Date & Time: Today, maybe a little earlier, but not much.
Location: Dirk's place, then a hospital.
Characters: Jake English and Dirk Strider
Summary: Dragging sick people to hospitals
Warnings: Teenage boys don't always have the cleanest vocabulary.

[ The text was sent and Jake was already tossing aside his fancy tablet and heading out the door before Dirk even had a chance to message him back. Generally speaking when you try to contact someone to ask how they're doing you sit around and wait for them to get back to you. When you're Jake English and have the patience of a three year old, you decide that running up the stairs and hammering your fist against their door is the much better option.

It was going to be very unfortunate if Dirk's roommates were in but the man in question happened to be out and about the town. This kind of behavior might be considered mildly annoying. Hell, even if he is in to put an end to Jake's overly energetic knocking this would still probably be considered mildly annoying.

[Dirk would heave a sigh if his lungs weren't struggling to pull in air already, but he can't just leave Jake outside. The idiot might kick the door down. So he drags himself to a standing position and has to steady himself on the wall. His roommates are out at the moment, thank god.

He trudges over to the door and tries not to look like he's about to die as he opens it.]

Jake. [Wheeze-cough into his hand. That was a metallic tasting cough.] You better have a good reason to make me break my personal quarantine and put yourself at risk for infection.

[It was a pain in the ass to get that all out seeing as he can barely breathe.]

[Dirk waves his hand dismissively and coughs again into his elbow this time.]

I appreciate the concern, bro, but it's not like a broken arm. There ain't gonna be any fixing me up considering there's no known cure.

[He wheezes a little more and leans heavily on in the inside of the doorway, but tries to make it look casual.]
