open log » ❝ welcome to Exsilium ❞
Date & Time: Evening, 10th February 3312
Location: Transport Room
Characters: Open To All
Summary: Everyone is brought into the transport room at roughly the same time, in a great succession and flow of imported individuals. Everyone is being lead around in small bundles, or left to their own devices together inside the Initiative Hold.
Warnings: None.
Widespread and crowded, everyone is being transported into this unusually bright room with an efficiency that is almost horrifying. One after the other, new people are appearing -- being led, shown around and then ultimately abandoned with one final phrase; "Good luck."
The Initiative Hold is wide, like a small town in its depth and industry. You've received your weapon; you've got your keys, your netbook, and one of those robed strangers has shoved a small pouch full of what you can only assume is money into your open palm. You've been given an apartment, but where on earth -- are we on earth? -- is it? Your best opportunity right now is to mingle; at least, that's what everyone else appears to be doing. Those strangers in the robes have left. They're tending to the people who are arriving, one by one and in a quick procession. Energy bustles all around you, as you're strapped up with your sudden gifts and looking around.
Hey, maybe you'll even see some familiar faces.

"See anything up there?" The way Bariyan figures it, there's a lot of people in this room, but not that many. A girl of Jade's description ought to be easy enough to spot in a pass or two.

"Nah, you're fine," Bariyan says. "You wanna look around elsewhere? She... could have walked out. Somewhere. I suppose."
Well, maybe. Best case scenario, his sister's here. Worst case, Bariyan forgets that he's carrying John on his shoulder and forgets to duck while walking through a door.

John energetically points towards the doorway.

"What's... what's seabiscuit?" Bariyan asks, as he ducks through the doorway. Hopefully low enough to avoid banging John against the top.

There's no one in these corridors. Bariyan frowns. They probably ought to make for housing, only he has no idea where the housing units are.

He switches the subject back to John. "Where are you from, anyway?"

Earth? "Can't say I've heard of it," he says. "What's it like there?"
Housing. Right. Still looking for that. Bariyan wishes they'd got a map of this place and hopes they're not just getting themselves lost in circles.

"Oh man," John thinks for a minute, and replies slowly: "It's like... it's pretty huge. There are so many places and climates and just stuff that I can't actually pin it all down in a way that doesn't take ten years to say. It's probably the same for your place, right?"

The door they just passed by has a room number on it. Bariyan stops, and then crouches in order to let John off his shoulder.
"These might be the apartments," Bariyan says. "There's a chance that Jade's already here?"

While waiting for an answer, it occurs to Bariyan that he's really, really hoping that this kid finds his sister. He just... seems so nice and naive and completely not safe alone.

"All right, I won't forget. I'm in... 202, I believe. Shouldn't be far. Drop by if you need anything," Bariyan says, and he starts to leave, heading back the way they came.
He stops a couple steps away. There he turns to say, "I'll keep an eye out for your sister, too. I'm... sure we'll find her." That done, Bariyan salutes John and continues on his way.
