Let slip the dogs of war
Date&Time: The week of the moon base happenings!
Location: Moon Base
Charactes: Scott (
workout), Isaac (
freezerburned), Peter (
painedintheballs) and everyone they run into!
Summary: Werewolves. On the Moon. Sounds like a B horror movie, doesn't it?
Notes:
This is a giant catch-all log for the wolf shenanigans on the moon. The log will be split into three top level comments:
Confrontation, for characters to run into Scott and Isaac separately and fight them/try to weaken them for containment/be mauled by them,
Containment, which will be closed to the characters doing the permanent containment, and
During Containment, which is for characters to interact with the wolves while they're incapacitated, but still twigging out- this is where possible solutions will be threaded out!
Moon Base FAQ!
And a quick note to all of our awesome volunteers! We had a ton of people respond to the plotting post, so in the interest of keeping timelines intact but making it inclusive, we settled on one actual capture scenario and opened up the confrontation section to any and all containment attempts. They won't be successful, but will still give us a chance to get some CR going!
Same applies to the during containment/solution thread. We'll probably select one "permanent" fix, but we can thread out all kinds of temporary fixes or attempted fixes in the meantime, so feel free to jump in!
Also, this was super well timed because Isaac-mun is going on a birthday road trip at the end of the week (I'll be gone until Saturday, sorry guys!), and Scott/Peter mun are both slammed by work so BACKTAGS MAY BE A THING THAT HAPPENS sorry guys ;w;
/TL;DR SORRY

I'm blaming you anyway
[ to prove the point, she decides to come closer. nymeria growls quietly behind her, but the girl ignores her. ]
that's just mean
Don't.
[ it's said under his breath, and this time it's more begging than assertive. ]
no subject
[ but she stops. she bends down instead, wrapping her arms around her knees. she treats him much like a cornered animal, keeping a wary distance but she's never been one to hang back in fear. she's quiet a moment then she's seeing herself through red eyes.
she can fold herself into nymeria as if she were a part of the wolf too. with him, she can feel the part of him that's him and she leaves that alone. instead she keeps to the edges, seeing what he does, hearing what he can, smelling the strange air with every inhale. it's like the world is new and sharp rather than the weak image she sees through her weak little girl's body. ]
no subject
she isn't, of course; and a moment later she's there, with him. it's a sensation he's acutely aware of, and there's something uncomfortably familiar about it - the pressure of an alpha on his mind, pulling strings - but that's only in concept. there's nothing about this that feels the same way; this is passive, light.
it causes him to go silent, thoughtful, but then some of the tension actually eases. this is distracting, and distractions are extremely welcome right now. ]
What are you doing?
no subject
[ but she's still seeing two images: scott chained and herself in front of him. neither is confused or detracts from the other.
feeling a little more daring, she inches closer. using one hand for balance, she leans forward and lightly brushes her fingers against his cheek. ]
See? My hand hasn't fallen off.
no subject
This isn't nothing.
[ deep words or simple observation, either or. there's a faint challenge in it, though it's only for the sake of drawing out an explanation. ]
I can...
[ sense her? feel her? hear her isn't right. none of it's really accurate, hence him failing to finish the sentence. ]
no subject
[ she pulls her hand back and as she does she pulls back too. then it's him alone with his thoughts again while she kneels in front of him. her wolf stands at her back. nymeria refuses to leave the girl so near a potential predator alone. ]
no subject
You were with me.
[ were. he felt her leave just the same, but it was like someone slipping out a side door unnoticed; not sharp or startling. ]
no subject
You knew?
no subject
What was it?
no subject
Nothing. I didn't do anything.
no subject
I won't tell anyone.
[ this is natural to him; putting others at ease, understanding. it should be. right now it's a struggle, and the realization that he has to cling this desperately just to be him only fuels the wolf's frightened aggression. ]
no subject
[ suspicious always, the change only serves to fuel it further. her eyes narrow. behind her, the direwolf growls. [
no subject
The moon.
[ it's the best answer he can manage. it's a weak one, but explaining it requires more tact than he's got right now. ]
no subject
[ she's torn between staying and fleeing. he had been calm, why is he suddenly so angry again? ]
no subject
The moon makes us... it makes us what we are. We can usually control it, but this— [ there's very little change in his tone, and it's too tired and borderline aggressive to make much of a joke, but there's an attempt. ] We aren't usually this close to it.
no subject
[ no one will believe him if he says anything. when she reaches for him this time, she treats him as she does her direwolf. the same unobtrusive presence as before except this time she speaks: breathe. when she takes a breath, she does it with his lungs. her attempt to help. ]
no subject
that's not what this is. he knows it, logically. this a young girl with an ability he doesn't understand, taking harmless breaths. he fights against it anyway, all instincts (fear), jerking back against his restraints. when he shouts at her his voice is mostly human, mostly scared, but there are layers of the wolf's snarl reverberating through it. ]
Stop!

Sorry—I didn't—
