Date & Time: May 9th, lunchtime/afternoon.
Location: Apartment 705.
Characters: Kagura, Jake Martinez, and Kriem.
Summary: Settling into their new apartment, Jake and Kriem come across their new roommate.
Warnings: TBA.
[Her first night in the new apartment had been interesting. The flickering lights had been something she'd passed off as poor electrical work, but it was the odd bumping in the night that had left the NEXT so unsure about that. Jake hadn't felt anyone else there with them, and Kriem had shrugged it off and gotten on with her work.
She'd spent the morning setting things up. The living area already had the sewing machine set up, along with the assortment of materials ready to be handled. Kriem was in the kitchen though. Jake hadn't allowed her to help out much. Her body was still recovering after a year of inactivity, but she hated sitting around doing nothing. So while she couldn't help Jake with moving into their new place, Kriem did use this time instead to try her hand at making some miso soup for their lunch.
Humming, the smell of the soup began to fill the apartment. She leaned over, still stirring the contents while making sure that the heat remained low so she didn't accidentally boil the soup. It looked ready!
Kriem pulled open the doors to the surrounding cabinets until she found the ones with the bowls. Slipping them onto the counter, she pulled the ladle out of the drawer so she could begin serving their lunch.]

Kagura stepped into the apartment simply, heading straight for the kitchen. If she seemed to be on a mission, they'd likely leave her alone. Her face wasn't smiling, only serious and fixed on getting to the kitchen. Suddenly overwhelmed by the smell of something delicious, Kagura looked up to see what it was. Not even asking if she could have any, she went to the fridge, looking for something else to eat as if neither of them--or the food--existed.]

He tipped his head at the sudden sound of the door opening and closing, which probably went right along with the other strange noises. However, there was a third presence in the apartment, which probably meant the roommate. It was moving in Kriem's direction. Snorting, he rose from the bed and headed to the kitchen to make certain no cat-fighting was about to take place.
"Oi, Kriem, whatcha cookin'?" He eyed the other woman before easing his way to Kriem's direction, peering over her shoulder at the simmering soup. "Hmpt, always looks like shit."

Her bowler hat was missing, which showed her bald head that was only now starting to show the short stubble of her regrowing hair. If she'd known they were going to have company, she wouldn't have appeared so unprepared! Kriem felt a little flustered over that, but she had learned well not to show it.
Luckily for Kriem, Jake made his way into the kitchen as the other woman looked through the fridge. She remained close to him for the protection he gave, especially given her vulnerable state. "You always complain about my miso soup, but you keep eating it," she offered Jake in return. Kriem shook her head before looking over at their new roommate. "We have a guest, Jake-sama."

She noticed two auras, similar in nature yet slightly different from her own. She had been roomed with other demons, it seemed, although they looked more human than her, as their ears were human and eyes normal. Looking both over with disdain as they squabbled, she figured that she had no reason to really acquaintance herself with either, and both seemed to have the same motive. She thought that was the best, but when she was finally addressed between the two, she barely gave them a glance.
"I'll be gone soon enough."
wow, help if i tracked this :S
Oh, so demons were based on appearance as much as other aspects of themselves? That was kind of interesting. Poor Kriem with her complete lack of hair much look decidedly not-demonic.
"Yeah, kitchen door is right there, so that much is obvious," he replied with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
That's okay :)
"You can share some miso with us before you go, if you like," Kriem said. The brush off didn't bother her at all. She was immune to it after being with Jake for so long, and gestured for Jake to reach into the cupboard. "Could you pull out another bowl while I'm serving?"
Yep!
"Thank you." the words were short, almost begrudging. Someone wasn't used to the phrase yet.
Oh roomie, you can't move away. This bitching is fabulous
"What kind of world do you come from?" He had to ask because apparently they all came from different worlds. Her mind was different so maybe that was true. Maybe people far beyond Sternbild were just weirdos.

"You're welcome," Kriem said before handing the bowl out to her. "There are chopsticks in the drawer, otherwise there are spoons as well," she offered before she finally served Jake his.

"Ones where demons exist without all this...technology." she spit out the words, not really wanting to converse any more than she had to.

He raised an eyebrow at the mention of demons, but she was clearly speaking the truth. "So what do demons do with their time then? You don't seem like the flower weaving sort."

She kept quiet though as the two spoke. Kriem was always more of the silent observer who voiced her thoughts when she felt it was needed. That was how she remained at this point, especially as she brought the bowl up to her lips to drink her soup.

"So... if you're that strong, why pretend? Why not become gods or real lords to rule over people weaker than you?" Perhaps interacting with non-demons was as entertaining as when he typically interacted with normal people who weren't part of Ouroboros.
