Date & Time: Evening, 10th February 3312

Summary: Everyone is brought into the transport room at roughly the same time, in a great succession and flow of imported individuals. Everyone is being lead around in small bundles, or left to their own devices together inside the Initiative Hold.
Warnings: None.

Widespread and crowded, everyone is being transported into this unusually bright room with an efficiency that is almost horrifying. One after the other, new people are appearing -- being led, shown around and then ultimately abandoned with one final phrase; "Good luck."

The Initiative Hold is wide, like a small town in its depth and industry. You've received your weapon; you've got your keys, your netbook, and one of those robed strangers has shoved a small pouch full of what you can only assume is money into your open palm. You've been given an apartment, but where on earth -- are we on earth? -- is it? Your best opportunity right now is to mingle; at least, that's what everyone else appears to be doing. Those strangers in the robes have left. They're tending to the people who are arriving, one by one and in a quick procession. Energy bustles all around you, as you're strapped up with your sudden gifts and looking around.

Hey, maybe you'll even see some familiar faces.

[ once the group separates, Riku's eyes come off the floor and there's a more methodical procedure in the way he looks at everything and everyone. strengths, weaknesses, age, height, weight, and the way everyone moves. his eyes close to seek out traces of energies he knows, though he comes up empty. not surprising--he hasn't seen anyone he recognizes yet. he's on alert, though, so it's not a surprise that his eyes settle on Lion as she approaches. gentle smile or not, he realizes that her weapon is long-range and his is melee.

... when she compliments and draws attention to Way to the Dawn, he can't help but feel a bit... well, awkward. blame his seclusion. ]

Uh, thanks. [ ... manners. he holds out his hand to shake, then. ] Lion, like the big cat. I'm Riku. Nice to meet you, too.

[Awkward is all right since it's entirely missed. Lion shakes his hand in what is probably some textbook handshake. But showing proper manners gets bonus points and Lion relaxes some of the formality.]

From a rose, actually. Riku is a nice name, though. [And Japanese, at least as far as Lion knows, so it gets a curious look.] Forgive me for prying but are you from Japan...?

[ the imagery of a lion and a rose together makes his lips twitch slightly, but he keeps a rather distinct pokerface through their conversation, especially when Lion asks. ]

No. I don't know where Japan is--it's part of your world, right?

[llywelin]

Yes, it's where I'm from originally. Ah, actually I'm from a small island off the coast. [Not too disappointed sounding. Actually, it's a little exciting to think Riku is another person that comes from some other world.] But this place isn't anything like it, even though I think it's supposed to be the same world. Is any of it familiar to you?

[Lion is from the 80's. This is way sci-fi in comparison. No flying cars though.]

[curepotion]

Sorry.

[ he shakes his head again, sadly. ]

This place... isn't like any world I've ever been to. It's completely different to me.

[llywelin]

[That breaks some of the composure. It would be presumptious to assume anyone who can do that is a witch but it's nothing Lion's heard of much outside of them. Maybe it's just not rare.] You've traveled to other fragments? Ah- worlds. I'm just surprised. Is that common?

[curepotion]

[ 'fragments'? there's a light widening of his eyes but he hides it quickly, smoothing his cool back over. ]

Not really. [ frank and blunt. ] It's not supposed to happen.

[llywelin]

[In turn, Lion relaxes somewhat before sighing.] No, I didn't think it was but it seems some types don't really care.

[curepotion]

[ his frown deepens a little, and he looks at her up and down, wondering if it's safe for the moment. ]

... not everyone's cut out for something like that, it's why they don't care.

[llywelin]

[Lion pauses before nodding, tone a little apologetic.]

...I'm not someone who can really do anything at all like this. Or am supposed to, really. It just seems to keep happening that I'm forced to try anyway.

[curepotion]

So do your best.

[ unfortunately, this sort of thing is simple for Riku--but he's been near trained to do this. ]

[llywelin]

[Surprisingly, Lion nods, calm again.]

I will. Giving up at this point would just be inexcusable for me. [With a slight smile.] I've seen worse odds.

[curepotion]

[ she knows how to keep her poise, doesn't she? he feels just a little envious--he definitely didn't take this so well his first time around. ]

Sounds like you've been through a lot.

[llywelin]

Does it? [Almost embarrassed sounding. Not that he isn't right but Lion finds it easier to consider the problems of others. Anything personal gets swept aside, so it does take a moment to consider it.]

...I suppose I have, yes. But I imagine most people here have as well. At least that's how it feels, as though this is another unfortunate problem among many for all.

[curepotion]

Everyone's experiences are different.

[ he shrugs. ]

This could be the worst thing for some people. We need to stay together.

[llywelin]

...You're very considerate. Though I wouldn't wish for anyone to be dragged into this, I'm glad someone caring is here. You're right and it would be cruel to abandon anyone.

[curepotion]

'Considerate', huh...?

[ that definitely wouldn't be a word he'd use to describe himself. he chuckles lightly. ]

It's just common sense. If two heads are better than one...

Who knows. Maybe it's not as bad as we think.

[llywelin]

[Lion smiles.]

I do tend towards the optimistic side of things. Though, I can't say handing out weapons after being kidnapped is the best first impression. Even then, getting riled won't help anyone. If I can help, let me know. I don't know your circumstances but even just talking like this, I know I'd be happy working with you.

[curepotion]

[ is it bad, or is it good? Riku has to wonder--the first thing he was given when he appeared in another world the first time around was Soul Eater. it'd been after a while, yes, but it still had been the first item he was granted.

would they need weapons, in this world? was it that dangerous? who knew until they stepped out of that door... ]

... sure.

I'll remember. [ but, knowing him... he'd probably take any issues he encounters on his own. ]

If you need help, Lion, don't think this is just a one-way deal.

[llywelin]

[Lion is well-versed in the types who prefer to handle things on their own, even when it would be better to ask for help. In all honesty, Lion tends to be one, too. But that is slowly changing. It does mean being certain he knows the offer is as good as a promise.]

Thank you. It's...nice in a way to have someone closer to my age. So I hope you won't mind if sometimes, 'help' just means a friendly conversation.

I hope you don't mind if I'm lousy at conversation.

[llywelin]

I'm only skilled at it if it's about responsibilities or something like that. So at least you're in fine company.

[curepotion]

Then maybe this place isn't so bad.

[llywelin]

I hope it won't be awful, at least. [With a slight bow.] Uhm, I hope we can be friends. I'll do my best to look out for the others as well.

[Riku really does just strike Lion as a caring person.]

[ a bow? he mimics it, guessing that it's respectful. ]
