignorant of me to neglect this opportunity to enjoy the cultural aspects of this little expedition. One doesn't get the chance to blow a didgeridoo very often after all.
no subject
[She gives him a dubious look.]
But I fail to see the value of playing around with that...thing.

A
He wasn't exactly sure what they were looking for, or why no one seemed to be on the streets, but perhaps this would be an easy way to find weapons. He needed more than just his hidden blade, and they'd been told there were guards... or at least the future's version.
So first order of business was to find more weapons.
Then he'd see about sabotaging whatever his captors had spoken of.]
Re: A
She'd begun to get a decent sense of Wollongong's layout when she turned a corner and spotted Altaïr. She went tense for a moment, then relaxed—even if he didn't remember her, they'd managed to come to some understanding, and that was worth something. At least she hadn't let him sneak up on her this time.]
You've never struck me as a saboteur. Or is that another of your skills I've yet to learn about?
no subject
I believe those whom the Order had been sent after would see us as such. Hiding amongst crowds so one's blade could not be seen was not so different from this, it was merely a different goal.
no subject
[She caught up to him and regarded him curiously.]
Are you really here to disrupt things like they asked?
no subject
I will eventually. But first I have my own reasons for being here.
[He eyed her a bit before continuing]
Have you seen anything that sells or carries weapons? [He really needs more than just his hidden blade.]
no subject
No, but I haven't been looking. I wanted to learn my way around before anything else—we may only be here for a few days, but I don't want to find myself in a bad situation with no idea where to run.
[Actually, wait. That reminded her—something was different about him.]
Did something happen to the ones you had? The first time I saw you, I'd have expected it to rain knives if someone shook you.
no subject
I was brought here before I could replace the weapons I lost whilst fighting Robert and Al Mualim. And our captors here have not been so kind as to provide what I need. [A fact which has not endeared them to him. At all.]
no subject
[Not that that was particularly surprising. The master of the Assassins would have had the title for a reason, and she knew well Robert's battle prowess.]
I'm afraid I can't help—I've just got the one knife myself, and my sword. But there must be something here you could use, no matter how housebound the people here are.
