(open) kitten adoptions by squirrel
Date & Time: July 26th, all day
Location: The Housing Complex
Characters: Sir Codpiece & ...you!
Summary: Sir Codpiece has been granted a mission from the Wise Hag: to find homes for all the furry feline fiends he can in this city of Exsilium. Thus he comes a knocking.
Warnings: Ridiculousness.
( Codpiece manages to take two or three kittens along at a time, in twine harnesses he made himself while suffering the heat and hysteria of the jungle beaches. He keeps them in line through cajoling, tugging, herding, and bopping noses, sometimes even resorting to using his very limbs as entertainment.
His poor tail...!
And now he's made it to your door, where he lifts one gauntleted paw and knocks three times sharp, hoping to draw your attention. Should the door open, he leads in with a polite few words. )
Greetings, my lord, my lady. I have been sent on a quest of earnest importance across this dark and determined city. Pray tell, would you have room at your hearth for a feline pup gone chilled and crying for lack of warm mantels to sleep upon?

"Lisbeth? She sounds to be a fierce one indeed." Codpiece had yet to meet Stan's dog, but he appreciated that hint of normalcy among all the strangeness that made up the city of Exsilium. "Then perhaps as a companion? This one with the white, is a fine, lazy little fellow. Might that not make a good friend for the hearth?"
The kitten mentioned paws at Stan's hand, flopping over and flicking his tail. But that's all.
Flick flick flick.
An orange tabby kitten pounces on the seal-point, immediately sparking a tussling fight that ends with a sharp command from Codpiece, paired with a quick one two pull on respective leashes. "Mind your manners! This is no way to comport yourselves, gentlecats!"

Stanley watches the kittens playing, but he's not offended. That's what kittens do, it's all good. He's not too sure it's a good idea to bring one in anyway, even if Jesse does let him have it. You can't feed a cat cookies and booze anyway.

He steels himself, tugging on the leashes yet again. "Whom must you seek supplication from?"

It sucks that the squirrel is having a tough day and all. Filled with kittens. But it's not exactly his problem. Stan goes back to scratching one under the chin. Cats seem to like that on TV.

Oh, Codpiece. You special little nutcase, you.

Which is why when the cat started to crouch over his boxers from yesterday and dribble on them, he was surprised to open the door and find Sir Codpiece still there. The cat he'd been planning to toss into the hall finished its tinkle in the entryway instead, then cried again and struggled, until Stan absently grabbed it by its scruff.
"Oh. Um. It's cool. I guess. "

"Might I suggest, my lord, that you invest in a box of indoor clay for your fine furry household member? I hear it does wonders for eliminating elimination mistakes."
The two other kittens with him woke up sleepily, yawning and stretching as they stirred to the other kitten's mewling.
and suddenly, julia
And Stanley, a squirrel, and several cats.
"No." Even Jules isn't sure if that's directed at the kittens or the squirrel in armour. "Adorable and charming as your small friends undoubtedly are, no. Please."
And eyeing the cat a little suspiciously as she says that, before adding, "No offence meant," to the kitten. Her one experience of cats in Exsilium has been a talking, vindictive bastard of a feline, and she has no desire to create more bad blood between other such creatures.
:c
"Ow!" He objected, but managed to tuck it under his arm instead of dropping it. The kitten struggled a bit and then held still, staring around with wide eyes. Stan gave it a glum look, and then turned to look at Jules. It figured. This place just found new ways to suck all the time. But the look he have her wasn't sad or pleading, it was resigned. And there wasn't any inflection in his voice when he tried to get clarification.
"No pets?"

Thus he kept his two kittens in order, watchful eyes on both humans.

In... armour, she realises, crouching down to address him. "Good sir knight, I don't suppose you have any puppies in your inventory of beasts?"
An apologetic glance up at Stan, and she is staying far far away from the cats, even if she's talking to them both. "I'm allergic to cats, you see."
no subject
The kitten is removed from Stanley's underarm and addressed frankly, as if it understands English. "You have to stay with the rat."
To the rat, he sets the kitten down again and clumsily extends the tiny leash. "Sorry, dude. Can't help. But keep 'em away from locals. I've heard some shit."
no subject
"I am afraid not, my lady. Canines are a rarity in this city. If you desire such a beast, I mgiht look well for one, and return to you when I have word. Does this suffice?
He's never heard the word allergy before, let alone for someone to be allergic. It sounds rather alchemical!

A little look at Stanley, coupled with a wink. She really is sorry. "Your armour is very fetching, by the way."

And seriously she is giving Stan such a look. Such a look.
