an unfortunate case of too much elle
Date & Time: 10/20-something it's a crap-shoot
Location: VR room
Characters: Chrono, Blue
Summary: who even let these two in here
Warnings: man idk
[virtual reality deals very much with the mind – as does Blue's natural-born power. it's what keeps him reluctant to try, doubting very heavily in the effectiveness...or worth of the illusions these rooms can provide.
he's had a bad history with mind-altering machines, after all.
yet a strange catharsis hangs around some who enter and leave them, and it's got him curious enough to try. if he's to combat some facet of the technology this world has, he ought to understand at least the more-or-less good ones, right?
if a machine can ever be given some label as good or evil of its own accord.
but let's leave Blue to his grim philosophies on the nature of man and machine in his headspace, while instead acknowledging what pieces of it are projected outside of it.
it's something much more vast than the confined room...and much darker, in ways. deep blue and violet hues, pale marble floors and ceilings...both of which stretch away and into heavy darkness, as if they simply vanish to nothing.
his ship. his room. the bed is even there, lit by pale blue lights.
all that's missing is his usual company, isn't it?]

he nods slowly, once.]
Mu, people like myself, live much longer than humans do, and most maintain younger features for a very long time.

Mu. [ Repeats it, testing the sound on his tongue. ]
... You told me a little about them, once.

...How much have we spoken before? [he nods, certain of at least this:] I remember your face on the battlefield, but there was no time for talk like that.

You addressed the network a while back. You said it was unjust, that we were sent off to see the sun, while the natives had to live in the rain.
[ A halting pause, a short exhale. Those words hurt more than usual, now. ]
I agreed with you.

he lets it grow quiet once again, looking at Chrono thoughtfully, less doubtful.
his head tilts slightly as he asks,] Will you tell me your name? Again, if you've already done so. Now that you're here, I'll remember it.
no subject
[ Hesitates a moment, then echoes what he remembers of that first conversation; ]
Just Chrono.

Chrono seems to fit this person well, considering all the voices and memories that are no doubt tied to the name. those kinds of things resonate on a very quiet, unconscious level – like the way some people have a certain kind of air about them.
but it's also just Chrono that sticks, pulling at the corner of his mouth.
his head bows before he lifts it to look at him proper again.]
I'll remember. I'm glad, finding myself in the company of people like you once more.

He shakes it off as foolishness. ]
Ah... ahaha, I'm afraid I'm actually pretty underwhelming company!
But I'm glad.
