open log » ❝ welcome to Exsilium ❞

Date & Time: Evening, 10th February 3312
Location: Transport Room
Characters: Open To All
Summary: Everyone is brought into the transport room at roughly the same time, in a great succession and flow of imported individuals. Everyone is being lead around in small bundles, or left to their own devices together inside the Initiative Hold.
Warnings: None.

Widespread and crowded, everyone is being transported into this unusually bright room with an efficiency that is almost horrifying. One after the other, new people are appearing -- being led, shown around and then ultimately abandoned with one final phrase; "Good luck."

The Initiative Hold is wide, like a small town in its depth and industry. You've received your weapon; you've got your keys, your netbook, and one of those robed strangers has shoved a small pouch full of what you can only assume is money into your open palm. You've been given an apartment, but where on earth -- are we on earth? -- is it? Your best opportunity right now is to mingle; at least, that's what everyone else appears to be doing. Those strangers in the robes have left. They're tending to the people who are arriving, one by one and in a quick procession. Energy bustles all around you, as you're strapped up with your sudden gifts and looking around.

Hey, maybe you'll even see some familiar faces.

He thought for a moment, trying to apply the logic he'd learned on his own journey with what he'd already learned by both "lectures"--if they could even be called that. John was right; they were vague. That was something worth looking into and worrying over.

... but not in front of a thirteen-year-old.

He thought a moment more before looking at him again. "Ever heard of boot camp?"

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-10 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, duh, yeah I have." He's starting to get what Riku means, however. He looks around the room at all the people, and with slight disbelief: "We're in boot camp?"

"Trans-dimensional boot camp, yeah," Riku had to chuckle to keep himself from outright scowling at the thought. "What else would you call it?"

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-11 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Doesn't really feel like it," he scrunches up his nose. "Boot camp is supposed to be all strict and scary and a threat to misbehaving children everywhere."

"Some things're different than what you think they're supposed to be." There was certainly some truth to that, at least, in his experience. He let out a breath. "Besides, boot camp is better than military training."

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-11 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
He nods and grins. "Yeah, that's true. I didn't think burritos would be so delicious but when I tried one it was fantastic. And military training does seem worse than boot camp."

"This place is definitely a burrito."

That might've been a bit sarcastic. Then, a pause; "How could you think burritos wouldn't taste good?" That was probably a question for another day. "Can you actually use that?" He gestured to the weapon he'd put away before.

"I dunno, I thought they'd be really spicy for some reason!"

He laughs, and turns his head and takes out the hammer. And suddenly he realizes he could have just sylladexed the items instead of putting them in his hood. Oops. So he does that. He first slots the hammer into hammerkind, then the others in his regular deck. What Riku will see is the items disappearing with a quick little flash and suddenly they are small cards, which he puts in a pocket.

"Oh, yep! I know how to use a hammer pretty well. At least I think so."

"You don't like spicy stuff." It was phrased like a question--a completely deadpan question, as if that was the weirdest thing he'd heard.

The moment he captchaloged the hammer, however, he tilted his head back for a moment, surprised. ... that was certainly an odd way to store items. Not that his seemingly endless supply of potions and magic was any better--he had to remind himself of that.

"At least you think so, huh." He'll be a bit skeptical for now, John.

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-11 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," he nods at both of those questions, smiling. "I can defeat enemies without getting hurt, so that's good enough for me. What about you? You sound like you have a lot of experience."

That was impressive, to a point, though... he couldn't help but think about his best friend at the thought. "I've been swordfighting since I was four," he said simply. Swordfighting was different from a Keyblade, different enough that it was a little harder to use, but any training was better than none at all. "I guess you could say that's a lot of experience."

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-12 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Wow, ok. So you must be one tough guy." John looks vaguely impressed, but then he is looking around the room. "You see any buddies of yours around?"
curepotion: (➔ that's the very moment that.)

A frown crossed his face, shoulders drooping just slightly. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, hand pausing at the side of his head. "No." But he was used to being on his own. Near a year of being on his own was enough to show him he could do it on his own. "What about you?"

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-13 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
That's not really the sort of reaction he was hoping for, so John frowns too. "I haven't seen anyone I know yet either. Someone will show up so you won't be homesick, dude. Maybe not right now but eventually. So don't worry."
curepotion: (➔ how this will end.)

[personal profile] curepotion 2012-02-13 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Homesick?

He looked at John with an incredulous look. Homesick? ...

Maybe he was, a little, really thinking about it. He let his eyes wander away from John at the thought. "Or maybe only one person comes from each world."

[personal profile] mesovortice 2012-02-13 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, don't think like that! You have to be optimistic." He grins over at him. "The power of positive thinking and stuff."
curepotion: (➔ and it finds me.)

[personal profile] curepotion 2012-02-13 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Optimistic? Riku blinked at him. It was hard to imagine someone being more cheerful than his best friend, but John was quickly speeding up to that point. "You know what, you can be optimistic enough for the both of us." He stated, though he looked a little amused.
