They thought that trips to Alaska and getting shots would be the beginning of a relaxing break. Instead they got quarantines and bombs and people getting mad at them. Big. Sigh.

Ouch! [He wobbles a bit, but he straightens up just fine.] Ahh... seriously, don't hit me too much. You might catch me off-guard--I'll drop our cover!

Ah. Yeah, sorry. [She rubs the back of her head, looking away. Even if he says something stupid...] Am I close enough? Is it good? You haven't done this in a while.

It's a piece of cake. [He usually leaves his eyes active for almost the entire day, to tell the truth. Stretching it to Kido isn't too hard of a task, even if it requires a little more concentration.] The only question I have is what color Leader'd prefer.

Huh? I like purple best but I guess that's too bright still... [She tries to think.] Ah it doesn't matter does it? Pick for me.

[She can't see, but their appearance to others change to something that fit in more to the native population. And, just as she requested, her mask includes a dull, purple shirt.]

There was a phrase you liked to say... oh, right! 'Blindfold complete!' We're ready, Leader.

[Her cheeks heat up a little.] You remember the weirdest things. I don't know where we're going and I have to hold on so... lead the way but don't go too fast.

[It's been a long time since she had to keep up with him this way.]

I'll go extra slow for your sake. [He sets off at an easy pace, in no rush at all, sticking close to the awnings. It's nostalgic to hold hands like this. How long has it been?]

[A buried instinct causes her to press their shoulders together just to make it easier on him. It doesn't feel bad or even different. Just strange.

After a moment, she speaks softly.]

You don't have to go too slow. I can keep up now.

[He presses back on her without much thought. Maybe this world's become much more hostile. But so long as they're together like this, they can hide from it just fine.]

[It feels like the only difference is that she's taller than him. Thinking that, she grins a little.]

Did you make yourself look taller than me?

Huh? No way! I wouldn't do something like that. [So he says with a cheshire grin. All right. He might've made himself a little taller.]

So you did. And you probably aren't hiding that we're holding hands, either, right?

It's easier this way if we pose as a couple. It'd explain why we'll stick so close when we're in the store~

That's a really elaborate and lame reason to think up to hold my hand.

If my power worked like Kido's, we wouldn't have to hold hands! Ah, but mine isn't as handy. It's something that can't be helped.

You think so? I always thought mine was kind of boring. Yours is a lot cooler. I liked yours best, anyway.

Actually, you're right. Mine's the coolest out of the Dan's. There's no competition, no competition at all.

Well, Kisaragi's is pretty cool, too. It'd be really inconvenient, though. Mary's works better with someone else's... Seto's isn't too bad. Mine would be cooler if it didn't break so easily.

Kisaragi's the most like a problem. Seto's... it'd be really useful to have. Yours is just as useful, I think.

It's useful but it has a lot more downsides than most of yours.

But you can extend it, can't you? That's something none of us can do. So, that's a nice advantage.

That's true. I want to work on it more. You think we can get better with them? [Only a beat passes, not enough to answer, before she gets to her actual question.] Should we... just ask them to use our eyes as weapons?

To be honest, Leader's glare is already a weapon in itself.

Yeah I'll just glare at the UE and they'll back off. You know what I meant. To be honest, I thought of it earlier but I didn't want anyone touching my eyes. It might be worth trying, though.

... they're better than nothing, anyway. [Whatever technology they used to infuse sentience to their weapons could be used on things like voices and magic too it seemed. Applying it to their eyes shouldn't be a problem. And they knew how to use their eyes better than any traditional weapon...]

I wonder, though, what it'll change.
