she took me back and stitched me up
Date & Time: 9th October and onwards
Location: Clinic
Characters: Donny & open
Summary: follow-on from this network post, but your character doesn't have to have replied to that in order to drop by and give him info or whatever!
(annnnnd eventually it might just turn into a catch-all for later October logs? idk.)
Warnings: Depression, potential mention of death, murder and horribly injuries. Will edit as necessary and feel free to give me a heads up if you'd like to avoid any particular topics in our thread! c:
( Or, perhaps more accurately, the location is really "the place that is being constructed into a clinic." Though he spent a few days dedicated to fiddling in the VR room, he has his retreat there fixed, and there are more important things to focus on. The majority of the time he's in the clinic.
A. Fixing thing up. Right now, hiding his magic seems stupid, rather than helpful, and he's very carefully using his ability to manipulate metal to make the most of the materials that they have, reconfiguring the space to allow for maximum bed space, reinforcing the doorway, making a space for back up generators. There is zero meddling with the external structure, though, because that would obviously just be a really bad idea.
B. Paperwork - working on an inventory, working on patient records, going over notes for appropriate treatment for non-human Transports, trying to organize the (admittedly limited) medical texts that he lugged up on the flight. Save him from this plan or alternatively come and give him more stuff to... file or whatever.
C. Treating people - WHAT DID YOU DO. WHAT DID YOU DO.
Seriously though, what did you do because he needs to know so he can patch you up.
D. - idk man you guys probably have more ideas than I do )

Designed for humans. As is everything else on this base.
[He looks incredibly out of place, and not just because of his dragon-like appearance: his clothing is clearly medieval, consisting of a thick-linked gold chain around his neck, a dark blue kilt with a blue tunic, and a large sword and dagger strapped to his left side, on his belt. He's left his cloak in his quarters.]
I hope I'm not catching you at a busy time?
no subject
W-we um, c-could-- we c-could fix that.
( Quietly, resolutely. He's getting pulled off track, but it would be a relief to actually do something for someone and see an immediate effect, instead of feeling like he's swimming against the current and achieving nothing. A little smile at Kang, shy, that falls away very quickly. At least he tried. )
N-no. It's good. ( He just wants to figure out this door frame quickly so he knows what specs other ones might need. ) D-does, uh, is that h-high enough, now?
no subject
That must be a useful skill. Is it magic, or something else?
no subject
( Helpful, Donny. ) It's-- p-powers only uh, d-do so much.
( Quietly, as if in self-reprimand, and he scratches the side of his neck. ) I c-can um, w-work on-- m-making other stuff n-non-human friendly.
( Like maybe beds. He should make bigger hospital beds, glances in the direction of the current beds thoughtfully.)
no subject
[He notices the look towards the beds and shakes his head.]
That isn't necessary at the moment. I'm only here for a physical.

Elemental gets a nod, though there's something in his confidence that seems to fade. He's not exactly a ball of sunshine, though, so perhaps that dimming is not all too noticeable. )
Right, the um-- d-differences. ( Some trace of that spark back, again. Excuse him, stepping towards a pile of notes and books and shuffling through. ) B-but I'll work on the other stuff. For uh, emergencies.
( And hopefully that means that they won't ever need it. )
no subject
[Kang nods, and glances around the room.]
How do you want to do this? I don't mind if you need to poke at me a bit.
[As long as Donny's careful with the poking. He can deal with it for health benefits.]
no subject
( Hum hum hum. Chewing at his lip, he glances back at Kang. ) I think, um, t-taking-- taking some b-blood would be good? Then, um, we c-can work out what human t-type is close to it, and uh-- if that'd w-work for um, for transfusions and stuff?
( God, there's so much to think of. )
no subject
I can't tell you what would be considered normal, regarding things like blood pressure or heart rate. I also highly doubt my blood is anywhere close to a human's.
[He's fucked if he ever needs a transfusion. Unless...
There is a chance, slim though it may be. And it's not something he enjoys thinking about.]
no subject
( excuse him as he slowly deflates. Before: ) W-well, we c-could-- we could m-monitor over t-time? And find your averages, and-- I m-mean your averages are w-what c-count, so. Yeah.
( gosh this is sort of beyond his normal level of things. He really wishes Marissa was here. Not that she is used to dealing with non-humans either, but at least she is a proper doctor.
After a long moment... ) Are your... organs like human ones?
( Almost preparing to wince, expecting it to be a Very Stupid Question. )
no subject
If I had the information, I'd give it to you. My world is not... as technologically advanced, though.
[He gestures at his clearly medieval clothing, and then pauses to think.]
I'd guess mostly the same, with at least one difference I'm aware of.
no subject
( With a little thumbs up, before he... realises that he just did that and clears his throat, hand dropping back to his side. )
W-whats the d-difference? ( EXCUSE HIM JUST WRITING DOWN NOTES )
no subject
[The thumbs up gesture gets a small, amused smile. He reaches up and puts a palm on his chest, about where Mei Xing had done before.]
A gland of some sort, I think, where my magic originates. Another magic-user could see it.
