Missionmas in July (closed)

Date & Time: July
Location: two cities
Characters: killer, vampire, wondergirl
Summary: Missions. One peaceful starter for each with room for violence in sequels.
Warnings: Alcohol use for Shiki, asylum topics for Alice.

A crowded, rowdy tavern in period France. The roof kept the rain out, and... that was the main boast the place could make. All around words she didn't understand being spoken - was her translator working or not? In so much noise either way it didn't matter. She was putting more effort into keeping her hologram on. The modifications her appearance needed were pervasive even by Transport standards. Horns, fangs, all her coloring... Kanaya tried not to think about it. This way she would receive better treatment than the Natives provided. Back home.

So she placed a carefully practiced order for the only drink sold here that either of her conditions would allow: A tall glass of water. Kanaya would nurse this slowly throughout the evening as she hung close to Shiki, looking to him for guidance on how to conduct herself here.

Kanaya walked back into the hotel room with one arm around a paper bag. Around Alice and having ascertained they were alone here, she felt secure leaving the hologram on its default setting of transports-no others-yes. Her period clothes were left intact, something she didn't mind as much in England as in France. There was something nice about matching Alice.

She set the goods down on the counter and looked up to her mission partner. "Well, here I am again. I hope for your sake I don't botch this batch too badly."

The night went by leisurely enough, eventually coming to an end as both Alice and Kanaya went to bed and got some much needed sleep for the task that awaited them. Upon the next morning, Alice was up earlier than expected and already waiting for her troll friend.

Once said troll was awake and prepared, Alice turned to her and asked, "I suppose we'd best be on our way. Shall we?"

"Then let us be on our way." Once they had everything they needed, the two left their room and headed towards their destination. Though she did her best to now show it, Alice was starting to feel particularly anxious. It had gotten to the point where she was constantly reminding herself that it wouldn't be at all like last time. That she had Kanaya with her, and that their stay at this hospital would be a temporary one.

"It's not often that I find myself expecting, and seeking a hasty return back to Exsilium."

She had no doubt that they were appropriately qualified for the task at hand. It was merely... difficult for Alice to not find herself the slightest bit affected by previous memories. "A pleasure to meet you all. My colleague and I are both looking forward to this opportunity. " As pleasantries were exchanged, she took note of her surroundings, looking for similarities with the asylum she had stayed in for all those years.

"Miss Kanaya and I are both expecting to begin as soon as possible."

Alice readied her own weapon as well, the coming out with the typically oversized Hobby Horse. It was a weapon rather suited for demolition if she had ever come across one. She gripped it tightly with both hands, her eyes scanning the area for the best place to start.

"Now then, I suppose it's just about time for us to begin." The much anticipated moment had finally arrived.

"Shall we?"

It was always an impressive sight, for such a diminutive girl to wield a weapon like the Hobby Horse with such force behind it. One swing was all it took for the wall to come crumbling down. Alice had to admit, the undertaking felt rather cathartic.

There was little doubt the noise would've attracted some unwanted attention. No matter. She was only getting started.
