Date: November 1st
Location: The Observatory.
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: New Transports arrive and are shuffled into the Observatory after their initial briefings. The zombie plot will not spill over into this area, this area is safe and unaffected! To face zombies, characters must leave the area, and please move to the event log with those threads.
Warnings: None.
Your arrival here has been very unceremonious. One second you were somewhere else, and now, very suddenly, your feet hit the glowing white of the Transporter pad, and you're here. You aren't alone, either. There's a crowd of others around you, each seeming just as bewildered, angry, or confused as you might feel. At the head of the group is a woman in purple robes, solemn and taciturn. She hurries over a quick overview of your intended purpose here, and gives direct answers when asked for them, but to most things she simply shows you how to access the tablet you've just been given, or tells you that the DITR's greeters will explain everything. On the tablet, you can find the history of this place and a record of what your new cohorts have experienced — although it won't have Network access for another 8 hours. Someone stands on hand to give you a weapon, and though the armory is now greatly reduced, you should be able to find something to suit you.
You're shepherded down a walkway tunnel and into the Observatory, where you will find screens mounted on three sides of the wide room. It's night outside the great wide windows, and the lunar landscape isn't much to look at right now; the only lighting comes from dull red emergency lights, but there are… noises. Listen carefully. Over the voices of your fellow Transports, now and then you might catch the sound of a scrape, or a low and muffled cry. It doesn't sound human. Are there animals up here?
You're free to explore the base, visit and use any of the VR rooms, or discover your new room and roommates, but try not to step out of any airlocks if oxygen is a requirement for your system.
Welcome to the moon base, and to the remains of Exsilium.
[[ ooc; As a note for players of current characters: please keep your root comments confined to the various groups and organizations that set up root comments to greet new characters! We highly encourage tagging around here, but since it's a log meant for new characters specifically, we ask that they be the ones to set up root threads to the entry. Thank you, and happy playing! ]]

[ the bribe helps wonders, but really it doesn't actually mean she wont cause trouble. she does this cheering gesture and it's evident that she's looking forward to her next meal. at least she's a happy rabbit for now! however she stops and turns back to gilbert, as if moving on to the next order of business. something has been bothering her, it just wasn't important. ]
Hey, Raven. Have you been hearing noises?
[ oz & gil > meat > potentially dangerous noises. ]
no subject
[He frowns down at her.]
Did you hit your head on something?
no subject
[ ╬ she's not stupid! good going gilbert, way to make her mad again. she scowls at him before continuing to explain. ]
It sounded weird. [ like moaning or something, who knows. maybe they're just like pigs or cows or something... anything that is meat is good with her. ] Do they keep animals around here?
no subject
[But just then, it hits him. The sound hadn't exactly faded into background noise, but he hasn't noticed it as much as before she showed up. Stop distracting him, Alice.]
Z-zombies--?!
no subject
What's a zombie?
[ a beat.
here comes the forbidden question. ]
Can I eat it?
no subject
But that still isn't going to stop him for yelling.]
NO YOU STUPID RABBIT YOU CAN'T EAT IT! IS YOUR BRAIN REALLY IN YOUR STOMACH AFTER ALL?!
[These things aren't for eating! They're for killing. Without the use of guns or Raven, which has been making it more difficult for him.]

[ they were just talking about animals, okay. naturally she would think zombies are animals. then again she thought the word naturally sounded yummy so it's hard to defend her sometimes...
either way, gilbert started it!!!! ]
no subject
[insert soylent green reference here.]
Just...people who are dead. And still moving around...
no subject
[ gross, dead people. that's not yummy. it actually reminds her a bit of the chains back in the abyss and she feels annoyed just thinking about them.
then she has an idea. ]
I can beat them up.
no subject
[Even if she could use B Rabbit's powers freely here, they're not risking destroying the moon base.
Though speaking of which he still needs to mention that, huh.]
no subject
[ stop stalling gil!!! ]
no subject
[Yeah, he doesn't expect this to go over well.]
no subject
I want to see them.
no subject
...If that's what you want, then follow me.
[He turns back towards the door, checks to make sure that no one else is trying to come in or out before holding it open for her.]
no subject
she wants to find oz already but for now she feels secure enough, because gilbert is here with her. ]
no subject
Actually...it's good that I found you first. Before Oz returns, there are some things that we should talk about.
no subject
there isn't a tone of impatience in her voice yet, but she would be happier if gilbert would just spit it out. ]
What?
no subject
Like they told you when you arrived, this isn't home. We can't just leave when we please, and when we're sent back home, we can't return on our own free will. The only thing that the people here can control is the timeline in this world.
[Following so far?]
no subject
she falls quiet, glances down at her feet as if wondering what they could have done to it. she didn't like being controlled, and a part of her wanted to shout and say they will get them out of this with her powers but she knew it was in no way that simple. there's some silence and a grunt to indicate she's listening. ]
no subject
[Even though she'd only just seen them an hour beforehand, fighting in their own world.]
1/2
there's this sudden fear that falls upon her, not one she can explain even if she has experienced it before. oz had a year of experiences and moving forward without her, and has met and befriended people that she didn't know. she grips her fist together, relieving some tension before looking up. ]
takes a million years to find this icon
But he's still the same right?
[ no matter how long it has been, alice has been with oz enough to be confident of this. he's still that same idiot she met back in the abyss, and even as time passes and he changes, he's still oz. he's just oz moving forward. and now that she's here too she can move forward with him in this place. ]
Hah! I don't care how long he's been in this place, it just means that I, Mistress Alice, will have to make him remember his place as my man-servant!
1/2
A small smile cracks the corners of his lips, and he reaches out to pat her head as he continues hurrying them down another hall.]
Mm. He's still the same.
2/2
When he returns, you're not allowed to hit him or kick him or be violent at all. He'll probably be tired.
no subject
but she doesn't say anything, enjoying what seems to be the praise given to her as she continues to walk down the hall. she makes a mental note that she will have to, again, make pat her more because she likes it so much. ]
