I have no relevant song lyrics
Date & Time: 7/27 any time during the day
Location: Gym or outside the Housing building
Characters: Luna Lovegood and you!
Summary: Luna practicing spells at the gym or playing in puddles outside.
Warnings: None so far.
a)
Luna is in the gym. She’s being a bit shy, off to the side by herself. She has her long blonde curls up in a loose ponytail, and is wearing a loose floral skirt with orange tights and a loose red tanktop over a yellow t-shirt. She’s waving what looks to be a piece of wood (a wand, to those who might know) around, saying strange words.
“Wingardium leviosa!” she says, and a small weight that can’t weigh more than 2 lbs hovers in mid-air. Just watch your step if she lets it go.
b)
It’s raining (of course) and Luna’s outside in front of the housing building. She seems to be looking around for a while before she gives up, sighing and looking up at the sky, blinking at the rain falling on her. Then, suddenly seeming inspired, she jumps in a rain puddle. Good thing she’s wearing rain boots, although one is red and one is yellow.
c)
[Anything else! Just make up your own set-up if that doesn’t work for you!]

Like that girl over there floating a weight in the air with a stick! That's pretty awesome! He's sitting here watching her in awe.
"I say! How are you managing that?"

"I'm a witch. Magic, to put it simply."
It was so strange to be doing magic in front of non-magic users. She rarely had to explain anything, and she's certainly never had to tell anyone what magic was. But she doesn't mind.

"No joke? A real life witch in the flesh?"
Jake jogs over to her so he can have a real conversation with her.
no subject
"Yes. I go to school at Hogwarts. Do you know it?"
no subject
Speaking of thinking, despite the immediate answer being no, he has to stop and think about that for a moment. Hogwarts... Hogwarts... now that sounds familiar. "Well I can safely say I've never been there before."
((OOC. Yes or no to fourth walling? I'm fine going either way so no pressure from me!)) ]
no subject
"How do you know witches, then? Are they common where you're from?"
((OOC: Hm... maybe it sounds familiar to a fictional place, or no fourth walling, I think. Just no outright 'You're from JK's books!', if that's okay? I just don't want to upset her. :x ))
no subject
... It's a shame she's not here anymore. She'd be pretty jazzed to learn there were witches here.
"I wouldn't say common! But they've certainly collected their fair share of legends over the years."
((OOC. Got it! :D))
A
Then the weight rises into the air and he watches from a few feet in front of her to the side so as not to be in the way. "Do the words matter to make the magic work?"
no subject
"Oh, yes. They're spells. 'Wingardium Leviosa' causes objects to float in midair. 'Alohomora' unlocks locks. 'Stupefy' puts the person into an unconscious state. And so on and so forth. Although, you can cast a spell without speaking aloud."
no subject
"Weight lifting doesn't make your spells stronger, does it?" but he asks with a grin.
no subject
The thought of that knocks the happiness out of her, bringing forth sad memories. She gives him a half-hearted smile. "No. That's quite a silly joke."
no subject
"Did I remind you of something sad?"

Blaine stepped over and picked up the weight.

"Having fun, miss?" He may offer his umbrella, if she doesn't have anything to shield herself from the rain.
no subject
"Yes! Would you like to join me?"
no subject
"Wait-John! I'm sorry about that, and sorry again. He can't help himself sometimes." He apologizes for getting her wet.. when she's already wet. Somehow it makes sense.

"Hey, watch it." The astonishment outweighs what crossness she might have had, meaningless as it may be with the state of weather (no different from any other day, but the principle stands).
no subject
"Oh, I'm sorry. It is terribly hard to stay dry here; I just gave up a long time ago."
no subject
"Looks like you've went beyond giving up and done one better." A laugh. The soaking is easy to brush off when she'll be back in her apartment soon enough.

Luna's never really been good at social interactions. It worked with Donny, why couldn't it work with this stranger?
no subject
Because Donny."Sure." Such optimism, over such simple things. It was refreshing; a departure from the excess of solemnity and seriousness which had met her so often over the network and out in the city, at least until recent days. "Those are perfectly valid reasons to celebrate, I'll give you that."
She holds out one hand, the other following as well soon after so that the umbrella in it covers them both. "Kirika. Nice meeting you."
no subject
Fortunately, she's in a good mood. She's startled silent for a moment, but then she bursts into laughter.
"You seem to be in good humor, my young friend."
