Summary:

a collection of threads throughout June following the Dan's activity with one another as well friends connected to the Dan, put into one post to avoid spamming the comms. Sometimes a dan roll call.

Warnings: Uuuuuh idk lots of gross sick people. Dying! Sad teenagers and friends!

The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

[He knows Kido's going to do it anyway and he's not happy about it so he frowns deeply at her]

[She gives him a small smile and pats his hair as she walks by, heading back towards the kitchen.]

Get some rest, Shintaro. I'll take care of your sister.

[WOW DON'T PAT HIS HEAD he sinks lower on the couch a little, face red from something other than the fever now]

... You should rest too. Aren't you sick too?

[But he's a cute dumb hikiNEET.]

...I'm not that bad off compared to the rest of you. I can't rest well knowing you guys might try doing something stupid taking care of yourself.

I've barely coughed the whole time. You would have puked if you stood up too fast.

... How's Jade-san?

Jade's all right. He's been working on a vaccine I think. He's pretty talented at this so I bet he'll be able to help.

... Aah, yeah, he sounded like he was pretty smart. Soldier, right?

A military commander and a scientist. His...magic science stuff is related to his eyes. It helps him. I thought it was pretty cool. [In the same casual tone.] He can shoot a spear out of his arm, too.

[That's the sound of someone choking on the soup he was taking another spoonful of.]

-- He can what?!

Yeah, he nearly impaled me when we first met. [She glances back at the sound.] Eat slower.

I am eating slowly! At a normal-- [hieee]

He nearly impaled you?! [he coughs]

Yeah, he saw through my eyes when I was walking towards him. He told me not to sneak around so much.

[She comes out of the kitchen, a little concerned. What the hell, Shintaro.]

Everything okay?

[Whose fault do you think this is.]

He-- [He coughs a couple more times before his body understands it's not drowning, and he takes a few seconds to calm down.]

Y-yeah, I'm fine. [WHEEZES.]

[She reaches out to rub his back just in case.]

Don't worry. He probably won't do it to you.

[She would bet money he would to Kano, though.]

[He just kind of leans forward, elbows on his legs, sighing heavily. Somehow he feels 10 times more tired than earlier.]

T-that's good to know...? Why is that even possible anyway...?

Well...

[Still idly rubbing his back like a mom because he doesn't seem to feel well.]

...The way he explained it kinda sounded like something from quantum physics. He said all things are made of fonons, just different types, and he can fuse them how he wants. He called it the contamination effect.

... So basically, he can fuse the fonons -- I guess they work like atoms -- of the spear with the fonons of his hand, and he can separate and eject them at will?

[He wants to ask about conservation of mass.
He wants to ask what the hell happens inside his arm when that's going on then.
He doesn't think Kido has the answers.]

Yeah, the top layer of his skin I guess. [She doesn't know the specific questions Shintaro has in mind but-] He said he doesn't like explaining it but you might be able to get more out of him. It all sounded pretty interesting to be honest. Whatever he did to his eyes, he did it by himself, too. I guess it was dangerous, though. That's why he wears glasses. It's to protect other people from them.

I think he only told me all of this because I got so interested in his eyes in the first place.

That's ridiculous.

[He covers his face with his hand as he tries not to think too hard on how that's even possible, although the mention of eyes makes him look up at her again.]

From the way you're wording it, it sounds like one of those "it's the source of my power" things. I don't really think he'll tell me, and I'm not that interested, either... but I'll remember not to go near him when he's not wearing them.

I don't think it was like that. From the sounds of it, it was more like...people there can manipulate fonons anyway and he just 'increased his intake' or something.

[She checks him over to make sure he's feeling better now.]

Jade's pretty safe to be around. So, don't worry too much.

[That makes sense too. Shintaro's coughing has calmed down now, and he's reaching for his glass of water. He's just moving slowly, in case Kido tries to throw some other shocking news at him.]

I don't think he's dangerous. If he could make a vaccine, that'd be really helpful.
