Date & Time: July 25th, eveningish?
Location: Equius' home, then about the town
Characters: Equius and Raven!
Summary: Raven takes Equius out for a walk.
Warnings: None so far! Blue people bein' blue?
[She's still not 100% certain she understands how trolls are supposed to work, but at least she has some idea of their relationships, now. After her little chat with Sollux, she's sure that she'll be able to hold something against the other troll if it becomes necessary.
She's grown rather fond of Equius in their time together in the prehistoric. They'd spoken relatively little, but she saw him as, in some ways, a younger version of her friend Hank. Not quite as geeky, maybe, but still quite awkward.
Once she's at his door, she lifts her hand to knock -- and hopes that Sollux isn't the one who answers the door.]

I mean, he took care of me when we were younger, and I take care of him when he goes overboard at the bar, or whatever -- but we sort of butt heads on some things.

I don't really understand this 'brother' role you humans have. it is extremely confusing and seems like a mix or many other roles that should be separate.

[She shrugs.]
It's frustrating, sure, but it leaves room for change.

Then you made a mistake. A moirailship should not be treated as a jumping board for a matespritship, the two quadrants are extremely different.

And if you develop different feelings, then call off whatever quadrant you had because it's obviously not working or you are doing something incorrect. If you are a moirail with someone and soon find yourself wishing to be matesprits, then you have no right being their moirail.

[She waves a hand over toward him, shaking her head.]
I mean, maybe that's how trolls work. People, though -- no, I think you could be friends with someone and still care about them in a very intimate way.
[What even is this conversation]

[I don't know! But he isn't focusing on how mad he is at Sollux anymore.]
The compassion a moirail feels is the pity that an individual has problems as well as the desire to try and help them not have to go through those problems. A moirail wishes to halt any extra displeasures by offering good advice and being an appropriate role model. While a matepsrit pities you for what flaws you have and cares for you completely, flaws included.

[She shrugs her shoulders.]

[Not a good or a bad thing, necessarily, just a statement.]

[Yes but now he feels weird.]

[Radical subject change? Yes please.]

[She heads to the till while he's -- uh, putting his items in his sylladex. Is that stealing? She's just -- not going to ask.]

[It's not long before he's back with no milk in hand. He's not at all bothered anymore though, even if he still kind of felt embarrassed. Goodness. Why was he embarrassed? He's being completely silly. Raven if just some... human, mutant thing, not at all as prestigious as a troll. He has no need to be so befuddled around her.]
[So with a glance and a hitched breath, he takes out everything from his sylladex that he had picked up to buy and moves to pay as well.]
no subject
[She holds up the bags of groceries she's got. It isn't all that heavy, but it's still not as lightweight as his sylladex must be.]
no subject
[He pauses, looking at her bags before moving a hand up to nervously curl some of his hair.]
I can take those for you? I will, I command you to give them to me to carry for you.
no subject
[She raises an eyebrow, though, and passes them over without much fuss.]
No argument for me on that.
