Get back home, things are wrong - Well, not really. It was bad all along.

Characters: Jesse, Saul & OPEN to anyone who wants to run into them
Summary: Jesse drags Saul's ass to safety and then they hang out for a while.

[Jesse's already been at Saul's side for days, ever since he was brought to the hospital. At first, the only thing he's worried about is the illness itself and the possibility that Walter White might stop by to speed the process along, so to speak. Then comes the United Earth's transmission, and then the alert that bombing is imminent. Still, Saul's condition is so bad that Jesse doesn't want to evacuate him until it's absolutely necessary. It's one of those tough decisions: what if the bombs never come but the stress of it all makes Saul even sicker? He opts to keep watch instead - already wearing a ventilator to keep from getting infected, anyway - and to listen for the sounds he's come to know so well by now.
When he hears the first distant rumbles, he gets to his feet immediately and reaches out to shake Saul's shoulders.]
Wake up. Wake up, Saul. We gotta go.

CLOSED to Jesse & Saul

So he's even less happy about being woken up than he would have been otherwise. A little dazed and a lot annoyed, he blinks.]
What?
no subject
...That.
no subject
Look at how unsurprised he is.
Or maybe that's just the drugs keeping most of the panic at bay. In any event, Saul sighs like this is the move inconvenient thing ever, sits up, and pulls his IV out.
(Yeah, definitely the drugs.)]
I need to get dressed.

[Jesse picks up his own backpack and pulls it on, then gathers up all of Saul's things - at least, whatever's in sight. Anything left behind will have to be fished out of the rubble. Better it than them.]
You can walk, right? Can you walk? Or run?

She's making her rounds when she sees someone she knows well. He looks like he's on the verge of death, or near enough - And she's not sentimental, she doesn't give a shit, but she still skips a few beds to hurry her way over to him with her thermos of tea, not even looking at the other person near his bed as she pours Saul one.]
Hey, I was looking for you.
[She smiles down at him, broad and twinkling, just like in the coffee shop those two weeks ago.]
Looks like you went and got yourself right fucked up here, Goodman.
preliminary order: Saul > Jesse > Sonya~
All he really manages to do is look relieved when he sees her. He then tries to muster a grateful smile, but it's more of a grimace than anything.]
Sure did.

[Her smile gentles just a little bit, turns down from wattage fifty to wattage twenty; she reaches behind her and pulls up a chair.]
There anything you need? I'm about as mobile as they get around here, so if you need me to kick in a door and steal some diamonds or something, I don't think that any of them are up to stopping me. Or - you know - medicine.
no subject
[For the moment, anyway, so it's not a full lie. And here Saul makes the mistake of looking over at Jesse, head cocked slightly in question: What about you?]

Maybe she should feel guilty about sticking a tracker on Saul's tablet - and she should definitely thank Jesse for managing to grab it before leaving the hospital - but it means that she can find him more quickly.]
Oh my god. [as she finally gets to them, because they both look like shit.] Do I need to find a doctor?
[For either of them.]
cries on
Except that's not it at all — he's just relieved to see her alive.
Jesse can answer that question, if he wants. Saul's too busy clenching his jaw and trying not to be a pansy again.]
no subject
Um... Saul's still sick. Somebody should look at him.
no subject
Hey. [Just spoken quietly to Saul, before she turns her head enough to look at Jesse. Idly, she remembers that her lenses are down and thinks really hard about them retracting, which works (sentient weapons are neat), because she doesn't want to look too creepy in the dim light.] I can probably manage that in a second. What about you?
[She's guessing at withdrawal, considering the state Jesse's apartment was in when she visited.]

Saul? — [ No, there. He quiets himself quickly and strides over as soon as he's spotted him, eyes already on who he presumes is Jesse. ] How're you both doing?
no subject
He had a bad reaction to some medication. High fever out of nowhere, shaking, sweating, the works. That was... an hour ago? Maybe two. He's stabilized since then, I think — [Pause. Coughing break.]
— but he needs help.
no subject
[Jesse remains slumped where he is, rubbing his forehead. He thinks it's pretty obvious he's not the real sick one here. He can't see himself, though: still lightly soaked in sweat, skin an off color, eyes yellowed, lips dry and cracked. He's better in the sense that his heartbeat has slowed somewhat - but it's still racing above normal - and his fever has dropped a few degrees. All that means is that he's better enough to stop panicking about his own condition and to focus entirely on Saul.]
Do something about that cough first. I swear to god, he sounds like he's gonna stop breathing like any second.
no subject
It can't do much for non-physical wounds except relieve the symptoms, though. ]
It's just a temporary fix — for both of you. I can't cure sickness, I can only make you feel better while you have them. But call me as often as you need for that part, it's exactly what I'm here for.
no subject
He reaches up and claps Ashraf on the arm.]
Thanks, buddy.

batwoman is too useless here so have a sea queen ;_;
Mera helps to tend to children and women first before she walks around to check on the men. She stops by Saul and/or Jesse after some time. ]
How are you feeling?
hi lady 8D
So Mera's question really doesn't need an answer, but Saul will croak one out anyway. Because he's polite.]
Fantastic.
hi saul 8D
She's kept her trident with her in case. You never know when the battle may start. ]
If there is anything you need, do not hesitate to ask.
no subject
...speaking of signs, he's pretty sure he's hallucinating that trident.
Time to jump to a conclusion:] Are you a mermaid?
no subject
However, surface dwellers do like to jump to that conclusion despite the fact she has no fishtail. ]
No; I am Atlantean.
