Summary: as usual, anti-spam mingle log due to numerous interactions between numerous people. action, voice, text, video, post-its.

They thought that trips to Alaska and getting shots would be the beginning of a relaxing break. Instead they got quarantines and bombs and people getting mad at them. Big. Sigh.

[Well, that's something she doesn't quite expect. She wobbles, and rights herself (with slightly more difficulty than usual). ...even so, she manages a small smile when she actually sees his face.]

It has. I'm glad you're okay.

[He moves as if to help her out, giving a sheepish smile.] Sorry, sorry about that.

Likewise for you. How've you been? You been keeping well? [Judging by her mask, she probably got sick too.]

[She waves a hand, and then readjusts the mask slightly. Totally fine, see? Though she does appreciate the concern. Her balance is just sort of... constantly off like this.]

I've been worse. [Which is sadly true. But she understands her limits better now at least.] How are you?

We were just recovering, actually! [And then the ~~Fire Nation~~ UE attacked.] Eh, things have been really hectic around here lately. A bunch of members from home showed up.

[Oh... Maybe that's who all the other kids here were. It's a little strange, thinking a lot of them might be from the same place.]

Are they doing okay here?

[It's the worst time for them to arrive--when he wanted them to show up he wanted it to be during those more peaceful days.]

Despite everything, they're settling in just fine. Aah, even though they made us worry they don't seem to have much worries themselves. They're a little irresponsible that way.

[For a moment, she considers asking if he had many worries. Whenever they had spoken in the past he liked to wear a carefree attitude.

It was misleading though, and it never quite matched what was going on in his head. He tended to lie a lot even over tiny things.

Thinking on it, this is probably the most truthful she's actually seen Kano.]

I don't think I can do very much for any of you right now-- but I'd like to get to know them. And I'll help however I can if you want it.

You don't have to push yourself! Kido and I--we've managed to handle things fine so far. But the offer's appreciated, really.

[He's done nothing but worry since Kido's death. About whether she'd disappear again, what he'd do if it happened, about the Dan, about a million other things swirling around that he has to shove aside into a mental box. If he pretends it's fine, he'll be fine.]

I'll stop them from wandering around one day. I'm definitely sure you'll get along with them great! Seto'd be really excited to make a new friend.

[...That's not how that works, Kano. That's not how that works at all.

Kido dying is news to Nill, but she shouldn't be surprised. They were stuck in a world where most of the population wanted them dead, and everyone did dangerous things constantly. How could she be surprised, really?

It's hard not to worry about them, though.]

It seems like you might be pushing yourself a little too hard.

[Though, that's all she'll say on it. For now. It's not really the best time to be doing much more than that.]

[He might be. But he can definitely handle it until Kido feels better, when everyone else has settled back to some form of normalcy. When that happens, then maybe he'll allow himself some rest. But not now.]

It's nothing, honest. [Ha ha.] Anyways, Seto's number two--he's a childhood friend. He has a similar power to yours, actually! But he doesn't like to use it... it's a shame sometimes.

[Or time to freak out a little. It seems like he could use it. But it's not like you can purposely take a break to do that unfortunately.

She's beginning to wonder if Kano is ever really honest.]

It's good that he has that much control over it. I can see why he wouldn't want to use it.

[A pause.]

If they're similar enough, I might be able to help him learn how to do things if he ever needs it.

[There are days when he asks himself the same question. He tilts his head at the suggestion.]

Oh, would you really? Aah... that's up to him, honestly. Sorry, but I'm curious! What else can you do with that telepathy of yours?

[The convenient part about being sick as a dog is that it makes it slightly easier to not look uncomfortable at his question.]

What can you do? I don't know anything about your abilities at all.

[She spent a long time not telling many people what she was capable of, or never going past the basic telepathy. She likes Kano, but she doesn't like him enough to give away her secrets without knowing some of his.]

Mine's reaaaally simple. But to put it even simpler, you could say I can create illusions.

I can do that too.

[Though....]

I used to be very good at it, but I've had to relearn how to do things here.

What kind of illusions can you make?

Eh, you can too? Wow, you sure are amazing, Nill! My illusions are limited, unfortunately! As far as I can tell, they affect a very small range.

It took me a really long time to be able to manage it right.

How big is your range?

Just myself. [It's a useful power, he's not going to deny it--but he can't help but feel that he should figure out some way to push it somehow.] It isn't as expansive as Kido's, but it's definitely cooler than hers by far.

[Nill's found that's the easiest way of doing things, honestly. It takes up way less energy to keep it up that way and it's easier to make it believable. Kido's though...]

What can Kido do?

She can conceal herself, just like a ghost! [A beat.] Ah, I should elaborate--not exactly like a ghost, you see. Her form doesn't go anywhere, but her presence does. Does that make sense?

[She nods.]

She changes the perception of the people around her. Even though she's there, the people she influences can't tell that she is. Does that sound right?

[A pause.]

Your ability does sound cooler.

Almost perfect! There's also the small perk she has that lets her expand the ability to others too. [Giggle giggle giggle.] But it's obvious my ability's the coolest! But don't tell that to Leader, all right~? She'll hit me.

I won't tell her. [She smiles, just slightly.]

Maybe you should practice more often. I might be able to help you, too.

[He perks up at that. He'd been thinking of improving on his eyes for a while now--possibly even switching them to be his weapon instead. He uses them almost constantly. In most cases, it's without thinking. But it's rarely anything challenging for him. If he could push the limits a bit more...]

Really, really?! You'd do that? Uwah, that'd really be great! You're an angel, Nill~

[That would be pretty practical, actually. It's why Nill decided to make herself her weapon. Too many situations where she hasn't had anything to fight with but herself.

She actually sort of wonders what his weapon is if it isn't his eyes. But she says nothing, and instead nods... while trying very hard to ignore the angel comment.]

I want to help you all as much as I can, however I can. I'd be happy to do that.
