Location: The Observatory.
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: New Transports arrive and are shuffled into the Observatory after their initial briefings. The zombie plot will not spill over into this area, this area is safe and unaffected! To face zombies, characters must leave the area, and please move to the event log with those threads.
Warnings: None.

Your arrival here has been very unceremonious. One second you were somewhere else, and now, very suddenly, your feet hit the glowing white of the Transporter pad, and you're here. You aren't alone, either. There's a crowd of others around you, each seeming just as bewildered, angry, or confused as you might feel. At the head of the group is a woman in purple robes, solemn and taciturn. She hurries over a quick overview of your intended purpose here, and gives direct answers when asked for them, but to most things she simply shows you how to access the tablet you've just been given, or tells you that the DITR's greeters will explain everything. On the tablet, you can find the history of this place and a record of what your new cohorts have experienced — although it won't have Network access for another 8 hours. Someone stands on hand to give you a weapon, and though the armory is now greatly reduced, you should be able to find something to suit you.

You're shepherded down a walkway tunnel and into the Observatory, where you will find screens mounted on three sides of the wide room. It's night outside the great wide windows, and the lunar landscape isn't much to look at right now; the only lighting comes from dull red emergency lights, but there are… noises. Listen carefully. Over the voices of your fellow Transports, now and then you might catch the sound of a scrape, or a low and muffled cry. It doesn't sound human. Are there animals up here?

You're free to explore the base, visit and use any of the VR rooms, or discover your new room and roommates, but try not to step out of any airlocks if oxygen is a requirement for your system.

How long have you been here?

[MONTHS.....but maybe that's too much all at once. He sighs and glances down the hallway. This area seems to be properly secured from those creatures that had come out of the agriculture wing, but there's no telling when they'll manage to sneak in as well.]

Never mind that. Oz isn't here right now. He's...

[IN THE PAST. Probably more stuff that is too much to tell her all at once.]

--He'll be back in a day or two.

What? Oi, where is he?

[ he wasn't telling her something, it was obvious. even if alice didn't have some great instincts gilbert is a terrible liar. she presses on, totally oblivious to the zombies being a thing. ]

If you don't tell me I'll go find Oz myself.

[ you heard her! ]

I just said he's not here!

[He moves quick to stand in her way before she can make it to a door!]

No matter where you look you won't find him!

Ohhh, so he's behind this door then?

[ she smirks, cracking her knuckles. ]

Fine, then I better go get him myself!

[HE IS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS SHIT TODAY.

Gritting his teeth, he reaches out to grab her by the head and forcibly hold her back. He has long arms, good luck trying to hit him.]

IF YOU'D LISTENED TO THAT WOMAN BEFORE THEN YOU'D KNOW THAT I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH!

[ she's about to basically attack gilbert until what he says registers. then she stops and gives him another glare as if he was lying about everything. she does believe him but this look is mostly her trying to think back...

what exactly did that lady say..........

she then holds up her tablet, showing gilbert as if he wouldn't know what it is. ]

She said everything was on here, so I didn't listen to her. [ hmm, maybe this thing is as tasty as the cookies. ] Tch, why can't you just tell me.

Well, she was right, but...

[Actually, thinking about it, how was Alice supposed to figure this thing out? He'd had to have a duck teach him how to use it, so that's saying something.

He takes a step away from her and sighs.]

First of all, what's the last thing that you remember before you ended up in that strange room?

[ dammit what was her name again? she forgets the thought, only because it would be too much of a nuisance to figure it out. ]

[So from the sound of it, about the same time as he and Oz. That's both reassuring and a little frustrating.]

Leo isn't here either. [Though unlike Oz, he isn't certain to return in a day or so.] So you don't have to worry about fighting anyone.

Just a little about training and a government. [ she doesn't know that the latter is... ] It all sounded stupid. They made me pick something out but all I need are these.

[ lifting up a leg she shows off her signature boots. yeah! ]

[He'd insisted that he hadn't needed a weapon either, so they'd done something to his Pandora emblem that he still hasn't been able to figure out.]

Did they do something to your shoes?

I guess...

[ ~it's a mystery~ ]

[Well, one more thing to worry about later. Not right now. Right now there are zombies to worry about.]

...It's just like that woman said. This place isn't the same as back home. It isn't even our world, it's...somewhere else.

[He can't even explain it using the concept of the Abyss.]

So for now, we have to stay here until those people you saw before find a way to send us all home.

Who said they could just take us somewhere else without my permission.

[ pout pout pout. ]

Next time I see her I'll kick her.

[He sighs in deep annoyance, and takes this minute to think about what Alice being here means. For one thing, Oz will be happy. This is a good thing. But Oz will also be upset, because now this means that the stupid rabbit is stuck here on the moon with them with zombies in the hallways and a world that is still smoldering beneath them.

Not exactly the best set of circumstances for a reunion.]

Listen, stupid rabbit. You can't cause any trouble while you're here. And if you promise to behave yourself until Oz gets here, I'll make sure to find you some meat to eat later.

[Maybe a bribe will help.]

O... Okay!

[ the bribe helps wonders, but really it doesn't actually mean she wont cause trouble. she does this cheering gesture and it's evident that she's looking forward to her next meal. at least she's a happy rabbit for now! however she stops and turns back to gilbert, as if moving on to the next order of business. something has been bothering her, it just wasn't important. ]

Hey, Raven. Have you been hearing noises?

[ oz & gil > meat > potentially dangerous noises. ]

Hearing noises?

[He frowns down at her.]

[ ╬ she's not stupid! good going gilbert, way to make her mad again. she scowls at him before continuing to explain. ]

It sounded weird. [ like moaning or something, who knows. maybe they're just like pigs or cows or something... anything that is meat is good with her. ] Do they keep animals around here?

[But just then, it hits him. The sound hadn't exactly faded into background noise, but he hasn't noticed it as much as before she showed up. Stop distracting him, Alice.]

Z-zombies--?!

[ excuse you, gilbert. with that kind of reaction alice simply stares at him. it isn't exactly one of confusion but she's pretty confused right now. she furrows her brow as she asks: ]

What's a zombie?

[ a beat.

here comes the forbidden question. ]

Can I eat it?

[He can't really blame her. Until a few days ago, he didn't really know what a zombie was either. Not exactly, not like this.

But that still isn't going to stop him for yelling.]

[These things aren't for eating! They're for killing. Without the use of guns or Raven, which has been making it more difficult for him.]

[ they were just talking about animals, okay. naturally she would think zombies are animals. then again she thought the word naturally sounded yummy so it's hard to defend her sometimes...
